Project management.The design and construction of ventilated facades with XLIGHT slabs by URBATEK, are complex challenges in which architecture and engineering go hand in hand to create the building envelope. In any case, we can sum up the work in the following stages:

· General project of the building, with specification of the areas to be covered with ventilated facade. Selection of the type of substrate for the building skin, and thermal insulation for it.

· Choosing of model and format of XLIGHT ceramics by URBATEK.

· Initial design of the facade determining position of the ceramic, placement joints, and trims, along with the rest of elements that make up the facade.

· Adapting measurements and positions of the different elements in the façade, to the modulation of the XLIGHT ceramic by URBATEK.

· Technical project of the facade which includes the position of each of the elements that make it up.

· Design of the construction details of the ventilated facade, as well as of its singular points.

· Technical specifications with calculations justifying the correct behavior of the system to the foreseen stresses.

Butech’s Technical Department offers the clients of PORCELANOSA Group the following services:

· Technical consultancy for adapting the XLIGHT ventilated facade system to the requested project.

· Initial design or lay-out of the façade.

· Technical project of the façade, with the position of each facade element.

· Development of construction details for final project of the ventilated facade.

· Depending on the project, a CGI of the facade.

· Static load, and wind pressure and suction technical calculations.

· Material supply estimate, technical assistance, and installation of the ventilated facade.

· Depending on the agreement, technical assistance at work site.

· Depending on the agreement, installation of the ventilated facade:Initial construction layout.Installing the ventilated façade substructure.Installing the thermal insulation layer.Installing the XLIGHT slabs by URBATEK.Cutting and machining of ceramics on site.Building site final cleaning.

For the above procedure, it is necessary to fill out the study sheet along with the delivery of the corresponding project drawings.

Ventilated facades.

XLIGHT slabs by URBATEKXLIGHT stoneware porcelain slabs in +3 mm formats up to 100 x 300 cm, back-reinforced by a fiberglass mesh that enhances the slab’s flexural strength.

The large size of this type of porcelain tile, its zero water absorption, its resistance to atmospheric agents, its lightness with less than 10.5 kg/m2as well as its design, make the XLIGHT slabs an excellent solution for all types of facades.

XLIGHT placement in facades requires qualified personnel. It is only recommended to use professionals with proven experience in this type of work.

Follow the instructions of the site management, and check the information in data sheets or packaging before using any product. Using the appropriate tools for each type of work is essential.

Comply with occupational safety regulations.

Choose the XLIGHT slab format between the sizes available: 300 x 100 and 100 x 100 cm. We only recommend 3 mm thick slabs back-reinforced with fibreglass mesh.

Determine the position of the slabs, the placement joint width (5 or 8 mm), and the facade modules. Adapt the measurements of all facade elements to reduce the number of cuts and material breakage.

Check that the base or placement substrate is stable, non-deformable, and with no risk of cracking. The base cannot have deviations equal to or greater than 3 mm per meter vertically, and equal to or greater than 10 mm per 2 meters horizontally.

Determine the final level of the facade, taking into account loss of verticality, overhangs, or any element that protrudes from the facade’s vertical line.

Heed structural joints and consider making expansion joints.

The vertical section axes will be installed depending on the slab dimensions, at a distance equal to or less than 60 cm.

Choose separators of the right length for each point of the façade and install them aligned vertically, distributed between floor slab edges with a distance not exceeding 90 cm.

In seismic areas, double the number of primary separators on floor slab edges.

Screw the vertical sections to the separators in the apposite hole for each case: circular in the upper primary separators, and mounting hole for the rest.

Check that the sections are perfectly aligned and define a perfectly flat structure.

The minimum horizontal joint between adjacent vertical sections will be 2 mm per section meter.

The air chamber must have a minimum space of between 3 and 10 cm to allow a natural upward convection behind the wall covering to take place.

The total effective area of ventilation openings shall be 120 cm2 for every 10 m2 of façade area between floor slabs.

The thermal insulation thickness and properties will be defined as per the project.

Apply a p-404 adhesive bead on the vertical sections and the area where the ceramic will be touching.

Place the XLIGHT slabs on the putty while it is still fresh, and install the right clip for each case. Each slab will be fixed by 4 clips placed on each corner, plus one clip every 60 cm horizontally.

The vertical joint shall be ≥ 1 mm, while the horizontal joint shall be from 5 to 8 mm depending on the clip used.

Determine the technical solution for the lower strip of the façade: doubling the number of vertical sections or bonding the XLIGHT slabs directly to the base (see XLIGHT bonded façade document).

Determine the type of dressing to carry out: XLIGHT ceramic or metallic carpentry.

Check the solutions catalog with the technical department, for each type of critical point.

Load-bearing substructure of the ventilated facade, as per DIT 530/11. It is made up of the following elements:

· Aluminum separators for transmitting loads from the substructure to the supporting wall, using anchors. Available from 60 mm to 160 mm in length. Depending on the type of stress they bear, there are two types of anchors: primary and secondary.

· Vertical substructure of vertical aluminium sections for installing XLIGHT slabs. Available in T-shaped sections (100 mm width) or L-shaped sections (40 mm width).

Mechanical anchorsClips for mechanical anchoring, as per DIT 530/11 design. Manufactured in AISI 304 stainless steel and 1 mm (± 0.15) general thickness, they can be supplied lacquered in the RAL color that the customer needs. There is a wide range of different clips available, which adapt to all facade anchoring needs.

p -404Polyurethane adhesive. It polymerizes in contact with environmental moisture.Specially recommended for bonding ceramic on metal sections.

Self-leveling spacersSpacers are essential when installing quality ceramic; they make work easier and ensure uniform width joints. Currently, there are self-leveling spacers available which facilitate the leveling of the wall covering and avoid ledges between tiles. A special tab has been designed for installing XLIGHT slabs that protects and facilitates the assembly, even with 3.5 mm thick slabs.

XLIGHT ToolsHandling, cutting, and installation of XLIGHT ceramic requires special tools. The essential tools are the following:

XLIGHT Frame / carrier. Aluminum structure of up to 300 cm long, equipped with suction cups for moving large-format pieces.

Cutting guide plus XLIGHT pincers. Tool for cutting XLIGHT ceramic straight, plus pincers for separating marked pieces. It includes diamond point.

The facade is, at the same time, the image of the building and the skin that protects it from the outside.

At present, the ventilated façade is possibly the system that best combines design and technical advantages. This type of construction solution is characterized by the definition of an air chamber that is ventilated to the exterior, where thermal insulation is usually placed, thus improving the building’s thermal efficiency.

