PREMIER LEAGUE COED SOCCER

By: Carlos Leon, Laura Arroyo and Faith Ramos With the sun coming to a rise and as the heat intensifies on a Saturday morning, Chelsea and Fire start to make their way onto the field. As Chelsea goes down the field with the ball, they head straight for the net making it past the Fire defense. Antonio Bombe and Alex Cohen put a lot of pressure on the goalie with their offense. As the Fire were rushing for the ball, Anaiz Chorne and Lily Cohen would always set themselves up to get in their path, trying to take the ball away. However, Fire defense Ruby Castro always went for the ball to clear it towards the other side, as Josh Coronel and Ismael Mandujano went down on offense to attempt some scores on the opposing team. Yet, Henry Marshall blocked a ton of goals, defending the net for Chelsea. Giovanni Ariza and David Concepcion had awesome positioning, as they would go down the field with the ball in order to send that ball flying into the goal. As the second half came to a start, Chelsea was going for the defense as Fire took it down the field. Patrick and Colin McLaughlin made sure that the ball was always within their team's reach, passing it to assist their team by securing the ball for the team. Near the end of the game, Josh Coronel bypasses the other team and, with the ball, launched the ball into the net to win the game for his teammates. Playing for Chelsea was Henry Marshall, Anaiz Chorne, Antonio Bombe, Lily Cohen, Alex Cohen, Patrick McLaughlin, and Colin McLaughlin. Playing for Fire was Josh Coronel, Giovanni Ariza, Ismael Mandujano, David Mandujano, and Ruby Castro. As we get into the second and final match of the day, despite the hot weather everyone seemed ready to play a long game. Starting off the ball, Arsenal played with some really good ball movement. Jenna Palumbo and Edward Galino passed well along their half of the pitch with the ball to make sure that it stays in their possession. Eric Baltazar was a powerhouse for his team scoring to take the lead. However, the Rapids did not give up easily. With some beautiful footwork from Giovanni Ariza and Kade Kielnik, they were able to relentlessly go for the goal and tie the game. But Arsenal wasn't going to let them take shots as Miracle Culver and Tristan Garcia made sure the ball stayed cleared from their goal. A beautiful kick from Noah Kharouf lifted the ball upwards past the goalie and a defender towards Rosie Palacios as she kicked the ball into the net finishing the cross pass. The pair would later go on to score another goal each. With the Rapids in the lead, Arsenal persistently went for the ball and, once again, share their excellent ball movement. Leonardo Esparza would knock the ball over to the other side of the court while Justin Mayoral ran for the ball with vigor. As the game ended with the Rapids standing on top of the match, both teams made a big impression on Saturday. Playing for the Rapids were Noah Kharouf, Rosie Palacios, Kade Kielnik, David Concepcion, and Giovanni Ariza. Playing for Arsenal is Jenna Palumbo, Miracle Culver, Tristan Garcia, Edward Galino, Justin Mayoral, Eric Baltazar, and Leonardo Esparza. On a sunny and hot Tuesday afternoon, the Fire and Arsenal went face to face on a very intense game of soccer. Starting as goalie for Arsenal was Leonardo Esparza and across the field, the Fire had Aiden Heinrich in goal. Arsenal won the kick off and the game had begun. Just minutes into the game, Ismael Mandujano had the ball and with good control of it, he then kicked the ball right between the goalie's legs for the goal and the early lead. The Fire had the lead but Arsenal didn't give up, Eric Baltazar and Miracle Culver both were great at following the ball and making sure the ball wasn't on their side of the field. The first half came to an end and the Fire still had the lead 1-0. The second half started and Arsenal had Eric Baltazar as goalie and Fire had Ismael Mandujano in goal. The second half was electrifying, Justin Mayoral and Tristan Garcia from Arsenal showed great moves on the field and had quality chances but Alani Perez. From the Fire did not allow their moves get pass her, she as well showed great moves on clearing the ball while on defense. About half way in the second half David Mandujano from the Fire received an amazing pass from his teammate Aiden Heinrich that led to another Fire goal. With Fire having the lead, Arsenal kept pushing and pushing but the final whistle blew giving the Fire a 2-0 win. Playing hard for Arsenal was Eric Baltazar, Miracle Culver, Tristan Garcia, Leonardo Esparza, and Justin Mayoral. Playing great for the Fire was Joshua Coronel, Alani Perez, Ismael Mandujano, David Mandujano, Aiden Heinrich, Ruby Castro, and Emani DeShon.

This past Thursday Premier Arsenal and Chelsea went head to head for a very intense game of soccer. But within minutes of the game Lilly Cohen was able to score two goals from her team, with the assist from Antonio Bombe. But it wasn't easy with Erick Baltazar always being close behind stealing the ball when they least expect it. Arsenal did a great job with passing the ball around, especially Edward Galino who was always keeping track of the ball. Late during the half Leonardo Esparza was able to score two goals and match up to Chelsea's score. Going into the second half both teams were determined to be the first to take the lead. Patrick McLaughlin took the net for Chelsea and Edward Galino for Arsenal. Henry Marshall was giving it all he had and was showing great hustle. On the other side, Justin Mayoral did a great job at helping out the goalie and defending the net. Leonardo Esparza was able to score two more goals, but minutes later Antonio Bombe had tied the game back up with two goals taking the ball up the field with Colin McLaughlin to find the open shot. Starting in the second half, Alejandro Almaraz was in goal for Chelsea. Joseph Juarbe remained in the goalie position for Arsenal during the second half. With Arsenal taking possession of the ball, Sofia Juarbe used a power kick to advance the ball down the field to the opposing teams net. Defensive player Ashley Lopez was able to play the ball back to her teammates, where Adriel Rodriguez was able to receive the pass. From there he worked with Kevin Hernandez to maneuver through Manchester United's defense, where Kevin Hernandez attempted a shot at the net. Goalie Carlos Leon was quick on his feet to block the ball from ever crossing his goal line. Attention Drivers!

Summer Driving Rules! 1. We have 1 entrance and exit to the parking lot. It is the same!

2. All drivers should follow the arrows when entering and exiting the parking lot. It keeps everyone moving and creates a safer environment for our families.

3. We only have 35 parking spots in the lot - always assume you will not get one!

4. We have parking available on both sides of Irving Park Rd.

5. Never drive past the RED LINE! This is where the children walk, play, enter and exit the building. It is not a place for cars. The only cars allowed past the red line are the Revere Park employees driving to their parking area.

6. NEVER double park! Your excuse of I’m just running in to get my child is not valid. Find a Legal Parking Spot and then pick up or drop off your child. All of our children are important and their safety is at risk when YOU do not follow the rules.

7. NEVER park in the Fire Lane. The lane must be open at all times in case of an emergency (see #4 about excuses, legal parking and following rules)

8. NEVER park at the end of the middle rows next to the playground. (see #2 & #4 the turn is needed to allow for all cars to exit safely and blocking this row will cause cars to backup, possibly cause an accident and probably hurt a child.)

9. If you are NOT handicapped - Do Not Park In the Handicapped Spots! And the excuse of “well if they come, I will move..” - REALLY! They already found a legal spot and are struggling to make their way to the building. Shame on you!! ALSO parking in between the Handicapped spots is NOT LEGAL!
