APPLICATION FOR PARTIAL SCHEDULE

STUDENT NAME: ____________________ COUNSELOR: ____________________ INSTRUCTIONS: Students are to complete Part 2 with their counselor. Parents are to complete Part I. Only seniors may be granted partial schedules. An applicant for a partial schedule must meet ALL of the following conditions:

1. have earned at least 22 credits; 2. has successfully completed HSA requirement; 3. take one English class and one math class; 4. take at least two academic classes; 5. have transportation from school immediately following the last scheduled class*; and 6. have parent/guardian complete and sign a statement describing the need for a partial schedule.

Special needs include the following: a. concurrent college enrollment; b. health problems certified in writing on letterhead by a physician; c. Financial need requiring the student to work. A statement from the employer on

company letterhead verifying employment must be attached; or d. Internship

Please note that a partial day schedule may impact your acceptance to some colleges and universities. Please contact the institutions that you are planning to apply to for the college policy on this.

Junior/Senior dues

The rising senior class officers have made junior dues $40 and the final day to pay them is tomorrow, June 12th. Cash/Checks are accepted, checks can be made out to Meade High School.

Senior Dues are starting at $70 but you get a $20 discount if you pay before Thanksgiving break.

 A student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) is determined by quality points earned from all courses taken in grades 9-12. This includes required courses and electives. Points are earned at the following rate:

Class Rank

Class rank is based on final semester weighted average in all subjects taken in grades 9-11. Class rank is first determined at the end of the sixth semester (junior year).

Class rank is re-calculated at the end of the first semester of the senior year and at the end of the senior year.

Students having the same GPA are assigned the same rank.
