WHAT’S HAPPENING IN SPECIAL EDUCATION AT AHS? Students at AHS have the opportunity to test out VR! Using Virtual Reality glasses and a merge cube, the students in Ms. Paula Kaylor and Ms. LaWanda Mitchell’s classrooms are exploring the human body in 3D. The VR glasses turn the merge cube into individual organs that the students can hold in their hands and manipulate for an amazing hands-on experience with the human body! Ms. Kaylor and Ms. Mitchelle’s students have also used these stem tools to study dinosaurs and a variety of other educational areas!

Families Begin the 2020-21 School Year Albertville High School

Students are preparing to start back to school on August 24, 2020, after an abrupt end to the traditional school year in March 2020 due to COVID-19. In light of the nation’s pandemic, Albertville City Schools is allowing families to choose a traditional or virtual platform for their learning to take place this school year. Albertville High School students, including those in special education, will have the opportunity to choose virtual learning with the option to take three classes on campus. This is considered a hybrid option that allows students to receive a face-to-face education to meet their individual needs.
