Jim Pattison Subaru Victoria Joins the GroupIn August 2016, Saunders Subaru was acquired by The Jim Pattison Auto Group, and rebranded as Jim Pattison Subaru Victoria. Saunders Subaru was led by Bob Saunders who is well known for his philanthropy and community advocacy. This was a family owned dealership and was successfully operating for over thirty years. Jim Pattison Subaru Victoria still operates in the same facility in Colwood along with some of Saunders Subaru’s previous employees.

We are delighted to have a new addition in the family and will continue the Saunders’ legacy of excellence, strong values, and community support as it remains to be focused on customers’ satisfaction and delivering even greater value. Wishing Jim Pattison Subaru Victoria a successful journey ahead!

Off to a Good StartIt has been a good start for Audi Edmonton North. With only a year in business, two of their staff members managed to get two of the top four spots in the recently held Audi Canada Regional Walk Around Competition. Garnering first place was Josh Couch and fourth place was awarded to Michael Mak. Soon after, they went to Niagara-on-the-Lake for the National Finals last September.

Metro Edmonton News has also spoken, awarding Audi Edmonton North as the winner of the 2016 Metro Edmonton Community Choice Award in the Imported Car Dealership category. They were also selected as one of the Top Three Favourite in the Oil/Lube Change category. Good job and keep up the good work!

More Than Just a Tour The Jim Pattison Auto Group was honoured to sponsor the Canadian Cancer Society and their Cops for Cancer cycling tour, Tour de Coast, in September. Cops for Cancer is an annual event that takes place each fall where over a hundred first responders, such as law enforcement and emergency services personnel, cycle up to two weeks across Vancouver Island, Northern BC, the coast of British Columbia, and the Fraser Valley. Jim Pattison Hyundai Coquitlam and Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam welcomed the cyclists with refreshments and big smiles as they passed by en route. The tour ended up raising over $500,000 for pediatric cancer research and Camp Goodtimes. We are grateful to be a part of such an amazing cause!

Supporting the Competitive SpiritAudi Edmonton North was a major sponsor of the prestigious ITU World Triathlon Edmonton. At the ITU World Triathlon Series, the world’s fastest triathletes travel to iconic cities to compete head-to-head in distance races for a chance to be crowned World Champion. Winners from the Junior Women’s category were greeted by General Manager, Sean Hebdon, as he presented their medals and congratulated them on their success.

Emojis at WorkJim Pattison Hyundai Surrey’s administration team organized a fun emoji-themed BBQ party for their staff in July. An array of expressive emoji props and decorations, combined with delicious food prepared by the staff themselves, completed the fun-filled team bonding event. Everyone had an amazing time, but most importantly, this event paved the way for the team to get to know each other more. At the end of the day, they were all depicted as a group of smiling emojis, celebrating team spirit.

A Warm Farewell Jim Pattison Subaru Northshore bided a warm farewell to Steve Skinner. Steve has retired from his position as General Manager. He has been a tremendous leader and his contributions will be remembered. Steve has been an inspiration to his team for his utmost dedication and immeasurable commitment to the company and Subaru. We wish Steve all the best!

Terri Smith-Doherty has been a valuable member of the team and will be greatly missed by both Jim Pattison Hyundai Coquitlam and Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam alike. Both dealerships held a farewell lunch for Terri to show their appreciation for her positive attitude and unwavering support for both locations to cover the Office Managers’ maternity leaves. Terri is continuing to assist the Auto Group and is currently providing accounting support at Jim Pattison Chrysler Jeep Dodge Surrey. Thank you for all

Family Fun Day

Audi Edmonton North believes in community, and on that note, they held a fun-filled team building event for all of the staff and their families at the dealership in July. It was a memorable day to build team spirit and strengthen their bonds as one family. Everyone got to enjoy a delicious BBQ, a blow-up obstacle course, and face painting among many other fun activities for all to enjoy.

Supporting the Local Volvo Community

Jim Pattison Volvo of North Vancouver participated in and donated raffle prizes to Volvo Club of BC’s 25th Cates Park Picnic and AGM, held on September 24th. They displayed the new Volvo XC90 and S90, which were flanked with a PV444 and 544 for historical contrast. Everyone who attended the event had a great time and enjoyed looking at the assortment of Volvos on display, ranging from 50+ years old to modern day models.

