    II. RATIONALE

    Part of the general objectives for Corporate Services, Information, Education and Communications,and Social Development Programs is the creation of a favorable corporate image for CJH DevCothrough an aggressive public relations campaign that would lead to a positive public understandingand appreciation of the Camp John Hay project.

    To be able to achieve this, there is a need to ensure, maintain and strengthen working relationshipswith all media practitioners and their media outfits. This would be enhanced further with the creationof a program distinctively for media practitioners.

    It has been noted that media organizations have so far failed in providing for the welfare of theirmembers, allowing themselves to evolve into mere occasional social clubs. There is therefore a

    felt need to organize a genuine media group that will not only serve media practitioners and theiroutfits, but strengthen our corporate relationships with them.

    III. CONCEPT

    It is in this light that the creation of a Camp John Hay Press Corps is proposed, with the followingobjectives:

    1. Create a responsive organization among media practitioners that will look after their ownwelfare;

    2. Put a premium on media loyalty to CJH DevCo through fringe benefits from the companyand other Camp John Hay entities or businesses; and,

    3. Maintain and strengthen ties with media to facilitate information traffic.

    The Camp John Hay Press Corps shall operate as an organization separate and distinct fromCamp John Hay entities, but with the guidance and supervision of concerned CJH DevCo offices. Itshall elect its own set of officers, who shall have their own programs of government, activities andevents.

    Membership shall entitle media practitioners and their outfits to benefits like free or discounted useof Camp John Hay facilities, access and discounts in participating CJH outlets, or preferentialtreatment in information dissemination, and the like. CJH DevCo shall issue Press IdentificationCards that double as discount/access cards.
