Marva Scott, our staff, leadership team
and the entire 34th Street Church Family
are excited that you have chosen to
worship with us today! We’ve been wait-
ing for you! It’s not by accident that we
have the joy of meeting you. We believe
that every person who comes into the circle
of this special fellowship was sent by God Himself. We want to express
Christ’s love to you with genuine, heartfelt warmth.
We are a church family excited about and committed to serving and
worshipping Jesus Christ. Each worship service is devoted to honoring the
Lord through music, prayer, praise, fellowship and a life changing message
from God’s Word. With the anointing of the Holy Spirit, we at Thirty-Fourth
Street Church are striving to address the personal needs of each child, teen and
adult, as well as minister to the family as a whole. It’s a vital ministry that
only the Lord can accomplish as we faithfully commit ourselves to His will
and service. Our prayer is that your experience will be both empowering
and exciting!
Again, on behalf the entire church family, you are welcome for coming

The first licensed African American Female
pilot was named Bessie Coleman. Born in
Atlanta, Texas in 1892, Bessie Coleman grew
up in a world of harsh poverty, discrimination
and segregation. She moved to Chicago at 23
to seek her fortune, but found little opportunity
there as well. Wild tales of flying exploits from
returning WWI soldiers first inspired her to
explore aviation, but she faced a double stigma
in that dream being both African American and
a woman.
She set her sights on France in order to reach her dreams and began
studying French. In 1920, Coleman crossed the ocean with all of her
savings and the financial support of Robert Abbott, one of the first
African American millionaires. Over the next seven months, she
learned to fly and in June of 1921, the Fédération Aéronautique
Internationale awarded her an international pilot's license. Wildly
celebrated upon her return to the United States, reporters turned out
in droves to greet her.
Coleman performed at numerous air shows over the next five years,
performing heart thrilling stunts, encouraging other African Amer-
icans to pursue flying, and refusing to perform where Blacks were
not admitted. When she tragically died in a plane accident in 1926,
famous writer and equal rights advocate Ida B. Wells presided over
her funeral. An editorial in the "Dallas Express" stated, "There is
reason to believe that the general public did not completely sense the
size of her contribution to the achievements of the race as such."

God desires to have a personal
relationship with YOU!
Do you know that if you ask Him
into your heart right now, God will
meet you at the point of your greatest
need? He will meet you right where
you are! God’s plan for salvation:
We have all made mistakes.
Romans 3:23 - “For all have sinned
and come short of the glory of God.”
The penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23 - “For the wages of sin
is death; but the gift of God is eternal
life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
How To Lead A Friend To Christ!
God’s love for us.
Romans 5:8 - “But God commendeth His
love for us, in that, while we were yet
sinners, Christ died for us.”
Jesus is the Bridge.
John 3:16 - “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Salvation by Faith.
Romans 10:9 - “. . . if thou shall confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall
believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Assurance of Salvation.
Romans 10:13 - “For whosoever shall call
upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved!”
We may have some friends or family
members who do not know Jesus Christ and
what it means to be saved. If we really love
our family and friends, the best and most
important thing we can do is to tell them
about Jesus. We have to lead them in the
right direction - to JESUS!
OUR VISION Thirty-Fourth Street Church of God will be a Christian community within a community that impacts the community for Jesus Christ!
OUR MISSION
Thirty-Fourth Street Church of God is called to transform lives by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and meeting the needs of the

to reveal to you your sacrificial gift to give.
Opening Prayer (In Unison)
God of light and God of night, Creator of seed and mountain,
raindrop and fountain, today we bring our offering of praise. God
of right and God of might, Lover of child and childless, rich and
homeless, we bring our offering of praise. Forgive our moments
of ingratitude, the spiritual blindness that prevents us from
appreciating the wonder that is this world. Forgive us for taking
without giving and reaping without sowing. Open our eyes to see,
our lips to praise and our hands to share. May our feet touch light-
ly on the path we tread, and our footsteps be worthy of follow-
ing. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Unison Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 29:3 (KJV); Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV)
3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my
God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I
have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have
prepared for the holy house
Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV) 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,
with the first fruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be
filled to overflowing and your vats will brim over with new wine
