    De Core Group

De Core has established South Asia's first State-of-the Art Nano Semiconductor fabrication plant through

two units - in Gandhinagar, Gujarat & a separate chip-packaging unit in Noida (National Capital Region of

    Delhi).

The Gujarat fabrication unit is 10,000 SQMT, located on a five acre site in the Gandhinagar Electronic SEZ.

This facility is equipped for commercial scale growth of III IV materials and their processing into LED dies,

which the company markets as dies-on-tape and LED modules. The Gandhinagar plant is planned for

production of upto 1.1 billion LED chips (also referred to as dies) per annum in the first phase, ramping

upto 20 billion in the next four years.

Through De Core Science and Technologies Ltd., Noida; the group has established a State-of-the Art chip-

packaging unit in Noida Special Economic Zone (free of duties, cesses & taxes) using innovative concepts

and technologies to produce lighting applications which maintain high luminous efficacy of LED chips. The

Noida facility is approximately 6,000 SQMT and has the distinction of being the largest chip packaging unit

in this part of the world. De Core manufactures LED modules and packages, modules on PCB and custom

luminaires, with a specific focus on the manufacturing of LED general area lights, LED street lights, LEDrural lamps, auto lighting components and large area tiled video displays (Video walls). De Core with its in-

house capability also designs its own power supplies, drives and controls for LEDs.

De Core has set up the fabrication unit, the chip packaging unit and luminaire manufacturing assembly lines

to achieve complete vertical integration of LED technology, hence ensuring full control over quality and

pricing. As an example are - our investment and ownership of an existing LED fabrication in St. Petersburg,

Russia; our collaboration with Sheffield University, U.K; our Joint R&D program with world famous Ioffe

Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia. The Company possesses several IPR's in the field of materials, control and

manufacture of LED products, and has received private equity funding in the amount of Rs. 1,100 cr.

List of De Core existing and prospective clients includes, Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation

of India, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Indo Asian Fusegear Ltd., Thorn Lighting, Oil & Natural Gas

Commission, Central Electronics Ltd., Construction Companies, Airports, and many more in making etc.

Lighting makes upto about 20% of the global electricity consumption

    A whopping 3.2 TW of the total energy consumption of 16 TW (= 1.6 x 1013

    W)

Leading to an even more whopping 29 billion metric tons of CO2

    emissions

Hence, need for efficient energy and efficient consumption is growing, driven by :

Energy prices & lack of stability of oil producing nations

Economic growth especially in developing countries like BRIC driven by unclean

energy (i.e., fossil fuel like coal, petrol & diesel)

Major energy shortages, in India as high as 12%

Environmental and climate change mandates (Kyoto, Copenhagen) of reducing

    emissions

    The Energy Imperative

Real issues of energy gaps, economic needs and environment crisis really makes a

powerful case for switch to LED lighting

    WHY LED

    WHY LED

Private & Confidential De Core Science & Technologies

    The Energy Imperative

Improving energy end-use and supply efficiencies far preferable than producing more energy

Conventional energy has enormous inefficiencies across the cycle from inefficient production

(only 33% of energy converted to electricity) to transmission losses (20% of produced

    electricity)

One unit of energy saved at the consumer end avoids nearly 2.5 to 3 times of capacity

augmentation due to production, transmission and distribution losses

LED lighting = Silver Bullet ! LED Technology is now efficient enough (~130 lumens / watt, and growing ) to drive real

and immediate benefits in lighting energy savings

    Generate strong financial returns

Better than investments in conventional energy supply

LED technology for lighting applications has the potential for wide-scale use and large

    installations

    LED ADVANTAGE

Private & Confidential De Core Science & Technologies

    LED Lighting Advantages

Environmentally friendly, high quality lighting and low overall cost of ownership

Long Life Times & slow failure:

LEDs have a life of50,000+ hours (though time to complete failure may be longer)

CFLs about 15,000 hours and incandescent bulbs about 1,500 hours

LEDs fail by dimming over time, rather than abrupt burn-out

    Luminous Efficacy:

LEDs produce significantly more light per watt (130 lm/W) than CFL (54 lm/W) andincandescent bulbs (11 lm/W)

    Power Efficiency:

LED lights use 85% less energy than incandescent bulbs and less than 50% of CFLs

    = Huge cost savings plus

    LED ADVANTAGE

Private & Confidential De Core Science & Technologies

    LED Lighting Advantages

    Cool Light :

LEDs radiate very little heat that makes it highly power efficient This can substantially lower air-conditioning needs and costs (a major contributor to CO2emissions)

Also, prevents damage to sensitive and flammable objects / fabrics

Traditional incandescent bulbs waste 98% of their energy producing wasted heat!

Rapid On / Off Time :

LEDs have rapid on and restrike times achieving full brightness in nanoseconds

    Cycling :

LEDs are ideal for use in applications that are subject to frequent on-off cycling

CFLs burn out quickly when cycled frequently while halogens require a long time before

    restarting

    Dimming :

LEDs can very easily be dimmed with digital control

Versatile color : LEDs can emit light of an intended color without the use of color filters that traditional lighting

methods require. This is more efficient and can lower initial costs

    LED ADVANTAGE

Private & Confidential De Core Science & Technologies

    LED Lighting Advantages

    No Radiation:

Unlike traditional forms LEDs does not emit infrared or UV in beam output and, as aconsequence, does not attract insects and bugs!

    Robust to shock:

LEDs, being solid state components, are difficult to damage with external thermal and vibration

shock, unlike fluorescent and incandescent bulbs which are fragile

    Focus:

The solid package of the LED produces directed light for increased system efficiency Incandescent and CFLs require an external reflector

    Pure non-flickering light:

LEDs always produce a clear and consistent light that makes viewing objects easier on the

eyes (flickering light from traditional bulbs linked with migraines and even epilepsy)

    Toxicity:

LEDs do not contain mercury or lead, unlike other lighting sources

    Green friendly:

LEDs are ideal for use with alternative or renewable energy resources like solar and wind power

    SAVINGS

Private & Confidential De Core Science & Technologies

Saving/Earning due to use of LED

1.A huge amount of copper can be saved in new building asit will require less copper in wiring process.

2.As the LED is cool light A huge amount of energy can be

saved through air conditioner as the room temperature does

    not rise .

3.The company can earn carbon credit by using LED as

there is less amount of carbon dioxide emission
