Jumpstart
Jumpstart (some may know as Headstart) has a chapter at ISU.
It's goal is to ensure that children are prepared to enter kindergarten and the educational path that follows.
The commitment a school year long or 300 service hours.
Jumpstart can be worked as class credit, for work study, or for volunteer hours.
Americorps (a huge Jumpstart supporter) provides an educational stipend at the end of the 300 hours.
Jumpstart Corps members will work with groups of pre-school aged children and provide them with knowledge of social, reading, etc., skills.
