THE BIG IDEA IN 15 WORDS

ADAPT THE PROCESS TO THE PROBLEM.NEVER TRY TO FORCE THE PROBLEM INTO A PROCESS.

Why is this important?

Forcing a fixed process onto a problem can result in finding the solution first, then reframing the problem to fit that solution.

RESEARCH

I believe that to have a balanced design you must be aware of as much as possible, especially what goes on outside of the design thinking process. Despite how good your process may be, designs can still fail.

You will never be able to account for everything but with open dialouge, you drastically increase your chances of the success of any design.

I am fearless in one thing I know...

I have never met anyone I could not work with.

MICRO PROCESSBut ideas need to start somewhere and time is a factor. What do you know? We all have different backgrounds, experiences, and interests. You never know when you are next to an expert of something.

Who do you know? Making a phone call is one of the fastest ways to do quick research.

What are your intial ideas? ...Sketch them! This does two things, one you might stumble on a really good idea early (doubtful) and two, sketching is the best way to open communication. The goal is to find leads to frame the problem. Once you have the frame, you can aim the research much more precisely and not waste valuable project time.

So depending on the frame of the problem...

Iterate

Test

Test again

And I have go And never be afraid to go to some weird places in the name of research and the process.

sometimes you get to build things to test an idea...

or sometimes you get to roleplay...

Iteration is a constant, but...

And never be afraid to go to some weird places in the name of research and the process.

sometimes you get to build things to test an idea...

MOST IMPORTANTLY

Have Fun!

I take this profession very seriously, but I CHOSE to do this

and I WANT to be doing this, because I have FUN designing.

Having fun, allows me to explore ideas and methods that are out of my comfort zone and I love to push myself. But when you allow the process to adapt to the problem, you

reveal a deeper understanding of the space.

Please explore the rest of this portfolio to see what the teams I have been apart of came up with.
