This raises the vehicle’s center of gravity, creating high lateral loads in turns. The high loads are transferred into the ball joints, causing radial deflection (sideways “play” or movement), stress and wear on bearing surfaces. MOOG ® K5289/K5335 Lower Ball Joint Features a newly designed forged housing with superior fine-grain metallurgical structure for additional strength and durability. NASCAR ® -proven split-bearing technology eliminates excessive radial deflection often experienced with high lateral loads. The ball joint assembly maintains maximum ball-to-bearing contact for greater load-carrying capability. Belleville washer preload provides lower stud articulation torque with minimal axial clearance. Hardened powdered-metal bearings and a hardened full-ball stud with grease grooves provide the most durable wear surface available, for extended service life. A flange style sealed boot equipped with a special grease-relief valve keeps contamination out and provides a serviceable, sealed environment. Lower ball joints experiencing premature wear

Today’s SUVs and light trucks are equipped with large wheel and tire assemblies that result in taller ride heights. This raises the vehicle’s center of gravity, creating high lateral loads in turns. The high loads are transferred into the ball joints, causing radial deflection (sideways “play” or movement), stress and wear on bearing surfaces.

MOOG® K5289/K5335 Lower Ball Joint

• Features a newly designed forged housing withsuperior fine-grain metallurgical structure for additionalstrength and durability.

Las rótulas inferiores se desgastan de manera prematura

• Ofrece una nueva caja forjada con una estructura metalúrgica de grano fino superior para mayor resistencia y durabilidad.

• La tecnología comprobada por NASCAR® de cojinete seccional elimina la desviación radial excesiva que se produce a menudo con cargas laterales altas. El conjunto de la rótula mantiene un contacto máximo entre la rótula y el cojinete para mayor capacidad de carga.

• La arandela Belleville precargada ofrece una menor articulación inferior del pivote con un juego axial mínimo.

• Los cojinetes de metal sinterizado templado y un pivote esférico completo templado con ranuras de grasa brindan la superficie más resistente al desgaste para una duración prolongada.

• Una bota protectora sellada estilo pestaña equipada con una válvula especial de descarga de grasa impide la contaminación y permite obtener buenas condiciones en un ambiente sellado.

Los SUV y camionetas actuales están equipados con grandes ruedas y neumáticos lo cual hace que la altura del vehículo sea mayor. El centro de gravedad se sitúa en un punto más alto y crea cargas laterales altas en las curvas. Estas cargas se transfieren a las rótulas y provocan una desviación radial (un “juego” o movimiento lateral), mayor presión y desgaste de las superficies de los cojinetes.
