Fl oati ng point Optional RTC Function Keys The Prizm2 0 has 4 powerful user def ina ble fun cti on ke ys. The user ca n de fin e action s for 3 events: when t he key is pre ss ed, while the key is pre sse d a nd when the key is released. Mul tip le tasks can be assign ed t o a single key str oke mak ing it a powerful tool i n the machine contr ol env ironment. I t is also poss ible to assi gn acti ons for a combination of two keys pressed simultaneously. The possi ble ta sks inc lud e coi l ope rations (such as coi l on, off , toggle , hold on or hold off), reg iste r oper atio ns (such as  write constant to registers, copy tags etc.), screen operations ( s uch as go t o a spec i f i c sc r een, go t o t he next de f i ne d scre en, go to previ ous scre en e tc.), alarm oper atio ns (ackn owle dge alarm, print alarm, sele ct next /pre vious alarm et c. ) and so on. Each key can have di ffe rent functions depending on t he active scr een. This can be use d effe cti vel y to nav iga te ea sil y  through the application. Access to function keys can be protected using a pass word. Pri zm2 0 has fou r user de fin abl e LEDs for the pur pose of    annun ciat ion. The LEDs are mapp ed t o a us er de fina ble register in the PLC. Changing Data Data entry obj ect s can b e defined in the Pri zm whe re data is  to be changed. Since every user wants different ways to edit  the data, the unit provides full flexibility in cursor control and key ope rations durin g data entry . The def ault assi gnme nts as shown on the keypa d can also be used for da ta en try .  A bit / coil status can also be edited in an interactive manner . The key t oggl es t he bi t st atus and ENT ke y ac cept s t he selection. T ext for the object (for example, RUN when bi t is ON and STOP whe n bit is off ) changes on the dis pla y to ind ica te the sel ect ed bi t sta tus mak ing it ver y user friendly. Screens The us er ca n def i ne as many scre ens as all owe d by t he uni t memory . A lis t of tas ks can be de fin ed bef ore sho win g a scre en, while showing a screen a s well as afte r h iding the scre en. This allow s prop er initia lizat ion of para mete rs, if    needed.  Vario us types of objects can be placed on the screen. They inclu de simp le text obje cts, data disp lay (bit type text , regis ter data s how , messa ges obje cts base d on a value in the regi ster) , alarm obje ct, err or obje ct, da ta ent ry obje ct (bit type and register type) etc. Data disp lay and data entry obje cts supp ort vario us diff eren t data forma ts such as integ er , unsigned inte ger , long integ er , f l oa t et c. which makes i t easy t o us e i n al most any ap pli cati on. Data can also be disp layed in a bar gra ph forma t.  Alarms The user can def ine up t o 16 alarms. For faster communication  with the PLC, it is possible to define all the 16 a l a rms a s con se cut ive bit s (1 wor d) i n t he PLC. I t i s po ss i bl e t o l og alarms (op tio nal) alo ng with the on/ of f times and retrie ve the m l a t e r . The al ar m ob j e ct i s us ed t o vi ew t he alarms wit h many flexible view opti ons. Keys can be assigned to ackno wled ge alarms, print or vi ew nex t / pre vious ala rms etc. Setup The Pri zm2 0 is se tup on an IBM PC usi ng the Pri zm sof tware  which is provided free of cost. The Pri zm20 i s a me mber of t he Keypad based Oper ator I nter face fami ly from Ren u Elec tron ics. It us e s a 16 X 4 b ack l i t LCD d i s p l a y a nd ha s 4 s y st em keys.