XLIGHT Bonded façades · Placement guide

concept XLIGHT panels.3 mm XLIGHT stoneware porcelain tiles, chemically bonded to high-density expanded polystyrene boards, prepared for placing as outdoor ceramic wall covering.

Available in polystyrene thickness starting from 50 mm, and with 1,008 x 3,008 mm format. The polystyrene boards have a tongue and groove joint of 100 mm which makes it possible to avoid thermal bridges when fitting the pieces.

Characteristics:Placeable on slightly irregular supports.Low thermal conductivity coefficient. Excellent thermal insulation.Quick and easy placement in comparison to standard XLIGHT slabs.

XLIGHT placement in façades requires qualified personnel. It is only recommended to use professionals with proven experience in this type of work.

Check the information in data sheets or packaging before using any product. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations. Using the appropriate tools for each type of work is essential.

Comply with occupational safety regulations.

Choose XLIGHT slabs on polystyrene board, such as concept XLIGHT panel.

Designing the building façade taking into account the size and arrangement of the chosen slab. Determine type and color of placement joints, movement joints, and perimeter joints. Placement joints shall be of at least 12 mm.

We recommend covering the top of the façade with a trim that prevents water seepage.

Check that the base or placement substrate is stable, non-deformable, and with no risk of cracking. The base cannot have deviations equal to or greater than 3 mm per meter vertically, and equal to or greater than 5 mm horizontally.

We recommend making a regularization layer with mortar plus latex, unicem type. The placement surface must meet the suitable characteristics for placing ceramic: clean, dry, compact, and flat.

Place the wall tiles with the thin-bed, double bonding method. Apply the adhesive with the trowel, in the same direction on base and slab.

Control the adhesive wettability, pressing the slab on the bonding material, and check that the latter makes a correct contact with the slab back. Use the XLIGHT rubber trowel.

Anchor the concept XLIGHT slabs mechanically to the support, and fit the tongue and groove piece joints.

Use waterproof joint materials, with high adhesion and chemical resistance. Although there are cement-based materials that have these characteristics, as a general rule, epoxy R putty, epotech aqua type is recommended.

Apply the joint material with a rubber trowel, avoiding the formation of bubbles, cracks, or gaps. Do not let the joint material harden on the ceramic, clean when it starts to dry. Do not soak the joint with excess water. Given the intended use, we recommend placing the ceramic with anchors mechanical safety anchors.

Heed the structural joints present in floor slabs.

Make the movement joints following the instructions of the construction technician. In general, do not design areas exceeding 25 m2. Minimum width, 8 mm.

There will be perimeter joints in corners, floor level changes, and changes of material; minimum width: 8 mm.

Handling, cutting, and placement of XLIGHT ceramic requires special tools. These tools are designed for pieces with a format of up to 3,000 x 1,000 mm and thickness of little more than 3 mm. The essential tools for placing XLIGHT ceramic are the following:

XLIGHT Frame / carrier.Aluminum structure of up to 300 cm long, equipped with suction cups for moving large-format pieces.

Cutting guide plus XLIGHT pincers.Tool for cutting XLIGHT ceramic straight, plus pincers for separating marked pieces. It includes diamond point.

Notched trowel and XLIGHT rubber trowel.Notched trowel with 10 mm sloped serrations which facilitates uniform spreading of the adhesive, plus rubber trowel for pressing XLIGHT ceramic on adhesive.

In addition to using the appropriate tool, the following handling instructions are recommended:

· Use protective gloves.· Handle the slabs in groups of at least two people.· Plan any movement before carrying it out.· Avoid rough movements.· Avoid bending the slabs by the middle.· Protect corners with plastic corner protectors.· Transport slabs perpendicular to the ground.· Do not stand slabs directly on the floor. Place the long

side over soft material strips (wood or styrofoam) and stand the short side of the slab on a firm support.

· Before stacking the slabs, clean off any element that may scratch the surface.

Use improved deformable cement-based adhesives C2 TE S2, one-flex type mixed with unilax. The use of fine particle adhesives with high wettability is recommended.

Follow manufacturer recommendations in the preparation and use of adhesives. Do not apply adhesive with a final thickness greater than that indicated on the bag.

The use of XLIGHT specific tools for handling and cutting large-format pieces is recommended.

Protect the façade from adverse weather conditions and other construction works that might damage it.

Efflorescences arise naturally from any mortar containing Portland cement, so it is recommended to avoid that type of mortar.

Use cleaning products that are compatible with the tile’s chemical resistance.

epotech aquaNew line of epoxy putty for grouting tile joints. Specially recommended for application on mosaics and ceramic tiles with relief.

CharacteristicsEasy to apply and clean. This product is free of organic solvents and plasticizers.Excellent joint color stability.Resistance to most chemicals and alkali, even in high concentrations.Waterproof joint, no water absorption.Tile joints up to 12 mm.

Bonded façade anchorsNon-concealed anchors for boards that cannot undergo side machining as XLIGHT. They are placed after positioning the façade, and prevent the detachment of the XLIGHT slab from the polystyrene base.

concept xps panelsExtruded polystyrene panels ready for laying wall tiles, mosaics or natural stone with cement-based adhesives. Available in 4 to 80 mm thick slabs.

Characteristics:Excellent surface for laying tiles.Resistant to dampness; with sealed joints, waterproof.Low thermal conductivity coefficient.No support structure needed.

Recommended use:Preparation of substrates for laying ceramic tiles.Bathroom partition walls.

XLIGHT placement for wall tiles requires qualified personnel. It is only recommended to use professionals with proven experience in this type of work.


Special attention to wall tiles on drywall.

Choose 3+ mm thick XLIGHT slabs.

Placement joints shall be of at least 1 mm. The use of spacers that facilitate wall tile leveling is recommended.

Carry out the construction layout, depending both on the wall tile design and the use demands. Determine type and color of placement joints, cuts, and perimeter joints.

Determine the profiles to use in corners.

Check that the base or placement substrate is perfectly vertical, stable, non-deformable, and with no risk of movements associated to the structures and prefabricated partitions.

The placement surface must meet the suitable characteristics for placing ceramic: clean surface, dry, rough texture with no ledges or loose parts, and particularly flat (slope of 2 mm with 2 m ruler).

We recommend using plasterboard or coated polystyrene panels, concept panel type.

Use improved deformable cement-based adhesives C2 TE S2, one-flex type mixed with unilax. The use of fine particle adhesives with high wettability is recommended.


We recommend the use of the XLIGHT frame with suction cups for moving large-format pieces.

