since its creation in 1999, EuroSIMA

has admirably fulfilled its mission of representing and defending the interests of the European boardsports industry . Our association has become a key benchmark in our industry and provided reliable support for member companies .

As President of the association for the past 7 years, I am happy and proud, along with my collaborators on the board and our various partners, to have contributed to the development of the association .

In addition, our Cluster has successfully created a strong network by encouraging and facilitating interaction between private and public stakeholders . It is something we are lucky to have and that many industries envy us for .

Today, though amidst a difficult economy, our list of members continues to grow . Our strength is in our ability to work together and always look towards the future .

In 2014, we shall focus on implementing constructive cooperation and providing useful services to companies . With that in mind, we will be consolidating our relationship with the Outdoor Sports Valley Cluster in Annecy, which represents and unites stakeholders of the Mountain and Outdoor Industries . In that respect,

members of our EuroSIMA Mountain Division will have the option of joining OSV . In return, we will be opening our association to professionals from the Kite, Wind, Wake and Stand Up Paddle industries as well as to those from Skateboarding and Longskate . Thus, EuroSIMA will become the association representing water and urban action sports while OSV will focus on mountain action sports .

Furthermore, we will continue concentrating our efforts on top priorities for the boardsports industry, namely promoting our values and our sports, defending our interests, conquering new markets, training our personnel and future employees and further developing competitiveness of our industry . As both associations will therefore be working hand in hand, interested and motivated members will have possible access to free membership extensions to the sister association .

Last but not least, we shall be heading into unchartered territories of innovation to better anticipate the possibilities and opportunities that emerging technologies may have to offer such as new multimedia interfaces, eco design . . .etc .

Through all this, we hope to encourage new companies to join us and continue to increase our numbers in the coming years to represent the values that unite us all .
