Year of report :- 2009-2010 Introduction :- Two Meetings of I.Q.A.C. were held in the academic year 2009-2010. I.Q.A.C. has referred to the S.S.R. I & II submitted to the N.A.A.C. & peer team report to find out strengths and weaknesses and came to the conclusion that the following are the key areas which are to be considered specifically for quality enhancement & we prepared an action plan to overcome weaknesses and to enhance our strengths. We are submitting herewith the annual quality assurance report of the year 2009-2010. (I) Curricular Aspects (1) It is Proposed that Arts students should be :- We have already started Geography

provided with the facilities of additional & Economics as special subjects at subjects up to T.Y.B.A. level with different T.Y.B.A. level. We have also started

second year of B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Application) in the Academic Year 2009-10.

(2) It is proposed that science students should :- Due to less no. of students at F.Y.B.Sc be provided with Physics, Zoology, Maths level itself we have not started or Botany subjects up to T.Y.B.Sc level subjects other than Chemistry at

on self supporting basis. T.Y.B.Sc (3) It is proposed to run post graduation :- We are running M.Com & M.Sc courses in M.A., M.Com., M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) courses.

(4) It is proposed to establish and run atleast five :- Under C.O.P. (Career Oriented carreer oriented courses for Arts, Science, and Programme) following 2 courses Commerce students under each faculty. are running . 1. Disaster Management

computerized. Evaluation systems. A separate computer is given to each faculty. The Library is computerized & bar coded and accession is given to students through computer.

upto the end of Academic year 2009-2010. 1131 books were added in the year 2009-2010 whose cost is Rs.1,62,381/-.

(2) Computerization of college office & : College office & Library is & Library computerized.

(3) To make twice the existing facilities : Under Book-Bank Scheme 233 under book-bank scheme books were given to 141students (of 31 groups)Also book set was given to 1 handicapped student.

. (4) To honour outstanding students in : We have honored more than 125 students academics,sports,extra-curricular in annual prize distribution function of Curricular activities. year 2009-10 for their outstanding

achievements in Academic, Sports, Extra-Curricular Activities etc.

(6) To provide internet facility to all : Internet facility is provided to Teachers department and students & Students free of cost. It is worth of 2 mbps.

(7) To construct canteen building, : U.G.C. has already sanctioned Rs. 80 lacs Women House under UGC schemes. for Women Hostel. Tender is issued.

Construction work will start in Dec.2009. (8) To issue borrowing cards of the : From last three years we have Library to parents implemented this scheme. We issued 29 cards to parents in year 2009-10. (V) Student support & progression (1) To run full-fledged competitive : In Earn & Learn Scheme 51students career centre, placement cell & did different kinds of work for e.g.. self employment center. computer typing , milk collection, Library and office assistance etc. For this nearly Rs. 1,80,000 was distributed. to students.

T.Y. students . • We send M.Sc. II students for the interviews in the company Cipla

Pharmaceuticals,Pune. • One student got selected in the interview of Infosys India on 12th Dec. 2009. • Participated in Seminar of of Placement Officers of different colleges held at N.I.I.T.

Kharadi, Pune. • Activities of Competitive Career Centre: • First General Knowledge test was taken on 19th September 2009. 155 students

appeared in this test. • Competitive Career Centre was inaugurated on 31st Dec. 2009 by Shri. Tukaram

Jadhav, Director Unique Academy, Pune. • We conducted Bharati University sponsored Dr.Patangrao Kadam General

Knowledge Test on 5th Jan.2010.In this 106 students participated. Amol Debadwar(F.Y.B.A.) stood first in this test in our college.

• On 5th January2010 our Principal Dr. Rajendra Kankariya gave a lecture on ‘How to prepare for interview ‘ in Marathi.

• On 31st Dec. 2009 an M.O.U. was done between Spardha Sankalp,B.J.S.College and Unique Academy, Pune. In this a course on ‘How to prepare for M.P.S.C.’got started from 11th Jan. 2010 on minimum fees. 20 students participated in this course.

(2) To publish B.J.S. College : We published two B.J.S. Bulletins in the bulletien in every month Academic year 2008-2009. (3) Prizes awards and training :

• Our following 6 students obtained Rs. 40,000/- scholarship each from the Weikfield Foundation, Pune Mangal Yenbhar(.M.Sc.I), Deepali Lande(S.Y.B.Sc.), Suvarna Bokale(S.Y.B.Sc.), Varsha Kand(F.Y.B.Sc.), Rupali Salunkhe(F.Y.B.Sc.), Renuka Bhandare(F.Y.B.Sc.).

• On 28th Aug.2009 college organized debating competition. In this competition our team comprising Sonali Gadade & Dhananjay Jadhav obtained consolation prize.

• On 14th Oct. 2009 Vidyarthi Kalyan Mandal, Pune University organized ‘Indradhanushya 2009’ . In this for variety entertainment show our students Sayyad Gauss and Mangesh Pol got selected.

• Our college ranked 5th in Science as per India Today dated 4th June 2007. • Our college obtained momento titled ‘Excellent college in organization of

sports in Rural Colleges’ from S.P.College,Pune. • In Inter college tournaments of following sports, our college performed as mentioned

Accordingly Teachers did counseling to their group of students. (2) Yearly medical check up of students & : We took yearly Medical Checkup Staff. of all students & staff in the

year 2009-2010. (3) Welfare schemes for teaching & non : Loans are given to some teaching staff through cooperative society. Teaching & Non-Teaching staff for their personal development. (4) To strengthen Alumni Association & : Alumni were enlisted & college enlist prominent alumni & make their use magazines were posted to them. to raise funds, enhanced employment, etc. Also we had invited them for our Annual Gathering function. Fund of Rs. 1,69,000 is raised for

Alumni Association. (5) To start ‘Chair’ of studies in Jain : The chair has established, religion, Jain Literature & Jain following are the members of Philosophy. the chair. school (of our institution) in subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Biology, Hindi, Marathi, History, Geography, Economics, Accounts etc.

(7) To facilitate Alumni every year & invite : We invited & felicitated prominent alumni for college functions. our alumni in our annual social gathering function.
