We used a school bag because it helps to establish the age of the characters. It can also be used as an object which the audience can relate to and therefore relate to the characters more.

These are props and objects that we used in our music

video.

We used a car as a main plot point is that Sophie has been run over, we chose this car because it is the size, model and make of a typical student car. This again establishes the age of the characters and makes them more relatable.

We used a bench as it is a generic signifier of romantic or tragic music videos and films, for example French Kiss, the poster for this romantic comedy has to two leads sitting on a bench. Most audience members will be aware of this an so the use of the bench could evoke emotions from them.

We used placards with the words “London” and “Betrayal” on, we used these to signify that Sophie was hitchhiking but also that she had been betrayed by someone. The repetitious use of these placards will reinforce the themes of the music video. Also

many people can relate to being betrayed by someone they trusted and so this is another way that the audience can relate to the characters.
