Ranganathan Rajeswari Charitable Trust (RRCT) has initiated the noble

gesture of starting the Ranganathan Educational Institutions.

The Trust was launched by Dr.P.Tamilarasi Murugesan with a view to

establish a centre of excellence in Technical Education in Coimbatore.

She is an experienced academician having over 30 years of experience

in education. She has travelled extensively all over the world and

exposed to best educational practices. The Co Founder of the Trust, Dr.

R.Murugesan has nearly 4 decades of experience in Engineering

education at various levels starting from lecturer to Vice chancellor of

the then Anna University of Technology, Madurai. Presently he is the

president of Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi. He is an

active member of various professional bodies and he served as District

Governor of Lions Clubs International. His vision ensures the very best

The department of Civil Engineering was established during the academic year 2008-2009 with an intake of 60 and it is increased to

120 in the academic year 2011-2012. From the academic year 2013-2014, It offers M.E. Structural Engineering also.

Student Mentoring Programme (SMP) - A unique programme

in association with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers

(India), Coimbatore chapter. Theoretical and practical aspects

of Civil Engineering is taught through this programme which is

needed to mould the students for industrial requirement.

The students are taken to the sites and explained the practical

nuance of civil engineering which is not covered by the syllabi

and curriculum. This programme is having a duration of Forty

hours per year for 3 years.

Ranganathan Architecture College was established during the academic year 2010 – 2011with the sole aim of promoting sustained

growth and inclusiveness by harnessing young talents who are pro-active enough to meet the demands and challenges of the volatile

global environment. Emphasis is placed on the holistic development of the students coupled with value based education through

sound ethics. Though we nurture and are working towards a futuristic vision, we strongly believe in sustained gowth and progress.

Architecture is a multi disciplinary field, including within its fold mathematics, sciene, art technology, social sciences, politics, history,

philosophy, etc. A wider definition would include within its scope the design of the total built environment, from the macro level of town

planning, urban design and landscape architecture to the micro level of interiors.

Bachelors of Architecture (B.Arch) is a 5 year full-time degree course approved by Council of Architecture (CoA) New Delhi, and affiliated to Anna University.

The programme is designed with a curriculum comprising theory, theory cum studio and studio based courses with well – defined syllabi. For practical exposure, the curriculum also has a hands on training programme. Besides field, site visits and educational tours are arranged.
