Dear Parents
Thank you all for a productive and positive term. It is fantastic to see so many
parents involved in school life and making a significant contribution to your
child’s school education.
The stronger the link between school and home, the more beneficial it is for
your child. We are all working towards the same goal: providing the best
educational opportunities for your child in a safe and happy environment, so it
only makes sense that we work towards this goal together.
Written reports will be sent home on Friday. If you wish to talk to your child’s
teacher regarding the report, please arrange a time to meet early next term.
I hope you have a wonderful break and enjoy spending time with your family.

School Uniform Our new school shirts are well and truly under way, thanks to our hard working P&C. The
new option looks fantastic and I look forward to seeing students wearing the shirt in term
three.
The original school polo is still an option for purchase through the front office. This will
remain as part of our uniform for a two year period, where the original shirt is phased out
and the new shirt introduced. Please do not feel like you need to purchase new uniforms
before the ones you already have are worn out or do not fit anymore.
If you prefer the original option, these are still for sale through the front office at a cost of
$15.00.
The new shirt costs are as follows:
Child sizes - $20.00
Adult sizes - $24.00
If you wish to purchase a new shirt return the order form attached to the newsletter, with
payment. Shirts should be delivered early term three.

Skate Park Launch
The Wentworth Shire Council unveiled the new mobile skate park at Buronga Public School. Mayor, Bill
Wheeldon enjoyed watching Buronga students try the new facility. It was great to have visitors in our
school to let the community about new facilities available to our children. Great timing for the school
holidays.
Thank you to our wonderful P&C who cooked a sausage sizzle lunch for students on the day.

Class News
K/1 News
This semester has gone so quickly, looking back at how much work has been covered so far.
Well done to all students in K/1 for constantly having a great attitude to learning. Keep it up for the rest of the year.
Robots should already have gone home. The students had great fun making these and we wrote about them, naming them and giving them a special power or skill. Thanks to every-one who brought boxes in.
Reader folders will not be going home over the holidays, Buronga has an excellent library and it is important that you share some quality books with your child that are not seen as "readers".
Have a great break as next term will be busy. Don't forget photo day in week 2.
Thanks, Louise
1/2 News Wow we have had some very chilly mornings this
past few weeks. It is great to see the students
coming to school dressed appropriately. 1/2 have
had some shared experiences this week that we have
been able to write about. This includes writing about
making 3D models, Superhero day and our hot chip
lunch. We are also very excited for our Rewards Day
movie tomorrow afternoon. The movie that has been
selected is Zootopia, which is PG. If you do not wish
your child to watch Zootopia please contact. Myself
or Mrs Olofsson so that alternative arrangements
can be made for your child .Thank you to the great
response for recycled items. We have designed and
made our shelters, which are looking very creative.
Readers will not be going home over the holiday
break. However this would be a great opportunity to
visit and borrow from our local library. Thank you for
your continual support in your child’s learning. It is
invaluable!
Have a relaxing and safe break.
Regards
Bernadette Hogarth
3/4 News Winter is really upon us! Please ensure your children
are wearing jumpers to school these frosty mornings
and that jumpers are NAMED!!! Again, please ensure
your child has plenty to eat, as appetites tend to
increase with the cold weather. A HUGE
congratulations to ALL students in 3/4/5/6 who
competed in the Mildura Eisteddfod last Monday!
They were all a credit to our school and many people
commented on how well presented and behaved our
students were on the day. Both classes did a
fantastic job and a massive congratulations to grade
3/4 on coming second in their division out of six
schools! All the practice and hard work paid off! Well
done students and Mr Robinson. We will be having a
chip lunch on Thursday to celebrate with Mr
Robinson as part of our reward day. Reports will be
going home this week. If you have anything you wish
to discuss from the reports, please call and make a
time when we can discuss it with my undivided
attention. Have a safe and fantastic holiday and we
will see you all next term!!!

Lunchbox Ideas The never ending job of packing healthy lunches that kids want to eat is familiar to many of
us. Here are some great lunch box ideas to inspire you! Each lunch is prepared with foods from the
five food groups, which ensures your child is receiving all the nutrients they need to grow big and
strong.
School Lunches In support of our Health and Nutrition Policies we ask that students do not bring
sweets/lollies/chocolates to school for recess and lunch. We are also unable to allow
students to bring food in cans or food requiring boiling water to be added. This is a school
safety issue as you can imagine there have been some nasty incidents in schools involving
serious cuts and burns as a result of sharp edges on cans and boiling water.
School Photos
School Photos this year have been booked for Tuesday 26 July. This is the second week back
after term break. Unfortunately if your child is away on photo day, there is no opportunity
for catch up photos. The companies we work with to provide this service do not offer a
catch up session. All students need to wear full WINTER school uniform for photos. Our
whole school photo is hung in the foyer and anyone wearing alternative clothes would be
very obvious. Please return your photo envelopes to class teachers, ready for the big day.