Place the wall tiles with the thin-bed method with adhesive and notched trowel. Verify that there is full contact between the adhesive and the piece base, especially in the corners. It is recommended to carry out double gluing with notched trowel, and apply it in both cases in the same direction.

Control the adhesive wettability, pressing the ceramic on the bonding material, and check that the latter makes correct contact with the tile back. Use the XLIGHT rubber trowel.

Clean placement joints of any element that interferes with the sealing of joints. Use deformable, CG2 cement-based joint materials, colorstuk 0-4 type mixed with unilax latex, with the grain as fine as possible. Good bonding and resistance to humidity are essential.

Apply the joint material with a rubber trowel, avoiding the formation of bubbles, cracks, or gaps. Do not let the joint material harden on the ceramic; clean when it starts to dry. Do not soak the joint with excess water.

Prepare a flat and clean space for making cuts. Choose cutting tools and disks for cutting porcelain, adapted for large format and extra-thin pieces.

XLIGHT Premium placement in flooring requires qualified per-sonnel. It is only recommended to use professionals with proven experience in this type of work.


Special attention should be paid on floors with radiant heating or when placing on existing floors.

Choose XLIGHT Premium Premium slabs with at least 6 mm thickness.

Placement joints shall be of at least 2 mm. The use of spacers that facilitate floor leveling is recommended.

Carry out the construction layout depending both on the floor design and the use demands. Determine type and color of placement joints, cuts, and movement joints.

Determine the type of skirting to use.

Check that the base or placement substrate is stable, non-deformable, and with no risk of movements associated to the cement mortar curing.

It is recommended to make a regularization layer. The placement surface must meet the suitable characteristics for placing ceramic: clean surface, dry, rough texture with no ledges or loose parts, and particularly flat (slope of 3 mm with 2 m ruler).

It is recommended to use self-leveling mortars level 3 type.

Use improved deformable cement-based adhesives C2 S2, super-flex S2 type. The use of fine particle adhesives with high wettability is recommended.


We recommend the use of the XLIGHT Premium frame with suction cups for moving large-format pieces.

Place the floor with the thin-bed method with adhesive and 6-8 mm inclined notched trowel on the substrate and 3 mm on the back of the tile. It is recommended to carry out double gluing with notched trowel, and apply it in both cases in the same direction.

Control the adhesive wettability, pressing the ceramic on the bonding material, and check that the latter makes correct contact with the tile back. Use the XLIGHT Premium rubber trowel or even the XLIGHT Premium vibrator.

Use deformable, type CG2 cement-based joint materials, colorstuk rapid n type. The use of quick drying, water resistant, and reduced elastic modulus joint mortars is recommended.

Apply the joint material with a rubber trowel, avoiding the formation of bubbles, cracks, or gaps. Do not let the joint material harden on the ceramic; clean when it starts to dry. Do not soak the joint with excess water.

Make the movement joints following the instructions of the construction technician, and adapt them to the real conditions of the intended use. In general, do not design areas exceeding 50 m2. The use of deformable profiles is recommended, pro-dilata type, suitable for the intended traffic. Minimum joint width: 8 mm

1 / Zona de trabajo, corte y mecanizado

Preparar un espacio de trabajo plano y limpio para realizar los cortes y colocar la pieza sobre una base firme y completamente nivelada. Elegir herramientas de corte y discos para corte porcelánico adaptados a piezas de gran formato y fino espesor tal como se describe en el apartado inicial de presentación.

Para taladrar las piezas XLIGHT PREMIUM son necesarias brocas de hasta 8 mm de diámetro refrigeradas por agua. Para diámetros mayores, utilizar brocas para corte en seco.

Mecanizar las piezas con máquinas de corte radial y disco porcelánico para corte en seco. Una vez realizados los cortes, pulir los bordes con una esponja abrasiva.

1/ The cutting and machining work area

Make sure that the work surface for cutting the sheets is clean and flat, with a base that is firm and completely level. Use cutting tools and discs for large-format slimline porcelain materials, as described in the opening section.

1 / Zone de travail, découpe et usinage

Préparer un espace de travail plat et propre pour réaliser les découpes et placer la pièce sur une base ferme et complètement nivelée. Choisir des outils de coupe et des disques pour la découpe de grès porcelainé adaptés à des pièces grand format et de faible épaisseur, comme indiqué au point de présentation initial.

Se recomienda utilizar el adhesivo de altas prestaciones, tipo C2 E S2, según EN 12004 de Butech. Este adhesivo de última tecnología, incluye aditivos y polímeros sin necesidad de amasar con aditivos que presenta unas excelentes prestaciones de adherencia que incrementan el rendimiento del saco de 15Kg. Para su preparación se debe tener en cuenta las recomendaciones del fabricante.

Use a high-performance C2E S2 type adhesive by Butech, as per EN 12004. This high-performance adhesive comes ready formulated with additives and polymers, and so it does not have to be mixed with other additives. Thanks to its high bonding strength, each 15kg sack has a greater coverage than normal. To prepare it, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Il est recommandé d'utiliser une colle de hautes prestations, type C2 E S2, selon EN 12004 de Butech. Cette colle de dernière technologie inclut des additifs et des polymères sans besoin de gâchage avec des additifs, présentant des prestations d'adhérence excellentes qui augmentent le rendement du sac de 15Kg. Pour la préparation, on doit tenir compte des recommandations du fabricant.

El soporte o fondo de colocación deberá ser perfectamente plano, estable y no deformable, sin riesgo de fisuración y contracción por fraguado del mortero. Los soportes deberán presentar las siguientes características:

• Planitud de la superficie, comprobar con un regle de 2m. apoyándolo en la placa y solera en todas las direcciones, la tolerancia admitida es de 3 mm. Es fundamental llenar los desniveles con la ayuda de autonivelantes de precisión.

• Ausencia de detritos, piedras y eliminación de grumos de cemento.

• Libre de humedades. Con humedad residual superior al 3% se recomienda su impermeabilización.

• Sin presencia de eflorescencias• Limpieza de polvo, grasa o cualquier otra sustancia que

pueda comprometer la adherencia del material de agarre.

En el caso de fondos de colocación de más de 40 mm y con el objeto de reducir tensiones por movimientos estructurales, se recomienda su desolidarización del soporte, mediante una lámina de polietileno y la realización de una junta alrededor de toda el perímetro del pavimento. En caso contrario se recomienda realizar una solera solidaria con recrecido de mortero.

