A HUMBLE KING Like a tonal center in music, the note to which we keep returning in today’s readings is humili-ty. We wait in joyful expectation for the coming of our Lord as King. But what we are told to expect and re-joice over is a meek and humble king, riding on an ass. Not horses or chariots of the great and mighty, but a humble beast carries the Ruler whose dominion stretch-es “from the River to the ends of the earth” (Zechariah 9:10). This King comes to banish the tools of the warri-or and bring peace. No wonder that a weary world re-joices and gives thanks to God!

WORLD FAMOUS STATUE OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA VISIT OUR PARISH ON AUGUST 11TH & 12TH, 2017

Dear Parishioners, The historic, world famous international pilgrim Vir-gin Statue of our lady of Fatima began its two year pilgrim Tour to US for Peace in March of 2016, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of our Lady at Fatima, Portugal. Our parish is honored and privileged to be selected as one of the two parishes in the diocese of Monterey and among the few privileged par-ishes in 100 dioceses of the US that she visits. She will arrive at our parish on August 11th Friday at Noon and she will de-part on Saturday August 12th Noon. We plan to have Masses in various languages, time for Rosary, adoration and night vigil. I encourage all of our parishioners to come to her feet to invoke her blessings. Detailed schedule will be announced later. Please check the upcoming bulletins for more infor-mation. The world-famous International Pilgrim Virgin Statue (IPVS) of Fatima is one of two “twin” statues sculpted in 1947 by famous sculptor José Thedim. The image reflects the precise instructions of Sister Lucia of the three children, to whom Mary appeared in Fatima. The purpose of the Pilgrim Virgin Statue tours still is to bring the graces of Fatima and Our Lady’s message of hope, peace and salvation to those many millions of people who may never have an opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Fatima itself. The statue has visited more than 100 countries, including Rus-sia and China, bringing the great message of salvation and hope, “the peace plan from Heaven,” to countless millions of people. Many miracles and signal graces have been report-ed wherever the statue has traveled. I will be away for a week starting July 10th to the 16th for my annual spiritual Retreat. Estimados feligreses, La histórica y mundialmente famosa peregrinación internacio-nal de la Estatua de Nuestra Señora de Fátima inició su gira de dos años de peregrinación por la Paz a Estados Unidos en marzo de 2016, para conmemorar el centenario de las apari-ciones de Nuestra Señora en Fátima. Nuestra parroquia tiene el honor y el privilegio de su visita al ser seleccionada como una de las dos parroquias de la diócesis de Monterrey y entre

las pocas parroquias privilegiadas en 100 diócesis de los Estados Unidos. Ella llegará a nuestra parroquia el viernes 11 de agosto al mediodía y partirá el sábado 12 de agosto al mediodía. Planeamos tener misas en varios idiomas, tiempo para el rosario, adoración y vigilia nocturna. Animo a todos nuestros feligreses a ponerse de pie para invocar sus bendiciones.
