Terry Kelly Dr. Terry Kelly’s passion for life has gained him international recognition as an award-winning singer/songwriter, and renowned motivational speaker, an accomplished athlete, and an entertainer. From school classrooms to corporate boardrooms, from the recording studio to international conferences, from national radio shows to the pilot seat of an aircraft, from the controls of a Seadoo to the running of a sub-five-minute mile, Terry Kelly has been there. He has used his life experiences to touch the hearts of many and to motivate many to live their lives to the fullest, and by his example, overcome personal challenges of all types.

The Perfect Storm: Implications for Practitioners
Location: Republic (Simultaneous Interpretation)
We’re entering an unprecedented labour force cycle in which hundreds of thousands of new economy jobs
will go unfilled due to lack of skilled labour. Opportunities will abound for those with the knowledge and skills
to navigate Canada’s rapidly evolving workforce. Yet, of 100 students that enter the “talent pipeline” in grade
9 each year only 26 will graduate on schedule from post-secondary programs. Only 13 are in jobs directly
related to their major 2 years later. This presentation will explore ways we can help our clients weather the
storm and prosper despite Canada’s looming “perfect talent storm.”
Presenter: Phil Jarvis has authored or helped create career resources now used by millions of students and
adults in education, government and industry settings around the world.

Running with Leaders—Their Role and Resource
Requirements in Career Development
Location: Republic (Simultaneous Interpretation)
Organizations have shifted their career development initiatives substantially and now have very
different expectations of managers and leaders in this regard. Often, the resourcing of such
programs is left to ill equipped leaders to cobble together succession programs, replacement
strategies and employee development plans. Those tasked with such responsibility need help
by way of career development expertise and tools.
This workshop will examine what those needs are and how career development professionals
can help. It will focus on outlining how career development really happens within organizations
how to get close to this group in need and how to best offer assistance to the benefit of
leaders, organizations and ultimately their clients.
Pierre Battah (BBA, MBA, CHRP) is an expert in management and human resource
management. His practice is focused on teaching, facilitating and especially providing counsel
