Little Lambs Christian Learning Center

Doctrinal Statement

The Bible - We believe that the Scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired Word of God.

God - We believe there is but one living and true God who is infinite, eternal and unchangeable. We further believe that God existing in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus - Jesus is both the eternal Son of God and virgin-born Son of man. Having led a sinless life, He died on the cross for the sins of mankind. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His physical ascension and His visible return to earth to establish His earthly kingdom.

Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit executes the will of God through convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. It is the Holy Spirit, who empowers Born-Again Christians to live a lifestyle pleasing to God,

Man - We believe that all men are born sinners and because of sin are separated from God.  Each can be forgiven by choosing the free gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. All who genuinely trust Christ are regenerated by theHoly Spirit and united with Him for eternity.

Future - Jesus Christ's return is imminent. He will personally gather all who believe in Him and will establish His kingdom. All who reject Jesus Christ will endure eternal punishment in hell while those who place their faith in Christ will enjoy eternal life in heaven with Him.

NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY:

Little Lambs Christian Learning Center does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, or national or ethnic origin in admittance, education, or other administrative policies and extends to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the Little Lambs CLC.

DISCIPLINE & GUIDANCE POLICY

Little Lambs Christian Learning Center staff members and teachers are trained to use a positive method of discipline and follow the Holy Bibles scripture, Hebrews 12: 4-11, when disciplinary action or redirection is necessary. Hebrews 12: 4-11 may be broken down into these statements.

1. The necessity of discipline: to deter destruction and cultivate obedience (v. 4)2. The means of discipline: actions and words (v. 5).3. The motive in discipline: to express love (vv. 6-9).4. The goal of discipline: to teach obedience (v. 9).5. The result of discipline: short-term pain and long-term gain (vv. 10-11).

Little Lambs CLC, LLC will consistently utilize praise and encouragement of good behavior instead of focusing only upon unacceptable behavior; reminding a child of behavior expectations daily by using scripture, teacher expectations, and redirecting behaviors. Little Lambs Christian Learning Center does use "time away" and loss of privileges (recess, special projects, and other privileges) as a form of managing behavior. Little Lambs Christian Learning Center staff will never use Corporal Punishment or hurt or humiliate a child.

If you have children of your own in the facility, but in another classroom, trust that their teachers will take care of them just as you are taking care of the children in your care.

In all situations in this Emergency Preparedness Plan, "Director". In the Director's absence, the Assistant Director or Director Qualified on duty assumes the role of Director and then designates another staff member to assume the responsibilities of the Assistant Director. In all situations in this Emergency Preparedness Plan, the Director or designated Controlling Person will notify Child Care Licensing and/or the Health Department and/or call 911 as each situation dictates. In all situations in this Emergency Preparedness Plan, the Director or designated Controlling Person may delegate any portion of his/her duties to other staff members, volunteers or emergency personnel as he/she deems necessary.

Parents must wait until the drill is complete and children have returned to the building to sign their child into the program. Parents may feel free to wait with the child’s class in the designated safe-zone outside of the building until the drill is complete. In the event of a real fire/emergency situation, the director or designate will inform each classroom teacher that the school will be closing. At this time any parents waiting to sign their child in will have to leave the premises with their child. All other parents or emergency contact persons will be notified by telephone of the situation. As with the sick child pick up policy, children must be picked up within 45 minutes of the telephone call. Parents wishing to sign their child out of the program during a fire/emergency drill or real fire/emergency situation are expected to have patience with the staff as they are trying to maintain order during a often hectic and dangerous situation. If the center is having a real fire/emergency situation, parents will be asked to wait until the director or designee has accounted for all staff and children and gives the staff permission to release children. Once again, it is important for parents and staff to work together, remain calm, and cooperate with the fire/emergency personnel and center administration during these important and critical situation.

Accident

Should your child be involved in an incident/accident during the course of the school day, a staff member will complete an Incident/Accident Report.

Parents or persons designated to act “in loco parentis” are required to sign any incident/accident reports from the day at pick-up. The classroom teacher will be able to briefly discuss the matter with you at pick-up. However, should you feel it necessary to have an in depth discussion or meeting, it is most appropriate to schedule the meeting for a later date because the teacher is responsible for supervising the remaining children in the classroom. A telephone conference may be scheduled for later in the day or for the next day at nap/rest time if the parent(s) is unable to meet at the center during the course of the day.

Should a person other than the parent or one designated to act “in loco parentis” pick-up the child, a parent or person designated to act “in loco parentis” must sign the Incident/Accident Report and return a copy to the center director within 24 hours. Failure to sign and return an Incident/Accident in this time period will result in your child’s exclusion from the program until such time as the Report is returned signed.

Little Lambs Christian Learning, LLC.PARENTS HANDBOOKRevised November, 2018

There are several ways you can help us maintain the best possible teaching atmosphere for your child:

Communicate any concerns regarding our program or your child immediately to staff. Pick up and read the notices and information left for you in your child’s folder and/or

posted outside your child’s classroom, at the office , or in e-mail. Pick up your child’s papers/projects daily. Their work is very important to them and

provides another means of communication between parent and child and helps the parent share in the child’s day.

Please do not allow your child to bring gum or candy to the classroom. We STRONGLY encourage you to allow your child to eat what we are serving that day, unless, of course, food allergies are a concern. In that case, we ask that you bring a note from your physician. Periodically check on your child’s supply of extra clothing. Please take home soiled clothing promptly.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICIESLittle Lambs Christian Learning Center follows the inclement weather procedures of the Midland Independent School District and DPS advisors. Please check local TV stations and our Facebook page for announcement of closing. Full tuition is due during inclement weather times. In case of serious emergencies such as tornados, fire, storms, or loss of power/water, parents will be notified, if possible, and children will be cared for until parents or emergency contacts arrive.

CURRICULUMLittle Lambs Christian Learning Center uses early ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum with all our students, starting at 6 weeks. The ABC Jesus Loves Me curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based preschool curriculum focusing on Bible, academics, and development. Each curriculum contains goals and objectives to gauge the child's learning and growth. Beyond the weekly lesson plans, ideas, and materials are provided to support parents and teachers along the way.

ABC Jesus Loves Me Mission and Vision Statement:

To help adults be intentional with the children in their lives.

ABCJLM Motto:

Intentional learning through play.

ABCJLM Beliefs:

We believe children are blessings from God. He has created each child unique and special. Learning should be incorporated into the child's day instead of controlling his/her day. We believe preschoolers should be able to explore, play, and learn new things through trial and error; not through "drill and kill." Our simple and basic curriculum allows success for the most energetic child but allows for supplemental material to be added for the child who desires more sit-down activities.

CLASSROOM ASSIGNMENTS

Classroom assignments are based on each individual child’s chronological age, developmental age, emotional age, and physical age. Little Lambs Christian Learning Center typically will transition children to new classrooms twice a year, however from time to time we may request a transition sooner based on the individual child’s needs.
