Nautilus Model 340BA-100 Marine Crane June 23, 2014

General Summarization 1. CRANE DESCRIPTION The quoted Nautilus Model 340BA-100 Marine Crane that has been in production for the past

fifteen years. The crane will be built to meet or exceed API Specification 2C (Spec. 2C), Seventh Edition, March 2012. This crane will bear the OFFICIAL API MONOGRAM and API SPEC. 2C NAMEPLATE mounted on a stainless steel placard.

Boom: The boom is a two piece double tapered box type constructed of high strength steel,

completely seal welded for complete corrosion protection. Welders are certified to AWS Specification D1.1 and 100% of all critical welds are NDE tested by certified third party NDE technicians. Our in-house inspectors are AWS (CWI) Certified Welding Inspectors.

Cylinder: The proposed crane is equipped with dual 12.5” diameter bore boom lift cylinders.

The retracted and extended lengths of the boom cylinders automatically limit the maximum and minimum boom angles and no boom stops and/or boom angle limit systems are required.

Rotation Bearing: Continuous 360° rotation using the finest quality rotation bearing. The

bearing mounting surfaces on the crane turret and pedestal flange are machined perfectly flat to provide maximum bearing life. All bolts are easily accessible from the outside of the pedestal.

2. CONFIGURATION The proposed crane is quoted as follows: · Nautilus Model 340 BA- 100 Marine Crane · Onboard Fully Enclosed Control Station · Onboard Rear Mounted Power Unit Assembly 3. TAPERED CRANE PEDESTAL A 4 ft – 3 in. overall high pedestal weldment is quoted and includes the following: · 3.00 in. thick flange for optimum support of the slewing bearing. · 80.00 in. Top O.D. x 60.00 in. Bottom tapered pedestal barrel with a 1.25 in. wall

thickness. · Large Rectangular Reinforced Manway (Manway has to be large enough for slipring assembly, slipring drawing to follow) Contact Oil States Skagit Smatco, LLC for applicable pedestal welding procedures before

welding. Improper welding procedures could cause damage to the flange, resulting in premature bearing failure.

4. OPERATORS CONTROL STATION Crane operation will be from a fully enclosed operators’ control station located on the left side

of the crane rotating upperstructure. The control station will include the following: · Adjustable All Weather Vinyl Operator’s Seat · Hydraulic Pressure Gauges

Two (2) Dual Axis Pilot Controllers Swing Parking Brake Valve Motor Start/Stop Controls Sliding Windows for Cross Ventilation

. Emergency Load Lowering Kit . Manual Windshield Wipers Stainless steel, glycerin filled, hydraulic pressure gauges are featured to prevent frequent replacement due to corrosion or cracking experienced in less expensive "plastic" type gauges. A stainless steel load-rating chart will be attached to the operator's control station as well as

the official API 2C NAMEPLATE with API MONOGRAM. The etched stainless steel load-rating chart is inscribed in both boom angle and radius. A

corresponding stainless steel pendulum type angle indicator is attached to the boom in clear sight of the operator. The pendulum type boom angle indicator is predominantly used on cranes worldwide to measure the boom angles down to horizontal as required in API Specification 2C (Spec. 2C).

5. ELECTRIC MOTOR LOCATED ONBOARD THE CRANE ROTATING UPPERSTRUCTURE

Nautilus Model 340BA-100 Marine Crane June 23, 2014 6. SLEW BEARING, DRIVE AND BRAKING SYSTEMS An external gear ball bearing is standard on the Nautilus Model 340BA Marine Cranes in full

compliance with API. Dual planetary swing drive gearbox is quoted along with a replaceable pinion gear and slow

speed high torque hydraulic motor. A hydraulic swing lock (also called "Bear Claw" or "Storm Lock") is included to lock the crane

in position and is operated from the crane cab. Parking Brake – Spring applied, hydraulically released to “park” the crane in position. The

brake is automatically applied by the operator at the cab control console and is not deigned to stop a crane in motion.

The swing brake quoted is a fully enclosed hydraulic brake which is spring applied, hydraulically released to "park" the crane in position. This brake is manually applied by the operator and is not designed to stop a crane in motion.

Dynamic Brake – Spring released, hydraulically applied brake designed to stop a rotating crane via foot pedal at the operators’ control console. This “service brake” is in the same enclosure and is in addition to the parking brake.

7. MAIN HOIST/RIGGING (2 SPEED HOIST CIRCUIT)

A Braden Model CH400B-70144-02 is quoted to lift 85,200 lbs. (gross) at a minimum hook speed of 40 FPM in Low Speed and 60,000 lbs. (gross) at a minimum hook speed of 58 FPM in High Speed with the hook located at water level using four parts of .875-inch diameter Dyform-34 HSLR wire rope.