Celebrating Excellence

In September, Jim Pattison Volvo of Victoria’s staff were rewarded with a well-deserved overnight stay, plus dinner and breakfast, at the Oak Bay Beach Hotel for winning the distinguished 2015 Volvo President’s Award. This award went to only a select few Volvo dealerships from all over Canada for demonstrating world-class customer service and dedication to excellence. To cap off their weekend, the staff went whale watching for a great and fun-packed adventure. Hats off to the whole team at Jim Pattison Volvo of Victoria!

New Additions

We would like to welcome Blake Ellingham as our new Procurement Coordinator at The Jim Pattison Auto Group. Blake previously held the position of Sales and Financial Services Manager at Jim Pattison Subaru Coquitlam, and with his departure, the staff there even threw a nice farewell party for Blake. “We’ve been very happy through the whole process of buying our new vehicle! Realizing we needed to get a better vehicle to accommodate our family, we decided reluctantly to trade in our Jeep Grande Cherokee SRT8 for the 2017 Audi Q7 (and we haven’t felt a stitch of buyers’ remorse since our Q7 came in). First off, I have to say they do a pretty stand-up job hiring their staff at this dealership! I feel like this review is going to be a bunch of name-dropping but I can’t help it because they’re awesome. I don’t think it would matter much who you wind up dealing with if you randomly walk into this location - you’ll more than likely get a pretty warm and professional greeting. Ok the name-dropping - We met JP Angeles, and Mark Jones (Audi Branch Managers) who gave us a nice welcome to the brand family and were so great to talk to. Xerxes Rodil (Audi Brand Specialist) was with us from start to finish. He did a great job impressing on us how great the Q7 is and spent all the time we needed to answer our questions and help us make our

decision. He’s been awesome to deal with the whole way through the buying process, but it hasn’t stopped there. I definitely get the sense that he would help us with any inquiries long after the sale (can’t say that about many sales professionals we’ve dealt with in the past). Our Finance guys, Farooq and Jeff, helped us with our trade in and all the work behind the financial arrangements. They did a lot behind the scenes to make the process smooth for us. When I went to pick up my new vehicle I had to travel in from out of town and arrived at the dealership late, after closing hours on a Friday. Bailey (Delivery Specialist) was there to spend a fair amount of time running through all the features and setting up some of the presets before I transferred my stuff from our old unit over. I appreciated her taking the time out of her evening to do that! I wasn’t rushed out or made to feel like I was inconveniently taking up time. I feel like I would be equally impressed with the folks in the Service and Parts Departments. Anyhow, PRETTY FANTASTIC SERVICE and experience all around! Thank you guys! I would highly recommend buying your vehicle from Audi Edmonton North!”

the options I wanted. Dave and Brendan, the sales manager, helped me find the right package gave me very reasonable pricing on accessories. I took some time after my initial conversations with them both before purchasing and really appreciated that they did not hassle me to make a decision like other dealerships- I was not phoned incessantly and felt they truly respected my time and decision making process. They also made sure to answer any questions promptly and assist with pricing any additional accessories during this time. Once I made the decision to buy, my truck was promptly ordered and ready for pick up earlier than expected, I was given a full introduction and taught all of the functions of my vehicle. I have been in for my first servicing and had no issues. I still feel like I got a satisfactory deal on my vehicle from good people 4 months later- and that doesn't often happen with a vehicle purchase. “Thank you for the great service team Surrey! I went to the dealership when I had a recent vehicle accident, and I was very stressed out. Ann was the first person I dealt with and she was fantastic, very understanding and empathetic. She made sure I had a loaner car right away, she took the extra time to help me locate my car on the lot and to have a look at the damage. Her great sense of humor really helped out in a stressful situation. Paul in the body shop was very great to deal with as we tried to figure out the issues with the vehicle. Turns out I decided that it wasn't worth it to fix the car. A day or so later I was looking on the website and saw a vehicle I was interested in. I went to the lot and I met Mustafa, He was super friendly and he was very responsive to my story. We went for a test drive and I decided I wanted the