2 / Preparing the substrate

The substrate where the sheets will be laid should be completely flat, stable and non-deformable, with no risk of cracks or shrinking as the mortar dries. The substrate should have the following characteristics:

• A flat surface, checked with a 2-metre straightedge by resting it on the ceramic sheet and cement screed in all directions. A tolerance of 3 mm is permitted. Any unevenness should be levelled using precision self-levelling materials.

• No debris, stones or lumps of cement. • No damp. If it has a residual moisture of over 3%, the

substrate should be waterproofed• No efflorescence.• No dust, grease or any other substance that might affect

the bonding material’s performance.

In the event of substrates of over 40 mm, in order to reduce stress from structural movements, an unbonded screed should be made on a polythene membrane, inserting a joint around the whole perimeter of the floor. In other cases, a bonded mortar screed should be made.

Dans le cas de fonds de pose de plus de 40 mm et dans le but de réduire les tensions dues à des mouvements structuraux, il est recommandé de les désolidariser du support à l'aide d'une feuille de polyéthylène et de réaliser un joint autour de tout le périmètre du revêtement de sol. Autrement, il est recommandé de réaliser une chape solidaire avec ragréage de mortier.

Para transportar el palet XLIGHT PREMIUM desde el lateral largo, acoplar las uñas en las palas de la carretilla elevadora consiguiendo unas palas, como mínimo, de 120 cm. de longitud.

Si necesitamos transportar el palet desde el lateral corto, se debe acoplar las uñas en las palas de la carretilla elevadora para conseguir unas palas, como mínimo, de 320 cm. de longitud.

Para extraer las piezas del palet utilizamos el bastidor regulable con ventosas, y para conseguir una mejor sujeción es necesario humedecer éstas antes del agarre. Seguidamente, sujetar la pieza entre dos personas.

Fuera del palet las piezas se deben depositar con el máximo cuidado, siendo necesario proteger la pieza tanto en el pavimento como en el revestimiento.

Además de la herramienta y la metodología adecuada, se recomienda seguir las siguientes instrucciones de manipulación:

A) Planificar cualquier movimiento antes de ejecutarlo.

B) Evitar la flexión de las placas por la parte central de las mismas.

C) Utilizar guantes protectores.

D) Manipular las placas en equipos de al menos dos personas.

E)Transportar las placas perpendicularmente al suelo.

F) No apoyar las placas directamente sobre el suelo.

G) Disponer el lado largo sobre tiras de material blando (madera o porexpán) y apoyar el lado corto de la placa sobre un soporte firme.

H) Antes de apilar las placas limpiar bien la superficie de cualquier elemento que pueda rayarla.

When pallets with XLIGHT PREMIUM sheets are carried lengthwise across the forks of forklift trucks, fit extensions to them so that the forks measure at least 120 cm.

If pallets have to be transported widthwise across the forks, fit extensions so that they measure at least 320 cm.

To remove the sheets from the pallet, use the adjustable lifting frame with suction cups. The suction cups must first be moistened to ensure a powerful grip, and the sheets held by two people.

Once the sheets have been removed from the pallet, extreme care must be taken when placing them on the floor. They must be protected when laid on floors and walls.

In addition to using the right tools and methods, the following guidelines must also be observed when handling the sheets:

A) Plan all movements before proceeding to move the sheets.

Pour transporter la palette XLIGHT PREMIUM depuis le côté long, monter les bras de fourche sur les fourches du chariot de levage pour obtenir des fourches d'au moins 120 cm de longueur.

Si l'on a besoin de transporter la palette depuis le côté court, on doit monter les bras de fourche sur les fourches du chariot de levage pour obtenir des fourches d'au moins 320 cm de longueur. Limpieza de restos de obra

Tras la instalación del material cerámico es imprescindible la protección del material para impedir posibles daños hasta la finalización de la obra. Antes de realizar la limpieza final de obra es necesario respetar un tiempo de espera prudencial de 24-48 horas aprox., con el fin de que tenga lugar el correcto fraguado del material de rejuntado. En materiales porcelánicos pulidos, una vez rejuntado el material debe limpiarse con una esponja húmeda antes que el material de rejuntado se haya endurecido.Utilizar productos de limpieza compatibles con la resistencia química de las baldosas. Como norma general se recomiendan detergentes neutros o básicos como por ejemplo Basic Gel para la limpieza de restos de cemento, juntas cementosas... En el caso de utilizar para el rejuntado productos epóxicos, eliminar los residuos inmediatamente después de las operaciones de colocación, utilizando una esponja y abundante agua limpia. Realizar a continuación una limpieza a fondo con la ayuda de detergentes alcalEn el mantenimiento del revestimiento cerámico se aconseja utilizar detergentes neutros, y en la limpieza y mantenimiento de las juntas, utilizar productos especiales a tal fin.

Cleaning away dirt and residues

After the ceramic sheets have been laid, they must be protected to prevent them from getting damaged until all onsite work has been completed. Before proceeding to give the tiled surface a final clean, wait for a prudent length of time (approximately 24 to 48 hours) so that the grouting material can set properly. In the case of polished porcelain sheets, once they have been grouted, they should be cleaned with a damp sponge before the grout can harden. Use cleaning products to which the ceramic sheets are chemically resistant. In general, a neutral or alkaline detergent like Basic Gel should be used to clean away cement or grout residues. If epoxy-based grouts are used, clean away any remains as soon as the joints have been grouted, using a sponge and plenty of clean water. Then clean the surface thoroughly with an alkaline detergent, following the instructions on the product label. If the surface is not cleaned immediately or there are still some epoxy remains, when the surface is given a final clean, use a cleaner specifically for epoxy residues like EPOTECH CLEANER by Butech.To care for the tiled surface, use a neutral detergent. To clean and care for the tile joints, use products specifically designed for this purpose.

Nettoyage après chantier

Après l'installation du matériau céramique, il est indispensable de protéger le matériau pour empêcher d'éventuels dommages jusqu'à l'achèvement des travaux. Avant de réaliser le nettoyage final du chantier, il est nécessaire de respecter un temps d'attente prudentiel d'environ 24-48 heures, pour permettre la bonne prise du matériau de jointoiement. Pour les matériaux porcelainés polis, une fois le jointoiement réalisé on devra nettoyer le matériau à l'aide d'une éponge humide avant que le matériau de jointoiement ne durcisse.Utiliser des produits de nettoyage compatibles avec la résistance chimique des carreaux. En règle générale, l'on recommande des détergents neutres ou basiques comme par exemple Basic Gel pour le nettoyage des restes de ciment, mortier de jointoiement… En cas d'utilisation pour le jointoiement de produits époxy, éliminer les résidus immédiatement après les opérations de pose, en utilisant une éponge et de l'eau claire en abondance. Réaliser ensuite un nettoyage à fond à l'aide de détergents alcalins, en veillant à suivre les indications indiquées sur les étiquettes des produits utilisés. Si l'on n'a pas nettoyé immédiatement ou qu'on a laissé des restes de joint époxy, il est conseillé de réaliser le nettoyage final du chantier avec un nettoyant spécifique pour déchets de type époxy comme EPOTECH CLEANER de Butech.Pour l'entretien du carrelage céramique, il est conseillé d'utiliser des détergents neutres, et pour l'entretien des joints, utiliser des produits spécifiques à cette fin.

