Form Teacher Guidance Programme (FTGP)

The FTGP is designed with activities for pupils to acquire skills that will help them to:- better understand themselves (Self-Awareness);- learn ways to manage themselves (Self-Management);- better understand their family and friends (Social Awareness);- learn ways to work with their family and friends (Relationship Management) - make appropriate and responsible decisions (Responsible Decision Making)

Administrative Matters

I) Absence:• Regular attendance is expected.• Medical certificate or Parent’s letter is required to explain

absence.• Principal’s notification needed for overseas leave during

curriculum time: Leave During Curriculum Time Form

2) Punctuality• Arrival in school after 7.40 a.m. is considered late-coming• Silent reading starts at 7.30 a.m.

3) Safety and Security• Please go directly to the General Office should you be in school

for matters relating to your child

Class Routines

1) Homework Policy/ Parent letter- All homework/ parent letter issued will be recorded in the

Student’s Diary.(Students are expected to write their homework in the diary themselves)

- Homework will be collected the following day unless otherwise stated.

2) Spelling Days• English : Tuesday• Mother Tongue: Thursday

4) Return of worksheets for signature • English : after every unit • Mathematics : after every chapter (look out for parent’s

signature stamp) • Worksheets would be filed and returned periodically.

5) Discipline:Consequences for persistent incomplete and late work and other behavioural issues-Note to parents-Calling parents

6) Praise notes, group and individual points for affirmation.

Parent’s Involvement in Child’s Learning

1. Communicate with your child about his/her school experience on a daily basis.

2. Check your child’s student diary and homework file daily.3. Encourage your child to learn life skills, not just skills

pertaining to academics.4. Praise for effort, not ability (Growth Mindset).
