About the Instructor Stephanie Kloos Donoghue is president of S. Kloos Communications (SKC), a communications firm focused on small business and health care marketing in Ardsley, New York. Stephanie has taught Small Business Management at Pace University's Lubin School of Business for more than 20 years and has also taught Venture Initiation and Entrepreneurship. She has presented programs nationally on various aspects of small business startup, including stints with the U.S. Small Business Administration's SCORE program and The Entrepreneurial Center, Inc. Stephanie consults with prospective entrepreneurs and small business owners on startup, growth and strategic decision-making to build their bottom lines.

As a successful entrepreneur, Stephanie Kloos Donoghue '82 puts her Manhattanville education to use every day - and she's giving back in many ways. She has served on the President’s Advisory Council (PAC) for about two years, has participated on panels with the Center for Career Development, and was recently appointed to the Women’s Leadership Institute Advisory Board. Human Capital Analytics for HR Professionals

This interactive, experiential human capital analytics workshop will be a "hands-

on" discussion of many topics essential for both enhancing one's credibility as an

HR practitioner, as well as the introduction of terms and concepts that will allow

participants to change the language as well as the "lens” in which they view

essential, strategic business practices.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be better able to:

Define and apply a deep comprehension of Analytics and Dynamics of Human Capital, through both an

identification and differentiation of various practices and tools.

Apply and synthesize processes using the appropriate methods to collect, measure and analyze human

capital data that drive market performance.

Understand the metrics used in HR analytics for such area as workforce planning, talent acquisition,

retention, learning investments and climate survey results.

Examine and distinguish “Causation” – the key driver of performance

About the Instructor

Dr. Richard Montanaro began his academic career path as an adjunct teaching at Manhattanville College, where he taught

both undergraduate and graduate students. He currently teaches Human Capital Analytics along with a number of courses

in the APPEAL adult accelerated BS program. Additionally, Dr. Montanaro teaches advanced courses online at the

MS/PhD/DBA levels at Capella University.

In addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Montanaro dedicates himself to building his Career Assessment and Consulting

business, CareerDiscoverys (http://www.careerdiscoverys.com). With a particular interest in careers and transition,

(including his own!) his dissertation research and practice is dedicated to career coaching and talent assessment, preaching

the value of evidence–based analytics - a passion!

Dr. Montanaro’s prior experience includes roles in corporate Human Resources as a HR Generalist and Learning and

Leadership Development experience. Additionally, his experience includes extensive internal and external consulting to

Fortune 500 companies in training, executive coaching, individual and group assessment, team-building, and organization

development. A published author, curriculum designer and conference speaker, his blogs and peer reviewed journal articles

Preventing Sexual Harassment

Sexual Harassment has exploded in the news yet again this past year. This has

led to a heightened desire to better understand the causes and types of

harassment present in the workplace and the appropriate actions to be taken.

This workshop will provide a current perspective of harassment in the

workplace and provide managers with the appropriate tools to address

harassment complaints.

Risk Management for Human Resource Professionals

Dr. Frances Jeffries has 27 years of experience in grant development and research administration. She has worked with

faculty, senior administrators, and community partners to develop projects addressing systemic change, optimizing

resources and cross-training those involved with the project. Funding for these projects has been sought from the U.S.

Department of Education, National Science Foundation, National Aeronautical and Space Administration, National

Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency, National Endowment for the Humanities, as well as several state and local

government and private funding sources. She has also served as a proposal reviewer for several of these funding sources.

Dr. Jeffries is widely recognized for her expertise in capacity development, mentoring, project and grant development,

technical writing, evaluation and research administration, and has made more than 50 invited presentations at regional,

national and international meetings. In addition, Dr. Jeffries has been honored as a Distinguished Faculty by the Society of

Research Administrators International and by the National Council of University Administrators (Region 7) for Distinguished
