Immigration
Act of coming to live permanently to a foreign land
My Grandparents immigrated to the united states in the
1950s during the fourth wave of immigration.

Ports of Entry
A port of entry is a place in which people enter a
country.
The port of entry that my grandparents used to come
into the United States was El Paso, Texas, which
borders the Mexican state of Chihuahua.

Cross Border Activities
Refers to any activity preformed across the border of
two countries.
Before my grandfather came to the united states, he
was employed here. He lived in Chihuahua, Mexico
and would travel back and forth everyday so he can
have money to bring back to his family.

Pull Factors
A pull factor is anything that draws somebody to
another place.
Pull factors that made my family come to California was
the work needed here.
Other pull factors that had my family moving around
was the search of a safer place to raise their families

Conclusion
There are many more connections that connect my
family to this course
Through the vocab, interviews, and maps that I have
done in this course, I was able to learn many things
about my family history that I did not know.
