Prevention matters for womenBetter health is about taking better care of yourself. Serious illnesses, like breast, cervical and colon cancers, don’t have obvious symptoms in the earliest stages, when there’s the greatest chance of cure. That’s why it is so important to stay on top of your preventive care needs at every age.

Step 1 Know this

Talk to your doctor Discuss this checklist with your doctor and together develop a preventive care plan that’s right for you.

Seeing your doctor for a periodic well visit can help catch serious conditions like high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. Left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to heart failure, kidney disease and stroke.
