Conclusions

• Individuals identify threats at multiple levels. These

threats are related but also distinct

• Some of the determinants of perceptions of threats are

common but there is also systematic variation.

• There is also variation in how different levels of threat

affect political attitudes, political behaviour, and policy

preferences
