Graduation project "Project Postcard" Occasion: The “Bundeshandelsakademie (BHAK) Grazbachgasse“ is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year (1863-2013). Who: Emanuel Hermann, who initiated the introduction of postcards in Austria, was a teacher at our school. What: “Postcards are rectangular cards usually made of cardboard, sent as openly readable messages via mail. In a digitalized time, postcards have lost their importance as a medium for communication as it has been replaced by electronic devices.“ We – Alexander, Julia, Karim, Sebastian and Teresa – students at the BHAK Grazbachgasse want to focus on the importance of communication and especially postcards’ functions in terms of economy, sociology and culture within our graduation project “Project Postcard”. For this purpose we need your help in sending a birthday postcard to our school. This may be a postcard with a quote or a personalized one. Creativity knows no bounds, but you should keep the following criteria in mind: 1. The postcard should contain a birthday greeting to the school. 2. It would be best if the message was written in the local language. 3. The postcard can be sent from individuals, institutions or school classes. 4. It would be good if you put a stamp on it. An independent jury will choose the 15 best designed postcards out of them all (by submitting the postcards you automatically agree to publication and voting). Then a vote on Facebook will decide the winner from the 15 selected cards. The winner will receive books and other prices. Everyone can learn about the history and current status of “Project Postcard” via Facebook.
