cv curves connecting adjacent normal vectors
normal vectors at vertices
normal vectors to corresponding points
beginning with existing three voronoi diagrams with corresponding offset points, create normal vectors at vertices of pods that span from the plane in the z direction to the height of the corresponding point. from each normal vector, create cv curves from 4 points: 1. the uppermost point on one normal vector, 2. the base of that vector, 3. the base of a connected normal vector, and 4. the uppermost point on that normal vector. the result strings the vertices together, pulling them out of the ground.

h = o.1 x awhere h = height of extrusion, a = area of pod
beginng with the 3 voronoi diagrams, the longest edge of each pod is extruded by 10% of the pod’s total area. the top extruded edge is lofted/joined with an adjacent edge, based upon the number of sides(s) the pod contains. as the pod grows, so does the height of its edge, directly responding to the spread and severity of the drought condition.

beginning with 1 of the 3 voronoi diagrams, a surface is created from each individual pod. rebuilding the surfaces with one central spine and many perpendicular spans, the pod is deformed in the z direction via control points, reaching to the height of the points that generated the voronoi. the flat planes are given fluid, 3-dimensional qualities, resembling waves of water.
