https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iwgJmW1uvg&list=PL8OcbSHKSLNuVcxp-225OAbaQS_b0Wjmz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TgLtF3PMOc Join in with these songs to help you practice or play games with numbers such as snakes and ladders.

Play this whack a mole game https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/whackAMole/index.html you have to hit the moles by counting in 1s! Lots of fun!

You could also try challenging yourself by starting to count from different numbers.Subtraction

This week we are learning to subtract by counting back. In class, we encourage the children to put the biggest number in their head and then show the smaller number on their fingers and count back using their fingers.

So for the number sentence 16 - 7 = __ The children put the number 16 in their head.

Then show 7 on their fingers.

Count back on your fingers.

The last number they count on their fingers is the answer.

So 16 - 7 = 9 For more help you can watch this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8b4UkMlVu8

Just for fun – The Yes/No Game

Ask an adult to put a picture of a shape or a number on

your forehead, without you peeking! Now you have to try

and guess what they have put on your head by asking

questions. You could ask: Am I a shape? Do I have four sides?

Am I number that is less than 20?

Remember, you can only ask questions that have a yes or no answer.

Children should keep active for 60 minutes a day. Use a variety of the Joe Wick’s workouts cosmic yoga on youtube or the games from Change4Life. Long walks and bike rides are good ways to burn of energy and get the heart pumping.

Life Cycle of a plant - Sunflowers

Life Cycle of a Sunflower PowerPoint – look through the PowerPoint with and adult and if there are any words that are new to you, write them down and look the word up in a dictionary or online to see if you can find out what it means.

Sunflower Life cycle sequencing – on this sheet, you need to cut out the images and stick them in the correct order of the cycle. As you are doing this you can use the PowerPoint to help you and test yourself to see if you can explain what happens in each picture.

Sunflower Life Cycle Description – using the PowerPoint to help you if you need it. You will need to write a sentence explaining each step of the sunflower life cycle on the Sunflower Life Cycle Description.

Vincent Van Gough’s Sunflowers – Take some time to research the famous artist Vincent Van Gough. Look at his famous painting ‘Sunflowers’ talk about what you think of the painting. Try drawing your own version of Van Gough’s Sunflowers, or colour in a version of it on the Sunflower colouring sheet.

Sunflower Fork Printing sheet - You could even use a fork to make a sunflower painting, check out the for instructions on how to make your own.

Five Little Sunflowers Song – Look at the song five little sunflowers, see if you can learn it off by heart and perform it to someone, why not record yourself singing it and post it on twitter or email it to [email protected]

Talking about our emotions

List of all the different emotions you can think of and make a list. Talk about how your body reacts and what kind of face you make when you are feeling one of these emotions.

Using the emotions face game, make a face that shows one of the emotions you wrote down in your list. Think about how your eyes and eyebrows look and how your mouth changes when you are pulling a face that matches that emotion. Why not get a mirror and practice pulling different faces to show those different emotions.

What emotion faces will you make?

Fred was having so much fun he carried on exploring. He went to the desert. It was really hot.

Fred had so much fun on his adventure. He found a train station and went home to plan his next adventure.
