[email protected] 03 9682 3191The Units You Study:Folio UnitsApplying Creativity in Photographic Practice (Sem A)Develop Personal Photographic Style (Sem B)The feedback and discussion between students, peers andteachers is continued in these folio development units asyou develop and refine more complex ideas.

In second semester your creative application continues andemphasis is given to developing a more personal style.

Studio UnitsApply Studio Lighting Techniques (Sem A &B)This is an introduction over two 8 week blocks (one each semester)to basic artificial lighting using tungsten light tool. You completethe underpinning aspects of understanding the studio environment,lighting equipment and operating safely in a studio environment.

Post Production UnitsApply Digital Imaging & Printing Processes and Use TonalControls (Sem A)Workflow and raw processing are continued together with tonaladjustments and good standard printing.

Manage Colour in a Digital Environment (Sem B)Using colour management tools and settings effectively in order to control colour consistency.

About the Course:Advanced Diploma of PhotographyPSC’s unique part time program for delivering the AdvancedDiploma of Photography course is the result of years of working in aclose, positive and productive partnership with industry. The course isdelivered in a supportive, practical environment ensuring thattechnical and specialised skills are built on from foundation toprofessional level. Initially exploring photographic genres, technique,camera craft and post production students build skills in capture,lighting location and studio. In final year students choose a major incommercial, art or photojournalism and integrate business studiesand the mentor program.

(Please note that the timetabling of units will vary for each year level andstage of the course.)

PSC Bachelor of PhotographyPathway Program for GraduatesOnce you graduate from the AdvancedDiploma of Photography course, you will beeligible to upgrade your qualification to thePSC Bachelor of Photography via our pathwayprogram which is offered for graduates.

At PSC you have the use of equipment and facilities duringrelevant classes for course requirements.

Equipment & Materials:You need:• DSLR camera• 2 or 3 USB external hard drives• tripod

StudioYou need a brand name portable flash, filters, really good valuememory cards, tripod, sync cord and light metre. PSC offers studiokits for purchase from the PSC shop or online via our website.

There's an access fee for Studio Access outside class times, costsvary from $30–$75 per session.

Post Production We recommend access to your own computer and Adobesoftware. A textbook may be required.

FolioThe semester folio provides you with a great outcome semester,something to share with friends and family. To achieve this thereare a few material costs to allow for including paper stock,printing, backing board and mount board of between $300 – $600 these vary according to individual folio decisions (eg currently oneA4 print at PSC costs between $10 – $12 depending on the paperstock used).

Please note tuition fees are payable annually and these tuition fees are for your enrolmentperiod only.

Equipment,materials and excursions are not included in tuition fees. Fee reviews are conducted annually to allow for theincreased cost of operation. These tuition fees are for Stage 2 tuition only.

RPLPSC offers a recognition of prior learning (RPL) process. Further information is availablefrom the Coordinator Communications & Students.
