The performance produced by Sam T. Polack, for Zenobia TempleShrinerSf was one of the best shows seen in quite awhile. Startingwith an opening Spec containing Bicentennial floats, the acts in-cluded the following stars:Jerichos, comedy leaps; Gossingstigers; The Apollo Duo; Clowns;Pam Rosaire's dogs; The Villams, jugglers; Prince Najvez; De MilleKAO Troupe and Kalmus Duo; Geron-imo, dive; Anderson's LibertyHorses; Rosaire's chimps; TheJordanas; Poldis Troupe, swing;the Diano elephants; Finale spec.

The announcer was Jim Doug-las and the 12 piece band wasdirected by Boom Boom Browning,in fast pased musical selectionsthat accurately cued every act,and worth the cost of admissionto any Circus Fan. Every act wasexcellent and the wardrobe wasfresh-looking and in good taste. The Villams were truly outstand-ing with their lightning fastjuggling and acrobatics, and nev-er missed a trick. Five clean andneatly dressed clowns appearedseveral times, but were not iden-tified by name, but they deservelots of credit.

The Prince Najvez act con-cludes with several bursts offireworks and the dense smoke <hung over the seats during the 15minutes of intermission. Many inthe audience complained becauseit bothered them and their chil- .dren. The irony of it is that ahalf dozen announcements are madeduring the show that "No Smoking. Is Allowed In the Building."

BILLY BARTON • • • •I WOULD LIKE to acknowledge the hospitality ex-

tended to me by show owners and producers when Iwalk onto their lots or into their buildings on behalf ofCR. True, most of these people are friends of longstanding, nevertheless • without their open-door policies, their "tell it as you see it" carte-blance freedom, mycontributions to CR would be spares or dull or both. So, on behalf of Circus Report, Don Marcks. and my-self, our thanks to one and all!

I'm sure readers think I make some of my stories upI don't have to. Show people, God love 'em, are the

craziest crazies in the world. Example: To amuse theirbaby elephant, DONDI, Phil and Francme play hide-,and-seek with her. They hide, and Baby Dondi goeslooking for them, trumpeting wildly!

JOHNNY WALKER helped get my "radar" going toresume "tracking" on the HERRIOTTS. They are withthe DIAMOND S RODEO, and so are newlyweds Mr.and Mrs. Johnny Walker, Jr Someone told me GEEGEE (Engesser) is in Canada....REE and ANDRESWEITZER (Marco Polo) now touring with DISNEYON PARADE m South Africa. Wonder if PELUZA is onthe show? BOBBY KAYE's rapid recovery is beinghailed as a medical miracle.

KEEPER OF THE FLAMES: Due to faulty wiringthe meat freezer on a Hoxie cage truck caught fire, burned up. It was replaced and eight days later burnedagain GARY HENRY started out on a Hoxie Paraderecently, but by the time he reached the end of it. themotor in his Comedy Car burned up, ignited the car it-self, and now Gary is carrying the charred frame aroundm his pick-up.

FLO OLSON picked herself up, dropped herselfdown - In Europe IGINIO BOGINO, now a chef forHyatt House may be transferred to D.C ROSIOTHERON publicity-stunted from a trapeze attached toa hot air balloon for the Garden-Johnson L.A. debutKOCKA-POLDIS and the STANEKS will hype PolackBros., Utah dates with a teeterboard display.

What's this I hear about DON BASHAM breaking ina new act at Trenton recently? If you want to feellike a "third wheel" hang around JIM DOUGLASS andPHIL CHANDLER when they get off on a magic kick!

Agent GIL MILLER visited m Toledo and introducedus to his lovely wife, BERNICE.

BRENDA and BUZZY CUTTIN played the twoweek Canadian run for Clyde Bros Brenda pacted tocaptain my all-girl productions for that new tenter in'77. I am doing two and using 14 girls Ex-Digger PughGirl, EVELYN KENT (once married to Ringhng highwire artist DOVAL), is remarried, has two kids andteaches kindergarten in Bradenton. Doval is also re-married, performing in Europe.

DEREK ROSAIRE has his Wonder Horse "Tony"at the Flamboyan Hotel in Puerto Rico, featured m a

musical show called ROMAN NIGHTS leave it tothose clever Zoppes to come up with a new rmkle! Joe,Peggy, Roger and company are adding - GET THIS • achimp to their riding act*

BRADD FRANK tells me his mother PATSY has re-covered from her recent operation and is back m actionon the COMMERFORD & SHEA units. That show, inci-dentally, has some FANTASTIC miniature circus wagons

HOXIE's big show has been blessed by great weather, not one muddy lot and only one day of heavy rain - Ishould say night since it happened after the show wasover.

PAMELA ROSAIRE is a busy gal. She makes theWallenda, Bill Kay and Texas dates this year and issigned with Castle for '77 EMIL GOETCHI (De Millelplans a new magazine patterned after Europe's famedECHO - to run semi-annually Understand midgetclown JUNE DEWSBURY is working for friends inCalifornia.

GEORGE HUBLER contracted TOMMY HANNE-FORD's package for a run of dates in Kentucky, dittoSANDY DOBRITCH for his Super Circus tour ComicImpressionist FRANK (Nursie) RODERICK, well knownto many circus folks, won an "Entertainer of the Year"award in the east Aside to Bob and Doris Earl: I justmissed catching your ROBERTS BROS. CIRCUS byONE day1 I promise to be on your lot SOON!

My grapevine hums with news that the Mantle ofSuccess of some recent Hanneford promotions must beworn by that talented team WALLY & CHERYL, whoseadvance publicity and hard work resulted in boosting anotherwise sagging box office.

Okay, Kiddies, I know you're busy putting it up andtearing it down and hightailing it over the highway BUTkeep those letters rolling as well. REMEMBER this isYOUR newspaper, created by and existing through yourpersonal NEED So, get with it! Write, wire or phone, tend smoke signals, or hop on your CB, but keep thenews flowing and also REMEMBER that Circus Re-port cares about only one thing: YOU!

See you down the road luvs.

Originally the idea was con-ceived by Gil Gray. The idea wasfurther developed by the Garden-Johnson Circus and at last reportthe show was being handled by aMexican producer.

While the circus is plannedto appeal to the Los Angeles areaSpanish speaking residents, it isdoubtful that they could fullysupport it. At the best only afew vague ads have appeared inthe papers and contrary to otherreports there has been no wide-spread publicity campaign for theshow's appearance.
