WelcomeOn behalf of the PDGA and Columbia County, Georgia; welcome to the International Disc Golf Center!
We could not be more thrilled to have you here for the 9th Edition of the Ed Headrick Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic presented by REC TEC Grills. For some of you, this may be your first trip to the IDGC, while many of you are experienced veterans on our three championship level courses. Whether this is your first trip, or fortieth, our main goal is to provide an exceptional experience through both competition and ancillary events to exceed each and every one of your expectations. Please know that our staff is here to help, and we both encourage and look forward to hearing your feedback throughout the event.
When you’re not on the course, we encourage you to take advantage of your time in Columbia County. Friday night, the International Disc Golf Center is ecstatic to once again host the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Not only will you get an opportunity to support those who have contributed to disc golf so selflessly through the years, you’ll also get to enjoy a phenomenal meal provided and cooked by the chefs from REC TEC Grills. On Saturday night, travel down to the heart of Augusta to enjoy music and good libations at Stillwater Taproom. As a disc golfer owned taproom, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to reflect on your great play earlier in the day with others.
This event would not be possible without our sponsors, volunteers, competitors, and staff. When you see a volunteer on the course, please make an effort to thank them for volunteering their time to improve your playing experience. When you pass a sponsor in the vending area, please thank them for supporting the event, and when you see other competitors, please do your part in ensuring everyone is having fun and promoting the true spirit of the game.
We wish all competitors the best of luck this weekend and look forward to awarding our 2018 Champions!

You are watching the greatest disc golfers of this generation competing in the National Tour Finale – where season long Player of the Year races will be decided. The guidelines below are designed to maximize your – and the player’s – enjoyment and safety during the event.Following the Pros – Please observe silence throughout each shot and hold completely still until all players in each group have thrown or holed out. Be sure to give players, caddies and camera crews plenty of space as they move from a basket to the next tee. Stay behind all players, caddies, cameras and Event Staff throughout the entire round unless directed by an official, officer, or Event Director. Event Staff will be available for assistance through-out the week. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Please be sure to obey their instructions: they are there to keep you safe and help you enjoy the competition.
Personal Safety – Always stay alert. Golf discs flying at high speeds can cause serious injury. Similar to traditional golf, yelling “FORE!” is the common warning to announce an incoming shot. Be aware of flying discs at all times. In case of rain, grounds may become slippery. Watch your step. Please keep an eye on children at all times especially near water’s edge
Weather Warning Policy - Through the use of lightning detectors, radar and forecast monitoring, we will do our best to remain aware of any potential hazardous weather conditions and relay that information to the players, spec-tators and guests in attendance. If suspension of play is necessary it will be signaled by three quick blasts of an air horn and you should seek shelter.
Smoking – If you smoke, please be sure to extinguish your cigarettes and matches and make sure they are completely out. Also, be mindful of your smoke: be sure it is not a distraction to the players or you will be asked by the Event Staff to put it out. Smoking is not allowed inside any building of the IDGC.
Autograph Policy – We aim to provide an optimum competition environment for our players. There is a no-autograph policy in effect on the course at all times during competitive play and also when players are in the practice area. Autographs may be obtained in common spaces any other time of the day.
Photo/Videography Policy – Cameras are allowed on the course with discre-tion. Those choosing to take pictures or video must use extreme caution not to create a distraction to players. Images of the Ed Headrick Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic captured by cameras or audio and video equipment cannot be used for broadcast, publication or any commercial purpose without written consent from the Tournament Director and PDGA Media Manager.

George Sappenfield PDGA #376
In 1965, college student Sappenfield, worked summers as a playground counselor for Fresno Parks and Recre-ation Department. During that period it occurred to him that the kids on his playground could play the game of golf using frisbees instead of a ball and set of clubs. His newly discovered “Frisbee Golf” was later included in
the annual National Junior Frisbee program, proliferating the game all over the country. His protégés include several Hall of Famers, John Bird in particular. John David and Charlie Callihan also took his recre-ational sports and frisbee course of study at Fresno State University. After moving from Fresno, Sappenfield designed a number of courses in North Carolina and the surrounding area.
Andi Lehmann-Young PDGA #2094
Player/Promoter Andi Lehmann-Young has contributed to the disc golf as a PDGA Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Midwest Region and is Co-founder of the Houston Flying Disc Society. As a member of the Disc Golf Course Designers Group she has designed too many courses to list here. Andi has been honored as a Sports Woman of
the Year and a Texas Disc Golf Hall of Famer. More recently, she oper-ates her Spring Valley Golf & Disc Golf course and pro shop located in Spring, Texas.
Jay “Yeti” Reading PDGA #15864
Jay “Yeti” Reading has introduced disc golf to tens of thousands of people. This Bob West Memorial Sportsman of the Year has accumulated over 100 professional wins and nine World titles. Jay was honored with the E.D.G.E. Award for his work as co-founder of the Educational Disc Golf Experience. Twenty-disc golf courses in six states and three countries bear his signature as a designer.