vehicle but it was a bit over my budget. I didn't feel like bargaining so I just told him what I could afford and he worked out the deal with me at my price, no pressure! There was a dent and scrape on the front corner of the vehicle (quite noticeable), and I was fine with that considering I got the price I wanted. We closed the deal and I left the lot and planned to pick up the car the next day. Mustafa called me and told me that the GM has decided that they were not going to let the car off the lot with the damage, and they were going to fix it for me at their expense. I was actually blown away as I did not expect this at all :). I am very very happy with everything that happened during the week it took me to sort all this out. A huge thanks to, Ann, Paul, Moe, the GM and even the lovely girl who helped me with my ICBC insurance, and especially to Mustafa to whom I will refer anyone I know who is looking for a vehicle. “As a working professional in my forties I've bought quite a few new vehicles in my life, both foreign and domestic, but this was my first time considering a Hyundai. I researched quite a bit online and decided to buy a 2017 Santa Fe 2.0T Limited and also knew just what accessories I wanted. I went to several Hyundai dealerships in the lower mainland and the experience was less than stellar, quite frustrating to say the least. Just getting a straight answer was very difficult. When I went to Surrey Hyundai and met the salesman Cam Henderson he came across as very sincere, professional and knowledgeable. I then dealt with the finance & warranty manager Sam Abunnadi and although I didn't originally plan to buy an extended warranty he convinced me in the value of it as well as the appearance protection package. I'm glad I purchased them both through Sam, he wasn't pushy and explained all the warranty and protection packages very well. I also dealt with two managers, Martin Choi who helped me with the Android Auto and was very knowledgeable and helpful, and Jeff Rae who helped me when I brought my new car back to get my accessories installed, both were great. “This place can serve as a reminder what a true free market win-win business experience is supposed to be like. Our sales rep Charles was awesome, very polite and professional, yet friendly and easygoing. There was no pressure put on us whatsoever. My wife and I bought a pre-owned Elantra for a very fair price. After we paid for the car, we were going to pick it up in the morning after cleaning and detailing. That night we noticed a tire scratch on the car add photos that escaped us when we initially looked at them. The next morning, I came in to pick up the car. It was waiting for me in the showroom with a giftwrap around it. Completely cleaned up and detailed on a Sunday morning. “Just purchased a 2017 WRX, first new car purchase in my life and I couldn't be happier. Let's skip the car review, as we all know it's as powerful as it is sexy. I can't say enough good things about the sales person Phil Hines and his manager Colin. It all started when I walked in on a Sunday about 2 months ago. They were short staffed and loaded with customers, however Phil

fit me in on the fly and let me test drive a WRX within 10 minutes of walking in. I absolutely loved the car and at the time owned a Honda Civic. After having my car appraised by the dealership, it was clear that I would get more return by selling it privately opposed to trading it in. Without any pressure to trade in my car or buy the WRX, Phil offered to wash and vacuum my Civic for free to help me sell it privately. Sure enough, as promised, I arrived the following day and he delivered on his promise, again without any sales pressure. Over the course of 2 months, I endeavored to sell my civic. Phil kept in touch, though I'm pretty sure I contacted him far more than he did me, to ensure he still had a WRX in stock! I finally sold my car and was ready to purchase a WRX. I promptly contact Phil to arrange to come in, however again it was very last minute on my part (due to shear excitement to get out of a civic and into a WRX). Nonetheless, I was well accommodated and he got the ball rolling. I wasn't able to pick up the vehicle right away and was rather busy that weekend so the transaction had to wait until Monday. Phil and Colin helped me out yet again by giving me a loaner car for a couple days free of charge until I could come in and sign over the WRX. I will be writing a formal commendation to both Jim Pattison and Subaru Canada, as this is the customer experience and sales model they should aspire to have throughout the organization. What more can I say other than I am impressed and will be referring friends, family and colleagues to Jim Pattison Victoria Subaru.”

“Helped us out of a massive jam! Here's what happened: We planned to go on a 4k KM road trip of BC with our 2012 Volvo XC60. The car was parked outside the house and I got up early to turn the car around for easier loading. After loading we piled into the car ready to start our trip. However, the start button didn't work! Volvo roadside assistance sent a tow truck which jump started the car. We then drove to Surrey Volvo to find out what happened and try and save our two-week road trip. Surrey Volvo service was completely booked up but upon hearing our situation the service manager dropped everything to repair our car, even dispatching a car to pick up a new alternator from Surrey to North Vancouver!
