Una semplice passeggiata, con partenza dal centro di Cortina, lungo la strada che un tempo rappresentava la storica polveriera militare. Dopo una salita iniziale il sentiero diventa pianeggiante prosegue tra ampi prati fioriti: location ideale per trascorrere un pomeriggio di “gioco”.
The unpaved road “Strada De Convento”Once the site of the historical military powder store, today it is the main link for pedestrians between the town centre and the southern area of the town. After the initial climb, the way becomes flat and a unique view opens up, with large flower-bedecked meadows for the children to play in.

VIA DELL’UOMO DI MONDEVALPoco lontano da Passo Giau si trova la VIA DELL’UOMO DI MONDEVAL, che conduce a una sepoltura a 2.000 metri di quota datata 5000 a.C. Nel 1985 è stata scoperta la tomba di un cacciatore preistorico vissuto circa settemila anni fa. Accanto allo scheletro una grande quantità di oggetti di pietra scheggiata, utensili e ornamenti in osso e denti di cervo.
THE ROAD OF THE MONDEVAL MANNear the Giau mountain pass, leads to the burial site of a pre-historic hunter who lived approximately 7000 years ago. The tomb was found at an altitude of 2000m and contained a large quantity of objects, such as stone tools and ornaments made of deer bones.

Lago di valico, si è formato grazie all’ argilla impermeabile del fondo, che impedisce all’acqua di disperdersi. Sulle sue sponde si possono osservare un’interessante vegetazione e fauna anfibia.
THE WALK AROUND THE LAKE AT VALPAROLAThis little mountain pass lake, set in the bright green meadows, is right at the side of the road. It was formed thanks to an impermeable clay bed, which prevents the water from dispersing. On its banks you can observe an array of alpine vegetation and amphibious fauna.
