About Our CompanyVME was founded and incorporated in 1985 to design and manufacture process equipment packages

and custom designed process internals. Since our inception almost 20 years ago, many of our customershave been E&C companies, fabrication companies, or vessel suppliers. Our training programis designed to help our client’s operation personnel gain familiarity with and become confident in the operation of thepurchased equipment.

VME operates under a quality management system thatmeets the requirements of ISO-9001:2000, certificationissued by: AJA REGISTRARS USA LLC. As part of our quality management system, we implement a project qualityplan for each project to assure conformance to project specifications and to ensure that customer requirements aremet. We also demand the same level of conformance from allsuppliers and subcontractors involved in manufacturing andconstruction phases to ensure the same level of quality forour customers.

Project Responsibility and Guarantee

VME maintains responsibility for design, fabrication, test-ing, installation, commissioning and startup of our processequipment. Using an integrated design approach for theproject, we minimize interface problems in the field.

For our custom designed internals we can maintain thetotal responsibility concept or reduce our scope to meetyour project budget and special requirements.

In either case we warrant our products. All process equipment packages and custom designed internals aredelivered with full process and mechanical guarantees.

Research & Development

Research and development of new process technologiesand continued improvement of our existing technologiesand products is essential in keeping with the demand formore cost effective and environmentally friendly products.We continually strive to improve our products through computer modeling and independent research. Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD)Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) is a sophisticated

computational-based analysis technology that has the abil-ity to predict the fluid flow behavior and study the dynamicsof the flow.

CFD provides the power to simulate:

■ Flow of gases and liquids■ Multiphase physics■ Fluid-structure interaction

VME uses leading edge Fluent™ CFD software for:

■ Optimization of designs and process efficiency■ Reductions in cost of products■ Saving time by avoiding actual field experiments■ Troubleshooting of existing designs

Motion Studies and Separator DesignsThe use of floating oil production systems is increasing

relatively to fixed platforms because of:

■ Lower capital cost■ Suitable at any water depth■ Potential of re-use■ Hydrocarbon deposits discovered in progressively

deeper water

However, some of the processing equipment on floating systems, particularly large primary gravity separators, canbe adversely affected by floater motions that are caused bywaves, wind and currents.

Installation of porous or perforated baffles in the vesselscan effectively suppress the gross liquid movement causedby the vessel motion – sloshing.

By using the multiphase solver in CFD, the fluid behaviorin the vessel can be predicted.