Limpieza cotidiana y mantenimiento

En el caso de la limpieza de suciedad en general, es recomendable aspirar o barrer la superficie y posteriormente fregar con una disolución de lavado, utilizando un limpiador neutro en la dosis de uso recomendada por el fabricante. Seguidamente, es aconsejable usar una mopa seca sin aditivos cerosos. En el caso del porcelánico pulido se requiere una mayor atención especialmente con los colores lisos y claros, ya que el proceso de pulido altera ligeramente la porosidad con respecto al porcelánico natural, por ello, para su limpieza diaria se recomienda una mopa ligeramente humedecida.

Everyday cleaning and care

To remove everyday dirt, vacuum or sweep the surface and then clean it with a flat mop, water and a neutral cleaner in the dilution recommended by the manufacturer. Dans le cas du grès porcelainé poli il est nécessaire d'être plus vigilant, tout particulièrement avec les couleurs unies et claires, étant donné que le procédé de polissage altère légèrement la porosité par rapport au grès porcelainé naturel, ce pourquoi l'on recommande pour son nettoyage quotidien un balai-serpillière plat légèrement humidifié.

Limpieza de aceites y grasas

Hoy en día se comercializan diversos productos especiales para la limpieza de restos de grasas y aceites, como son los detergentes alcalinos o desengrasantes (quita-grasas).Si son restos ligeros, mediante el empleo de una disolución amoniacal pueden eliminarlos con facilidad.En cambio, si los restos son persistentes se debe recurrir a productos de limpieza adecuados. En el mercado existe una amplia gama de limpiadores o “friega-suelos” con una formulación determinada para eliminar este tipo de suciedad.También se pueden utilizar productos desengrasantes comerciales, los cuales tienen un mayor poder de limpieza.

Removing oil and grease

Specific cleaners are available for removing oil and grease, such as alkaline detergents or grease removers. If there are only light remains, they can easily be removed with a solution of water and ammonia.In the case of more persistent remains, suitable products should be used. A wide range of floor cleaners can be found with a formula suited to removing this kind of dirt. More thorough commercial grease removers can also be used.

Limpieza de manchas específicas

Ocasionalmente, en la superficie de los recubrimientos pueden existir restos diversos, al derramarse o entrar en contacto con determinadas sustancias (café, pinturas…).

Algunos productos pueden no ser eliminados mediante las operaciones usuales de limpieza y debe recurrirse a procedimientos específicos, en función de su naturaleza.

Es muy importante el tiempo que permanece la sustancia sobre la superficie de la baldosa, por lo que es recomendable limpiar la zona lo antes posible; de este modo evitará que se seque y se limpiará con mayor facilidad.

Por lo tanto, se debe tener algunos cuidados en su uso y conservación:• Mantener una limpieza frecuente.• Conservar el ambiente libre de suciedades abrasivas

utilizando alfombras ó felpudos, especialmente en los accesos desde exteriores.

• Proteger los elementos que puedan ser arrastrados sobre el revestimiento cerámico.

• No deben aplicarse ceras, aceites, etc.… ya que la mínima porosidad del porcelánico impide una correcta aplicación, pudiendo derivar en “empañado “de la superficie.

Removing specific stains

The tiled surface might occasionally get stained through contact with certain substances (coffee, paint etc.) or as a result of spills.

Everyday cleaning methods might not be sufficient in such cases, and specific procedures will be needed depending on the type of stain.

Time is of the essence in removing stains and so the area in question should be cleaned as promptly as possible to prevent the substance from drying and becoming harder to remove.

Given the above, certain care should be taken:• Clean the tiled surface regularly• Use mats or doormats to prevent abrasive dirt,

particularly by doors leading in from the outside.• Use foot protectors or similar for furniture or items that

might be dragged across the tiled floor.• Do not use wax or oil due to the porcelain sheets’ low

porosity, as this might lead to a cloudy film.

Nettoyage de taches spécifiques

Occasionnellement, il peut exister sur la surface des revêtements des restes divers qui auraient pu se répandre ou entrer en contact avec certaines substances (café, peintures…).Certains produits peuvent ne pas s'éliminer à travers les opérations habituelles de nettoyage et l'on doit alors recourir à des procédés spécifiques, en fonction de leur nature.Le temps pendant lequel la substance reste sur la surface du carreau a une grande importance, ce pourquoi il est recommandé de nettoyer la zone le plus rapidement possible, pour éviter ainsi qu'elle sèche et la nettoyer plus facilement.

Ainsi, il faut veiller dans l'usage et la conservation à:• Réaliser un nettoyage fréquent.• Conserver l'ambiance exempte de salissures abrasives

en utilisant des tapis ou des paillassons, tout particulièrement dans les accès depuis l'extérieur.

• Protéger les éléments qui pourraient être entraînés sur le revêtement céramique.

• Ne pas appliquer de cires, huiles, etc., car la moindre porosité du grès porcelainé empêche une correcte application, pouvant embuer la surface.

6 / Colocación de la baldosa cerámica XLIGHT Premium

Se recomienda el uso del bastidor XLIGHT de ventosa para sujetar la placa y manipularla con agilidad. A tener en cuenta:

• Apoyar suavemente la pieza y manteniéndola ligeramente inclinada, colocarla y adherirla progresivamente.

• Colocar las crucetas separadoras para crear la junta deseada. Como norma general no se recomienda dejar juntas de colocación inferiores a 2 mm en interiores. Actualmente existe una amplia gama de crucetas y separadores que facilitan el trabajo del colocador de cerámica, pero recomendamos especialmente los separadores autonivelantes de butech que además de marcar la anchura de la junta, evitan la aparición de resaltes entre baldosas y defectos de colocación.

• Presionar la superficie utilizando una llana de goma procurando eliminar posibles burbujas de aire.

