Page 1: Question 1 slide show

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Page 2: Question 1 slide show

The strip along the bottom is the cover line of the DPS, I have chosen the colour to be yellow to connect it to the magazine title so there is yellow at the top and bottom of the cover.

The barcode, price and date added to the cover in the bottom right to look as though its professional.

The masthead fills the whole width of the cover with a bright yellow colour and a red shadow effect. The font is modern and edgy which matches the target audience.

The main image shows Halle bringing bling to pop music identifying that she could be a unique star like Lady Gaga who is also pop music.

The cover lines frame the main image and only have short key words about that article or consist of just the artists name. The artists names also have a framed box of different bright colours to show it’s more pop related and bright.

The exclusive sign above the main cover line is unique and brings something different to the front cover.

Positioning statement below the masthead to look professional.

Page 3: Question 1 slide show

The JPEG image at the top left indicates the title of the magazine with there being a print out of the front cover.

Contents title at the top of the page to look professional.

Regular and Feature sub titles with the same colour as the background strip of the contents title to link them together.

Articles that will appear in the magazine along with page numbers a different colour to the writing of the article titles.

6 images representing 6 different articles in the magazine however, the top and bottom image were both taken at the same concert and therefore have the same setting to keep all the images linked and together.

Page numbers in a bright yellow colour to make them stand out on top of the images.

Purple background to show variation of colour scheme for a pop music magazine.

Page 4: Question 1 slide show

Background colour is the pink that I have used on the contents page title strip block to keep them all linked and to keep the pink in the colour scheme of the magazine.

Article title centred in the middle overlapping both pages with the writing over the images to link them together.

Both images of Rihanna and Katy Perry were taken by myself at their latest tours in 2011. I used these images because they work well together with both singers turning into each other looking like they are having a sing off which is what the article is about.

By line under the article’s title explaining what the article is about and who I have interviewed.

I have used a stand first in the article to look more professional and like a real magazine article.

The article is an interview with two fans of both singers and I have coloured the questions I asked the fans in white so it’s clear to the target audience reading the article.
