Vacuum Calculations

Old: L = 5089 mm, tre = 7.9 mm

New: L = 3655 mm, tre = 7.3 mm

Useful for vacuum case. Reduced required thickness, may Eliminate rings.

Option to use Operating Temperatures

Can use Operating temperature instead of Design temperature.

Allowable stresses, Yield strengths and Young‟s modulus at operating temperatures.

Operating metal temperatures are typically lower than the design temperatures.

Converted from Imperial to user units 20,000 psi = 137.90 MPa v/s 138 MPa

Difference is insignificant

Acceptable per ASME Div. 1 GG-1

But not per some inspectors

Solution : New “Metric” database

native “Metric” database

or

Imperial to Metric database.
