I think that I have improved a lot since the preliminary task. The music magazine is proof that I have learn how to use Photoshop more and that I have gained more skills in it. The coverlines are a lot more visible and as a whole the magazine has a better lay out. The school magazine is quite empty and the coverlines are wrongly the same font as the masthead. Whereas, the music magazine is more unique and uses different fonts as a professional magazine would. It also contains more codes and conventions of magazines such as a positioning statement and strapline. The text on the music magazine has relevant coverlines and is in capitals which makes it stand out to the audience.

The contents page has also majorly improved. I gained better knowledge with the media software ‘QuarkExpress’ and used more of the tools suck as backgrounds and boarders to make it look more interesting. The title of the contents page has a different font to the magazine title whereas, the preliminary task doesn’t. The music magazine has more content which makes it look more interesting, it has captions on the images and is more correctly laid out into columns. The music magazine looks far more professional and I think I have gained a lot of confidence using the media software’s.

I have also progressed more by creating a double page spread, which even though I hadn’t done before turned out well and still looks like a professional magazine.
