Re-creation….

The different faces help to give the audience idea of Ollie’s character.

The main focus of these photos is the headphones that my model is wearing. This is why he is sitting against a blank white wall, and the photo is a close up shot. I wanted my photo to focus on the headphones so that it helped to portray my magazine as a music magazine. By using an indirect address, more attention has been brought to the headphones. The lighting in the photos is bright enough to ensure that the image is clear. I did not use any of these photos in my final features page because I found that the background was slightly dull, and i wanted my audience to feel like they were getting to know “Ollie", with these photos being indirect, this didn't work.

My partner and I decided to try a new approach to images for my feature page. I then had to think more about my mise en scene, in the previous images it wasn’t that clear that Ollie was an artist, my main task was to produce a music magazine and I wasn’t achieving the right look. I then did more research into feature page images and came up with an idea I had seen in Q magazine.

Re-creation of photos for CollageI decided to use a model of the same age as my target audience, because I felt that it was appropriate for fitting the character of the new “teenage heart throb”

Thinking more about my mise en scene…

The lighting in the majority of the pictures wasn’t very good, which in some cases can be bad for the magazine, however because we were going to edit the pictures into black and white we could then edit the lighting so that the pictures appears lighter.

Brand identity…My partner and I decided that to establish our brand

identity that every photo that was on our features page needed to be in black and white and then we would pull an item of purple that the model would be wearing when taking the photos. Which shows our house colours in the photo. When re-doing our music magazine, we decided that on the front cover however this would not grab the readers attention enough if the picture was in black and white. Audiences, specifically the audience we have chosen- a teenage girl, needs colour in order to be interested.

Another decision I chose to make in order to establish my brand identity on my features page, was to include a folio at the bottom of the features page, this is so that there is additional branding for the magazine. As seen below;

You can see here that this is exactly the same logo as my front cover; only smaller.

What next? After taking the main photos for my features page I decided that because it would be a double page spread, i

needed more photos, so I began to do more research into male music artists. After looking on the internet I found many images, that I used for inspiration in order to take my next lot of photos.

We decided not to have the model smoking because it would create the wrong sort of impression for our reader. Teenagers are easily influenced.

Re-creation of photos

I decided to only use on photo out of this re-creation because the other ones did not go well with my overall look on my

features page