• Revisar la perfecta nivelación de esquinas y aristas. • Dejar fraguar el mortero un mínimo de 24 horas.

En caso de plantear revestimientos con materiales de gran formato y de altura superior a 3 metros, existen sistemas que combinan adhesivos con ganchos mecánicos que deberán elegirse en función del peso de la losa de gres y de la altura del propio revestimiento.

6 / Laying XLIGHT Premium ceramic sheets

Hold the sheets with the XLIGHT lifting frame with suction cups to make it easier to handle. Remember to:

• Place the sheet down gently onto the adhesive, tilting it at a slight angle to start with and gradually laying it flat.

• Use spacers to make the tile joints. As a general rule, tile joints of less than 2mm should not be used for indoor surfaces A wide range of spacers and separators are currently available to assist tile layers in their work. Self-levelling spacers by Butech are particularly recommended. As well as marking the width of the joint, they prevent lippage and other tile-laying defects.

• Press the surface of the sheet down using a rubber trowel, trying to remove all air bubbles.

• Make sure that all the corners and edges are level. • Leave the mortar to set for at least 24 hours.

If wall surfaces are to be covered in large-format sheets to a height of over 3 metres, installation systems that combine adhesives with mechanical clips can be used. The type of clip will depend on the weight of the porcelain sheets and height of the wall covering.

6 / Pose du carreau céramique XLIGHT Premium

Il est recommandé d'utiliser le support XLIGHT à ventouses pour maintenir la plaque et la manipuler aisément. Tenir compte de ce qui suit:

• Appuyer doucement la pièce et en la maintenant légèrement inclinée, la poser et la coller progressivement.

• Placer les croisillons d'écartement pour créer le joint désiré. En règle générale, il est déconseillé de laisser des joints de pose inférieurs à 2 mm dans les intérieurs. Actuellement il existe une ample gamme de croisillons et d'écarteurs qui facilitent le travail du carreleur, mais nous recommandons tout particulièrement les écarteurs autonivelants de butech, qui en plus de marquer la largeur du joint, évitent les défauts de planéité entre les carreaux et les défauts de pose.

• Presser la surface en utilisant une taloche en caoutchouc pour essayer d'éliminer les éventuelles bulles d'air.

• Réviser le parfait nivellement des coins et arêtes. • Laisser prendre le mortier 24 heures au minimum.

Si l'on envisage un carrelage mural avec des matériaux grand format et d'une hauteur supérieure à 3 mètres, il existe des systèmes qui combinent des colles avec des crochets mécaniques, que l'on devra choisir en fonction du poids du carreau et de la hauteur du propre revêtement.

7 / Sellado de las juntas

Antes del rejuntado comprobaremos que las juntas de colocación (entre baldosa y baldosa) están vacías y limpias del material de agarre y restos de suciedad. El rejuntado debe hacerse al menos 24 horas después del encolado en paramentos verticales y 48 horas después del encolado en pavimentos.

El material rejuntado se aplicará con llana de goma, eligiendo entre la extensa línea de morteros técnicos colorstuk y epotech disponible en distintos acabados y colores.

La retirada de los restos de material de rejuntado se debe realizar utilizando una esponja humedecida en agua limpia. Esta operación no se debe prolongar en el tiempo, ya que un excesivo tiempo de contacto del material de rejuntado con la superficie esmaltada dificulta la posterior eliminación del mismo.

7 / Grouting the joints

Before proceeding to grout the joints, make sure that all the joints between the sheets are empty, with no bonding material or dirt in them. The sheets must be grouted at least 24 hours after they are laid in the case of walls and 48 hours in the case of floors.

Choose one of the wide range of high-performance colorstuk or epotech grouts, available in different finishes and colours, to fill the joints, using a rubber trowel.

Remove any surplus grout with a sponge moistened in clean water. Do not wait too long before doing so, since prolonged contact between the grout and glazed surface will make any remains harder to remove.

7 / Scellage des joints

Avant le jointoiement, on vérifiera que les joints de pose (entre carreau et carreau) sont vides et sans matériau de prise ni restes de saleté. Le jointoiement doit se réaliser au moins 24 heures après le collage sur les parements verticaux et 48 heures après le collage sur les sols.

On appliquera le matériau de jointoiement à l'aide d'une taloche en caoutchouc, en choisissant parmi la vaste gamme de mortiers techniques colorstuk et epotech, disponibles en différentes finitions et couleurs.

Le retrait des restes de matériau de jointoiement doit être réalisé à l'aide d'une éponge humidifiée à l'eau claire. Cette opération ne doit pas se retarder dans le temps, car un temps de contact excessif du matériau de jointoiement avec la surface émaillée nuirait à son élimination ultérieure.

5 / Aplicación del adhesivo. Doble encolado

En grandes formatos como XLIGHT Premium, el nivel del contacto de baldosa y soporte debe ser del 100%, cubrir todas las esquinas para evitar vacíos de aire, por lo que se recomienda el método del doble encolado en el que además de aplicar el adhesivo sobre el soporte, se aplica con la parte lisa de la llana una fina capa en el dorso de la baldosa.

El tipo de llana para la aplicación del adhesivo dependerá del tamaño de cada baldosa, características del dorso y regularidad del fondo de colocación. Las instrucciones de aplicación de este adhesivo son las siguientes:

• El espesor máximo de adhesivo no debe superar los 10 mm.

• En revestimiento, se recomienda aplicar el adhesivo en horizontal, mientras que en pavimento, se recomienda hacerlo en paralelo al lado largo de la baldosa.

• Distribuir los surcos de adhesivo de una forma homogénea.

• En pavimentos se recomienda utilizar una llana de dientes inclinados de 6 mm para el fondo y una llana de dientes inclinados de 3 mm para el reverso de la placa.

• Alta adherencia inicial y permite un tiempo de trabajo prolongados de 30 min. como máximo.

• Una vez cumplido el tiempo de ajuste, limpiar las juntas de colocación en toda su longitud, anchura y profundidad.

5 / Applying the adhesive. Floating and buttering method

With large format materials like XLIGHT Premium, the whole underside of the ceramic sheet must be in contact with the substrate, including the corners, so as to prevent voids. For this purpose, the floating and buttering method should be used. With this method, as well as applying a coat of adhesive to the substrate, the underside of the ceramic sheet should be covered in a thin layer using the smooth side of the trowel.

The type of trowel to use will depend on the size of each ceramic sheet, the characteristics of the underside and the evenness of the substrate. The following guidelines should be taken into account when applying the adhesive:

• The coat of adhesive should not be thicker than 10 mm. • The adhesive should be applied horizontally to walls. On

floors, it should be applied parallel to the longest side of the ceramic sheets.

