Central Question

How can we increase instructional time, alleviate the testing burden, AND continue to gather data to help us recognize and respond to

student, teacher, school, and district needs?

School Improvement Priorities

• Instructional: All students need daily opportunities to demonstrate learning in small, flexible groups differentiated by readiness.

• Equity: All students need teachers to have high expectations for their learning.

• Social Emotional Learning: All students need to learn in safe, respectful classrooms, where a relationship between the teachers and students is evident.

Technology Update• Chromebooks in Grades 3-5

• Will be sending home a “technology contract” so that students, parents and teachers have a clear agreement about the rights and responsibilities that come with Chromebook use, and the consequences that will occur if responsibilities are not met.

• Meeting with teachers to determine the best use of the Chromebooks and the types of activities that support the curriculum and classroom procedures.

• Technology should enhance classroom instruction, not take the place of it, or take the place of student to student and teacher to student interaction.
