Resolved QuestionShow me another How to fix the click noise from my left knee?I get a clicking sound every time I climb a step. There is no sound while coming down. It is coming from the top part of my left knee. There is no pain and I am able to do regular physical activities (run, play sports etc.). Is this something that I should be concerned about?

I had a similar issue some time back (few months) but it went away (not sure what knee).

I am an active person who plays a lot of sports. I have started to favor this knee and am putting more pressure on the other one. Can I damage it further if I continue these activities?

What can I do to fix this? Best Answer - Chosen by AskerI would suggest trying to add joint and ligament supplements to buffer the joints and surrounding tissue. Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Hyaluronic acid and MSM are good supplements. Your omega supplements are also beneficial. Water obviously is important. I had a patient who did martial arts and ingested a tablespoon of oil to help lubricate his joints.by Andrew Wolfe,LMPDo I have CHRONIC back pain?I have back pain but I'm not really sure what chronic means. I have scoliosis and 2 disks in my lower back and rubbing together and causing pain. I also get pain in my upper back. Basically I have to see a chiropractor for an adjustment once a week until my spine if fixed.Until my back is fixed and I no longer have pain, do I have whats considered CHRONIC back pain? Andrew Wolfe reply: Chronic means long term or on-going whereas acute is short term. You can an acute episode from a chronic problem or flair up in a condition.I would consider your back condition a lifestyle management condition, yes if you want to label it "chronic" you can. You happen to have the challenge of setting forth a lifestyle strategy to care for your back. Proper nutrition, exercise and care need to be in place if you wish to create a quality of life. Although I know may people with scoliosis who go un treated. It can be progressive. Watch your body posture as much as possible. Don't discount muscle integrity. Most people consider chiropractors but massage therapy is a viable option as well. MRI results, help me understand what they mean please?Andrew Wolfe replied: Moderate disc space loss at c5 and c6Broad posterior disc bulge at C5 and c6left posterior/lateral disc extrusion at c6 and c7compromise of the bilateral c5 neural foramen and left c6 neural foramen Moderate is average -medium.

The disc space is measure here. The space should be well established and not too narrow or separated for good spine health.

Posterior is the back. A bulge is when the fluid in the disk pushes outside the area it is suppose to be contained in.

Extrusion is the back side of the disk and to the side (lateral) where it is expanded.

Compromised (less than normal) both sides (bilateral) of the lower position of the neck.

Everyone has some compromise degeneration of the spine. It is made worse with trauma and age (use).

Your doctor should discuss what exactly this means and set forth a game plan. These are your results after all! Stretching, massage, physical therapy and perhaps chiropractic care made be implemented based on need.

Is intestinal bruising an issue after a car accident?my son had an accident. the air bag went off, he has had cat scan, ultrasounds, blood work. they find nothing but he is in severe pain. They have him on 5 pain meds including morphine. as long as he is on the meds he feels ok, as soon as they wear off he is in severe pain. They think it might a bruised intestine. what can it be or what could happenAndrew Wolfe replied:Soft tissue injury will not show up on an x ray. X rays are good are finding broken bones, it will not discover the muscle tear or inflammation that occur with a motor vehicle accident injury. If he has bruising at his abdominal region is a sign of direct trauma. The intestines are protected. Depending of the velocity of the impact and the impact of other structures around him is subject to the trauma he receives. Since the air bag deployed I would say the pain is stemming primarily from soft tissue injury. The lap belt can create pelvis pain. This again would be evident with bruising. He needs massage therapy to alleviate the inflammation and tenderness. When he sees the therapist he should have taken medication to alleviate any extra discomfort. So you are someone else needs to drive him. I would suggest ice for help with the inflammation. If it were my son I would suggest taking ANICA it is a natural remedy (homeopathic) to help with bruising and trauma. And don't forget to drink plenty of water to help with his healing. It will take time to heal. Source(s):http://www.accidentrecoverynw.comSevere back pain please help? For the past few days i have been having this really bad back pain. It started out like the little pain you get from sleeping on one side too long and that sort of pain usually goes away with a massage or by the end of the day. but my pain has been progressivly getting worse. right now it hurts so much i cant even walk straight. i have taken advil and put heat and ice on it but nothing has worked. i was just at the doctors office last week for falling down some stairs and two weeks before that when i had gotten really sick and found out i had strep throat, so i would really like to avoid going to the doctors office if possible. can anyone tell me what this pain is and how i can get rid of it. it hurts even when i dont move and when i do the pain escelates by a lot. im also 17 if that would help. all answers would be appreciated, i really need to get rid of this pain. thanksAndrew Wolfe reply: Your recent fall is a concern to me. You might be feeling the effects of it as an onset from the trauma. I would try to do some gentle stretching to elongate the muscles along the spine and lateral trunk (side bending). Do not hold your breath when you stretch and do so in a warm area without any draft or fan on you, as this will restrict and tighten your muscles even more.I would highly recommend drinking more water. Dehydration can occur even when it is not hot out. Trauma and injury sets up dehydration. Your muscles, tendons and ligaments and even your disk between the spine need more water when you have an injury. Water creates the flushing out of toxins and brings nutrition to the muscles. see my article;http://www.medicalmingle.com/harmonylicensedmassagetherapy/blog/ Source(s):http://www.medicalmingle.com/harmonylicensedmassagetherapy/blog/Serious Pain behing Right Shoulder Blade!!?This pain has been going on for a really long time now, like 2 years or so now. heat helps and massages hurt. it makes my neck hurt and my right arm. Additional Detailswhen i carry a bag on that shoulder, sometimes after holding my arm up for a long time, waking up in the morning sometimes. during activity or even writing every so often. Andrew Wolfe replies:Try looking at your body posture. Lighten your purse! The extra weight on your shoulders can be impacting your Trapezius muscle and levator scapula (the muscle that raises your shoulder up into your neck). This muscle can compress (shorten) with repetitive dysfunction. In other words, by repeating a motion of raising your shoulder, sometimes even subconsciously, it creates a shorten (tightening) of the muscle restricting the motion.Question: What are the best ideas for strengthening weak back muscles?Asked by Karen592 3 days ago8 answers You need to strengthen what is weak in your back. For whole back look at doing back extensions include the opposite muscle the abdominal to keep balance. For upper back the rhomboids (between the shoulder blades) as well as the pectorals (chest muscles). the key is not just to focus on the specific area along but to incorporate other muscles like those surrounding the muscles as well as the opposite to create balance. The legs need to be consider for the low back as well as the chest and the arms to upper back. Don't forget about maintaining proper form whether weight lifting, stretching and doing every day activities. Eliminating irritations to what you are doing with incorrect body position can alleviate some difficulties if you are experiencing pain or uncomfortable ness.