• Make sure that the furrows in the adhesive are uniformly distributed.

• On floors, a 6mm V notched trowel should be used for the substrate and a 3mm V notched one for the underside of the ceramic sheets.

• The adhesive has a high initial bonding strength and prolonged working time of a maximum of 30 minutes.

• Once the adjustment time is over, clean the tile joints along their entire length, width and depth.

5 / Application de la colle. Double encollage

Pour les grands formats comme XLIGHT Premium, le niveau du contact entre carreau et support doit être de 100%, et doit couvrir tous les coins pour éviter des vides d'air, ce pourquoi l'on recommande la méthode du double encollage, où en plus d'appliquer la colle sur le support, on applique avec la partie lisse de la taloche une fine couche sur le dos du carreau.

Le type de taloche pour l'application de la colle dépendra de la taille de chaque carreau, des caractéristiques du dos de celui-ci et de la régularité du fond de pose. Les instructions d'application de cette colle sont les suivantes:

• L'épaisseur maximale de colle ne doit pas dépasser 10 mm.

• Pour le carrelage de mur, il est recommandé d'appliquer la colle horizontalement, tandis que pour le carrelage de sol, il est recommandé de le faire en parallèle le long du carreau.

• Distribuer les sillons de colle de forme homogène.• Pour le carrelage de sol, il est recommandé d'utiliser une

taloche avec des dents inclinées de 6 mm pour le fond et une taloche avec des dents inclinées de 3 mm pour le dos de la plaque.

• Haute adhérence initiale qui permet un temps de travail prolongé de 30 min au maximum.

• Une fois le temps d'ajustement écoulé, nettoyer les joints de pose sur toute la longueur, la largeur et la profondeur.

PRIMERA LIMPIEZA (FINAL DE OBRA) FINAL CLEAN-UP OF THE WORKSITE PREMIER NETTOYAGE (FIN DES TRAVAUX) Después de finalizar las fases de colocación del material y llenado de las juntas es necesario proceder a la limpieza de la superficie cerámica para eliminar todos los agentes contaminantes (películas de cemento, residuos de mortero…) que pueda haber. Es fundamental realizar correctamente esta operación ya que, si se efectúa mal o de manera rápida, podrían provocar halos que afectarían la limpieza cotidiana. Para una limpieza correcta se recomienda siempre respetar las indicaciones específicas proporcionadas por los fabricantes de morteros y adhesivos utilizados en la colocación, con relación al tiempo de espera, productos que deben utilizarse y modalidad de uso. En el caso de grandes superficies se recomienda proceder con el uso de cepillo mecánico dotado con discos suaves.

No se recomienda la limpieza después de la colocación si la temperatura de las placas es elevada, eligiendo por lo tanto las horas más frescas del día. No se deben utilizar espátulas o cepillos metálicos.

After all the stages involved in laying and grouting the XLight sheets have been completed, the surface must be cleaned in order to remove all contaminants (cement films, mortar residues etc.). This must be properly done because if it is cleaned wrongly or too hastily, deposits might be left that then affect the everyday cleaning of the surface. To clean it properly, always follow the specific indications of the manufacturers of the mortars and adhesives used to lay the sheets regarding waiting times, the cleaning products to be used and their usage. In the case of large surfaces, a floor cleaning machine with soft pads should be used.

Do not clean the floor surface if the sheets have a high temperature. Wait until a cooler time of day. Do not use spatulas or brushes with metal bristles.

Une fois que les phases de pose du matériau et de remplissage des joints ont finalisé, il est nécessaire de procéder au nettoyage de la surface céramique pour éliminer tous les agents polluants (pellicules de ciment, déchets de mortier…) présents. Il est essentiel de réaliser correctement cette opération car si elle mal réalisée ou effectuée trop rapidement, cela pourrait provoquer des auréoles qui affecteraient l’entretien quotidien. Pour un entretien correct, il est recommandé de toujours respecter les indications spécifiques fournies par les fabricants de mortiers et colles utilisés lors de la pose, en ce qui concerne le temps d’attente, les produits à utiliser et la modalité d’usage. Dans le cas de grandes surfaces, il est recommandé d’utiliser une brosse mécanique dotée de disques doux.

Le nettoyage après la pose n’est pas recommandé si la température des plaques est élevée, il est préférable dans ce cas d’attendre les heures les plus fraîches de la journée. Il ne faut pas utiliser de spatules ni de brosses métalliques.



LIMPIEZA DE PRODUCTOS CEMENTOSOS REMOVING CEMENT RESIDUESNETTOYAGE DE PRODUITS À BASE DE CIMENT Después de la colocación es fundamental realizar una buena limpieza con el fin de eliminar residuos de junta y en general suciedad de la obra. Para esta operación recomendamos el empleo de un detergente de acción ligeramente ácida que no despida humos tóxicos y respete las juntas, el material y el usuario, como DETERDEK de FILA.

Los residuos de cemento, cal, lechada y morteros de cemento pueden eliminarse, en el tiempo y modos indicados por el fabricante, utilizando desincrustantes. Estos productos deberán utilizarse de acuerdo con las modalidades indicadas en las fichas específicas.En cualquier caso, tener presente que, además de la naturaleza del detergente utilizado, esta operación puede resultar más o menos agresiva en función también de:

· Posible uso de sustancias o medios abrasivos.

· Temperatura (elevadas temperaturas pueden hacer que un detergente sea más agresivo).

· Tiempo de contacto (al aumentar el tiempo de contacto aumenta el riesgo de ataque químico).

· Después de la limpieza con agentes químicos es necesario un aclarado con agua limpia.

After the sheets have been laid, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned in order to remove any grout residues or general dirt left from the tile laying process. For this purpose, a slightly acidic detergent like DETERDEK by FILA should be used that does not release any toxic fumes and is not harmful for the joints, ceramic sheets or for users.

Cement, lime, plaster and cement mortar residues can be removed with a cement remover following the waiting time and method indicated by the manufacturer. The type of product indicated in the specific data sheets must be used. In all cases, remember that, as well as the type of detergent that is used, it will have a more or less aggressive effect depending on:

· Whether abrasive substances or means are used.

· The temperature. (In high temperatures, a detergent can have a more aggressive effect).

· The contact time. (The longer it is in contact with the floor surface, the greater the risk of chemical attack).

· After cleaning the floor surface with chemicals, always rinse it with clean water.

