On behalf of CoderDojo Kilkenny, we are excited to meet and share experiences with our fellow club members, parents, educators, partners, leaders and tech enthusiasts to promote tech learning for all ages. We have put together a diverse and inspiring mix of speakers, workshops, and partners to spread the boundaries of our tech knowledge. Making tech available and interesting to girls has been a priority to us, and as such we have a strong mix of female speakers and presenters. It has also been a priority to display how technology is open to all children and adults, and as such we have speakers and workshops focussing on accessibility in tech.
Throughout the day, there are 49 workshops, covering 32 different areas, in the 6 conference pillars of - Design it; Create it; Code it; Make it; Discuss it; Share it.
DojoCon 2018 compliments the 2,000 Coderdojo clubs in showing the positive side of technology and kids, exploring technology in an informal, creative, and social environment. This is particularly apt now with computer science on the curriculum in many countries including Ireland adding it as a Leaving Certificate subject for the first time in 2018.
We would like to thank our partners and sponsors, for their commitment and engagement, and without whom this conference could not take place.
Enjoy the conference. CoderDojo Kilkenny.
The wireless network is ‘DojoCon2018’, and is free. However as Wi-Fi demand will exceed capacity, we would ask you to use your own cellular data if possible, or other Wi-Fi hotspots as posted in workshop rooms.
In your Welcome Pack you have a ticket for a free hot lunch, and teas/coffees throughout the day. Tickets can be used in any of the hotel restaurants and bars. Queues are likely at peak times so we would ask for your patience.
