Issue:

Genie has been informed by its supplier of an issue with the differential lock in the axle installed in the machines referenced above. Activating the differential lock while the axles are turning may cause progressive damage to the driveline components.

Action(s) Required:

1 Locate the affected machines referenced above within your fleet.

2 Order kit PN 1303943GT and install in your machine.

Completion of this Product Notice must take place as soon as possible, but no later than 90 days from receipt of the kit(s).

3 Return the machine to service.

4 Fill out and sign the completion form included in this Notice or attached to the installation instructions and return to Terex AWP Warranty Department or file a warranty claim to verify that this Product Notice is completed.

Continued Use Instructions:

The machines may remain in service.

Introduction

Observe and Obey: This procedure shall be completed by a

person trained and qualified on the repair of this machine.

Immediately tag and remove from service a damaged or malfunctioning machine.

Repair any machine damage or malfunction before operating the machine.

Before Starting Installation: Read, understand and obey the safety rules

and operating instructions in the appropriate operator's manual.

Be sure that all necessary tools and parts are available and ready for use.

Read this procedure completely and adhere to the instructions. Attempting shortcuts may produce hazardous conditions.

Procedure

Note: Perform this procedure on a firm, level surface.

Note: Refer to the harness diagram included with these instructions.

1 Raise the boom high enough to access the manifold compartment on top of the chassis.

2 Support the boom with a suitable supporting device.

3 Remove the manifold cover assembly from the machine and set aside.

4 Locate the brake pressure manifold inside the manifold compartment.

5 Disconnect the machine harness from the brake pressure switch.

Note: The brake pressure switch has a 2 wire connector.

6 Connect the C147 male connector of the provided interlock harness into the brake pressure switch.

Note: The C147 connector has green and white wires.

7 Connect the C146 female connector of the interlock harness to the machine harness that was disconnected.

Note: The C146 connector has green and white wires.

8 Route the harness along the chassis to the secondary function manifold.

9 Disconnect the machine harness from the differential lock valve.

Note: Refer to the illustration that is appropriate for the serial number of your machine.

10 Connect the C149 male connector of the interlock harness into the differential lock valve.

Note: The C149 connector has orange and brown wires.

11 Connect the C148 female connector of the interlock harness to the machine harness that was disconnected.

Note: The C148 connector has orange/black and brown wires.

12 Secure the harness using cable ties.

13 Locate and clean the area around the pressure reducing valve.

14 Remove and discard the valve from the manifold.

Bodily injury hazard. Spraying hydraulic oil can penetrate and burn skin. Loosen hydraulic connections very slowly to allow the oil pressure to dissipate gradually. Do not allow oil to squirt or spray.

15 Install the provided pressure reducing valve into the manifold.

Torque = 33 - 37 ft-lbs / 45 - 50 Nm.

16 Start the engine.

17 With the machine in neutral, press and hold the axle differential lock switch for 5 - 10 seconds to bleed any air in the system.

18 Turn the engine off.

19 Check the pressure reducing valve for hydraulic leaks.

20 Install the manifold cover assembly onto the machine.

21 Lower the machine to the stowed position.

Serial numbers GTH10E-12500 to GTH10E-14445 Note: Serial numbers GTH10E-11937 to GTH10E-12499, discard the provided decal.

22 Using a mild solvent and a clean soft cloth, clean the area around the axle differential lock switch.

Test the differential lock Note: Perform this procedure with the machine on a firm, level surface that is free of obstructions.

24 Start the engine.

25 Select 4 wheel steer mode.

26 Apply the brake and shift the machine into forward. Press and hold the axle differential lock switch.

27 Drive the machine in a circle.

Result: All four tires turn at the same rate.

28 Bring the machine to a full stop and release the axle differential lock switch. Continue driving in a circle.

Result: All four tires do not turn at the same rate.

29 Fill out and sign the attached completion form and return to Terex AWP Warranty Department or file a warranty claim online to verify that this Product Notice is completed.

30 Return the machine to service.