Après la pose, il est essentiel de réaliser un bon nettoyage afin de supprimer les déchets des matériaux de jointoiement et d’une façon générale, toute la saleté des travaux. Pour cette opération, il est recommandé d’utiliser un détergent ayant une action légèrement acide ne dégageant de fumées toxiques et respectant le jointoiement, le matériau et l’utilisateur, comme par exemple DETERDEK de FILA.

Les déchets de ciment, chaux, coulis et mortiers de ciment peuvent être éliminés, en respectant le temps et les modalités indiqués par le fabricant, à l’aide de désincrustants. Ces produits devront être utilisés en respectant les modalités indiquées sur les fiches spécifiques.Il faut également avoir à l’esprit qu’en plus de la nature du détergent utilisé, cette opération peut s’avérer plus ou moins agressive en fonction également de:

· Éventuel usage de substances ou éléments abrasifs.

· Température (des températures élevées peuvent rendre un détergent plus agressif).

· Temps de contact (plus le temps de contact dure et plus le risque d’attaque chimique augmente).

· Après un nettoyage avec des agents chimiques, il est nécessaire de procéder à un rinçage avec de l’eau claire.

Es necesario eliminar los residuos de los morteros epóxicos inmediatamente después de las operaciones de colocación, utilizando una esponja y abundante agua limpia. Realizar a continuación una limpieza a fondo con la ayuda de detergentes alcalinos, procurando seguir las indicaciones indicadas en las etiquetas de los productos utilizados. En el caso de que no se haya limpiado inmediatamente y se hayan quedado restos de junta epoxi, se aconseja realizar la limpieza final de obra con un limpiador específico de residuos epoxídicos, como EPOTECH CLEANER de Butech.

Epoxy mortar residues should be removed immediately after the surface has been laid, using a sponge and plenty of water. Next, clean the surface thoroughly with an alkaline detergent, following the indications on the product label. Para limpiar a diario las placas XLIGHT se pueden utilizar desengrasantes o detergentes neutros. Estos deberán diluirse en agua en función de las indicaciones proporcionadas en sus envases. Con el paso del tiempo y con el uso de detergentes normales comercializados, pueden formarse películas brillantes en la superficie de la placa. Por ello, para evitar la formación de ceras y películas brillantes se recomienda utilizar sólo detergentes neutros para la limpieza ordinaria.

For everyday cleaning purposes, the XLIGHT sheets can be cleaned with a cement remover or neutral detergent. These should be diluted in water as indicated on the packaging. In time due to repeated use, normal commercial detergents might build up a shiny film on the surface of the sheets. To avoid this shiny film or wax coating, only use neutral detergents for everyday cleaning purposes.

Pour l’entretien quotidien des plaques XLIGHT, il est possible d’utiliser des dégraissants ou des détergents neutres. Ceux-ci devront être dilués dans de l’eau en respectant les indications fournies sur leurs emballages. Se utiliza para eliminar manchas o residuos especialmente resistentes. En general, se recomienda proceder efectuando una primera limpieza con abundante agua caliente corriente.En el caso de que esta operación no fuera suficiente se puede proceder, en función de las características del agente que provoca las manchas, con técnicas de limpieza cada vez más incisivas utilizando los siguientes métodos de limpieza:

PORCELANOSA WARRANTY INFORMATION

Porcelanosa in the United States of America (“Porcelanosa”) hereby warrants to the original buyer (“Buyer”) that the floor and wall ceramic tile products (“Products”) sold by Porcelanosa in the United States of America under the Porcelanosa, Venis or Urbatek brands meet or exceed the international standards of ISO 13006: 2012, as well as the performance specifications of ANSI A137.1 – 2012. Porcelanosa further warrants that the Products, as delivered, will be reasonably free of defects in materials and workmanship, and when properly handled, stored, maintained and installed, will conform, within industry-accepted tolerances, to applicable manufacturing specifications.

Commercial Warranty

In the case of Products sold for installation in a commercial setting, Porcelanosa will replace any uninstalled Products found to be defective, provided that the Buyer has given written notice of defect to Porcelanosa within 12 months of the original purchase date. Certain factors, such as improper installation by independent parties, uneven sub-floor, and environmental conditions, are beyond the control of Porcelanosa. Consequently, Porcelanosa cannot accept responsibility for the performance of the Products after they have been installed in a commercial setting. Notwithstanding this limitation, upon receipt of written notice of defect from the Buyer within 12 months of the original purchase date, Porcelanosa will replace any Products installed in a commercial setting that are found to have latent manufacturing defects. This warranty excludes any labor charges, installation, or other consequential losses or incidental damages. This warranty is also subject to the limitations set out below under “Other Warranty Information” and to those set forth in any applicable terms and condition of sale.

Residential Warranty

In the event that any of the Products sold for installation in a residential setting are found to be defective, Porcelanosa will, at its sole option, repair or replace the defective Products. This warranty covers Products installed in a residential setting within 36 months of the original purchase date. This warranty is subject to (a) Porcelanosa’s receipt of notice in writing from the Buyer of the alleged failure or defect within the term of the warranty, and (b) the limitations set out below under “Other Warranty Information” and those set forth in any applicable terms and conditions of sale.

Other Warranty Information

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH ABOVE, PORCELANOSA MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING ITS PRODUCTS, AND HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Such warranties (hereinafter “this warranty”) shall be void upon the occurrence of any one or more of the following events: (a) the Products are installed despite having visible defects, that could and should have been noted by the installer and reported before installation; (b) the Products are not installed in accordance with the ANSI specifications for the installation of ceramic tile, or the Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation published by the Tile Council of North America, Inc., or are installed in conflict with any other specifications applicable to the Products, including those provided by Porcelanosa, or applicable to any installation materials; (c) the Products are damaged by moving heavy objects or equipment across floors and walls without adequate protection; and/or (d) the Products are damaged by the use of improper cleaners, such as those containing hydrofluoric acid; and/or (e) the Products are damaged by acts of God, such as storms, floods, earthquakes or other natural disaster. This warranty does not cover differences between samples and the actual Products, or among the Products themselves, due to pattern variations or color or shade variations that are inherent in the Products. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Porcelanosa expressly excludes from this warranty, and will not pay for, any consequential losses and incidental damages. This warranty extends only to the Buyer and is not transferable.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from State to State. Porcelanosa will not be responsible for any statements or representations made in any form that go beyond, are broader than, or are inconsistent with any authorized literature or written specifications furnished by Porcelanosa. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or on special, incidental, or consequential damages. As a result, some of these limitations may not apply to you.
