DEVELOPMENT

Thanks to our many years of experience in the field of product development and prototype manufacture, we are able to determine your needs for development and design quickly and support you throughout all phases of development.

We develop a detailed project plan for you containing all the necessary development activities. This process is perfectly comple-mented by our in-house prototype manufac-ture and simulation department.

PROTOTYPE MANUFACTURE

At H&H we produce prototypes to meet your requirements using a wide range of proces-ses. From rapid prototyping, vacuum casting and RIM / low-pressure injection moulding to laminating, deep drawing, expansion and NC milling – we have the right solution for creating your prototypes.

The advantage of our processes is the combination of speed and design freedom, as the complexity of the components being produced hardly plays any role at all. The use of such varied processes helps to reduce product development times dramatically, particularly in the product development stage.

To give your product shape, we produce injection moulding tools according to German quality standards. You can rely on our many years of experience in the drafting, dimen-sioning and production of complex tools and dies. You can also benefit from our expertise during the product item design.

From the assembly into sub-assemblies or entire systems, to 100% inspection, through to logistics handling, you get everything reliably from a single source. METAL LASER MELTING

Laser melting is a manufacturing process used to produce metal components and sub-assemblies layer by layer. As the parts are produced without the need for tooling, this process offers enormous scope in terms of component design. Thus, for example, you can produce light constructional components with grid or bionic structures that cannot be produced using conventional proces-ses because of restrictions. As the initial powdered material (usually metal) is melted completely using a laser beam, the minimum density of the components is 99%.

This process is used in the aerospace, mechanical engineering, medical technology and automotive industries, among others.

SERVICES & USE CASE

Our services at a glance:

Use caseAs part of a case study, we developed a demonstration component together with our research partner DMRC to derive the potential of the laser melting process. With the new design for the laser melting process, the weight of the component was reduced by almost 50% compared to the component produced using conventional processes, while the mechanical requirements remained the same. The design is based on topo-logy optimisation and takes into account examples from the field of bionics as well as the required design guidelines for the laser melting process. The use case confirms the huge economic potential of this technology in particular for applications in which the requirements for lightweight construction are high.
