IntroductionQuinn Radiators

QUINN Radiators is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of domestic and specification radiators, combining innovative industrial design with unrivalled performance. With production and distribution facilities in Ireland, the UK and Belgium, Quinn Radiators offers you a very extensive and attractive range of panel, towel and design radiators including round top, compact and LST.

them. The company was the first UK radiator manufacturer

to achieve the BS EN ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and all

its radiators are manufactured and tested in accordance

QUINN RADIATORS 2

SPECIFICATIONS & DIMENSIONS

PRODUCT RANGE

The Quinn Round Top range comprises of single, double

convector radiators and double panel plus convector radiators

supplied with factory fitted grilles and side panels in a choice of

heights with lengths from 300mm to 2000mm.

FINISH

Every Quinn Round Top radiator undergoes an intensive pre-

treatment process to protect against rust. The radiators are then

finished with Epoxy Polyester Powder paint similar to RAL 9016

which may be over painted if required.

PACKAGING

Every radiator is protected top and bottom over the whole

length and height with heavy cardboard box ends and packed in

shrink wrapped polythene.

CONNECTIONS

Each Round Top radiator is manufactured with four 1/2” BSP

TBOE connections.

TESTING

All radiators are individually pressure tested to 10.5 bar and are

suited for a working pressure up to 8 bar.

BRACKETS

All radiators in the range are supplied with two or more brackets

depending on the length.

BRACKET LUGS

Two pairs of lugs are fitted on radiators up to and including

1600mm long. A third pair of lugs is fitted centrally on radiators

1800mm long and over.

TAPPING-TO-TAPPING DIMENSIONS

All tapping-to-tapping dimensions may be obtained by

subtracting 5mm (1/4”) from the nominal radiator length

(accurate to + 2mm).

MATERIALS

Quinn Round Top radiators are manufactured from high quality

cold-rolled steel with a nominal thickness of 1.2mm.

INSTALLATION

For indirect systems or closed circuits only at a working

pressure not exceeding 8 bar.

The grille and side panels are factory fitted for a perfect robust finish, eliminating the problems of distorted grilles and ill-fitting side panels traditionally associated with compacts making it a beautifully-finished radiator that is at home anywhere.

QUINN RADIATORS 6

Quinn Low Surface Temperature covers are used with standard

Quinn Round Top Radiators. This price list shows the dimensions

and heat outputs of the LSTs and identifies the correct radiator

to be used with each.

PRODUCT RANGE

The Quinn LST range comprises of single and double convector

radiators in five heights with lengths from 500mm to 2000mm.

EMITTER

The Quinn LST cover is designed to accommodate a standard

Quinn emitter with four connections. All standard connections

are 1/2” BSP.

COVER

The Quinn LST cover comprises of a strong single-piece cover

that’s quick and easy to install. The unique design allows it to

be fitted over a standard Quinn emitter. The cover is forward

hinged allowing easy access to the emitter for internal cleaning

and maintenance, but has a simple locking device to prevent

unauthorised access.

PACKAGING

The Quinn LST is supplied in two packs. The Quinn emitter is

packaged in picture frame wrapping with integral protection

for the backclips and wrapped in a vacuum sealed heavy duty

polythene. The cover is packaged in a four-sided box to give

complete protection.

Low Surface Temperature RadiatorsSpecifications and DimensionsQuinn Low Surface Temperature radiators are manufactured from a single-piece cover, making them easy and quick to install, with no visible welds or joints to trap dust. They are forward-hinged for easy access to the emitter for cleaning or maintenance.As well as accepting standard valves the Quinn Low Surface Temperature radiator can be fitted with the stylish Quinn TRV kit for flexible performance and economy.

BRACKET LUGS

Two pairs of lugs are positioned as standard on emitters less

than 1800mm (70”) long. A third pair of lugs is fixed centrally on

emitters 1800mm (70”) long and over.

THERMOSTAT RADIATOR VALVES

EXTERNAL CONTROL HEAD

Consists of a 15mm angled valve body fitted to the emitter

inside the LST cover and linked by a capillary tube to an external

control and sensing head. The head is secured by simply

tightening the unit through a pre-formed knock-out in the LST

cover. A specially-designed grip on the valve head facilitates

use by people with limited hand mobility. These TRV valves are

unsuitable for single pipe systems.

INTERNAL CONTROL HEAD

Consists of a 15mm angled valve body and control head fitted

to the emitter inside the LST cover, with an external sensor

attached by a self-adhesive pad to the underside of the cover.

The control head is tamper proof, being accessible only to

authorised personnel by simply unlocking the hinged LST cover.

All radiators have been manufactured and tested in accordance

with BSEN 442.

QUALITY

All radiators are manufactured under a BS EN ISO 9001:2000

quality system accepted by BSI.

WARRANTY

All radiators are supplied under warranty for a period of ten

years in respect of defective materials or manufacture.

WATER TREATMENT

It is strongly recommended on completion of the installation,

the system should be properly flushed and filled-in accordance

with the British Standard Code of-Practice for the Treatment of

Water in Domestic Hot Water Central Heating Systems BS 7593.

Use of a corrosion-inhibitor is strongly recommended. Failure to

observe this recommendation will invalidate the manufacturer’s

warranty.

CONVERSION INFORMATION

The outputs quoted in this publication are based on a Delta T

of 50°C.

anti-bacterial paint to ISO 22196 standards. The LST was designed

to comply with NHS Safe Surface Temperature guidelines, where

maximum surface temperatures should not exceed 43°C.

Each radiator is under full warranty for ten years in respect of

defective materials and manufacture.

TESTING

All radiators are individually tested to 10 bar pressure.

same time maintaining the maximum standards of product

This commitment to innovation in our new state of the art

production facility in Newport, Wales ensures minimum energy

usage & low emissions. It further enables Quinn Radiators to

produce the most efficient radiator on the European market

using the lowest amount of steel for heat output. This in turn

allows for optimum heat transfer and therefore minimum heat

loss through the heating system.

• Work with local, national and international legislators and

regulators as well as the industry, to comply with and help

create reasonable and effective laws and regulations aimed at

protecting the environment.

QUINN Radiators Working to Protect the Environment

• Design packages and packaging systems to minimise the

impact on the environment and waste streams. This may

include considerations of minimising package materials and

using less or alternative materials.

• Consider the utilisation of recycled materials in product design

as well as the recycleability of components at the end of useful

life.

Our fully automated production facility ensures minimum

waste, however, Quinn Radiators recycles 100% of any waste

resulting from the production process.

We also have automated warehousing with all picking done

on site and therefore no additional traffic movements to other

locations, generating less damage and therefore waste.

• Educate employees, and customers through activities that

promote environmental responsibility e.g. carbon footprinting.

• Consider and try to meet the opportunities presented

by evolving retailer and consumer attitudes toward the

environment .
