INDEPENDENT remotely operated vehicle (ROV) provider Rovop has been awarded £3 million ($4.36 million) worth of new contracts, which sees the company expanding into two new territories.

For the first time Rovop will complete projects in South East Asia and Mexico, signalling success for both its Aberdeen and Houston bases.

The company has also announced the appointment of Neil Francis as Vice President of Business Development in Houston.

Neil brings over 20-years of ROV experience to the role, having held various commercial and operational positions, and will drive and lead Rovop’s business growth in the US. Chief executive, Steven Gray, said: “The market remains challenging but our ability to save operating costs for our customers, while using the best equipment and personnel on the market, means we continue to enjoy regular contract wins.

“These awards further encourage the successful establishment of our Houston office last year and build on the completion of several workscopes in the US Gulf of Mexico and Central and South America over the past three years.

“Rovop has reduced its pricing to ensure we are competitive and meet our client’s requirements in this challenging market. The chal-lenge the industry faces should not be underestimated but we are work-ing to reduce costs for customers by reducing vessel time and increase efficiency.”

Commercial director, Euan Tait, explained the addition of Mr Francis to the Rovop team will be key:

“Neil’s appointment will act as a catalyst for our future ambitions. He has exceptional experience and knowledge of the industry. His role as vice president of Business Development will further improve our reputa-tion of providing excellence to our customers and is an important part of our plans to step into new territories to further strengthen our position.”

Rovop is an independent company dedicated to providing the best possible Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) services to the offshore energy industry.

The redevelopment is part of a comprehensive plan implemented to raise ef-ficiency of producing fields as well as implementation of various well drilling programs to increase crude oil reserves. Project status

March 2016: Prequalifying documents have been submitted along with the announcement of ITB for Feed on phase 2, which is expected to materialise 2nd quarter of 2016 should the project push through.

Aker solutions has four weeks to reduce costs for phase 2.Project scope

The scope of the scheme involves:• Includes new offshore central production facilities and a new onshore gas liquids processing facility at Mesaieed.

• Massive drilling campaign of about 150 new wells between now and the year 2028.• New wells will be drilled from the existing/modified well-head jackets, as well as from 14 new wellhead jackets. Both new and modified wellhead jackets, in addition to associated production and injection flow-lines, will form parts of the project works.• All wellheads stream fluids will be processed in the new offshore central complex, comprising of produc-tion, compression, utility and living quarter platforms, with topsides weight ranging from 4,000 to 14,000 tonnes. • Produced oil will be sent to Halul Island for export.• The produced sour rich gas of about 900 million cu-bic feet per day will travel via a new 150-kilometre subsea pipeline to a new gas treatment facility in Me-saieed for products recovery• Lean sweet gas will be sent via a new subsea pipeline back to the new off-shore facilities for compression and injection.• Redevelopment project will replace some of Bul Ha-nine field’s offshore facilities.Project financeQatar Petroleum (QP) is the client.Project schedule Feasibility Study Q2-2014EPC ITB Q4-2015Construction Q3-2017Completion Q1-2028
