Bhavesh Hirani Evaluation: Preliminary Activity For this preliminary task and for our upcoming task we have to work in groups in order to succeed our task given. Our first task as a group was the preliminary task for which as a team called our selves ‘revolve productions’ I personally believe that me as a producer worked very effectively with the others in my group not only because they are friends but we got along very well when it came to decision making and getting organised. Our organisation for the preliminary task as a group was also very well, as our preliminary task involved a member of staff we as a group had to make sure that this specific member of staff was available on the day that we were going to shoot which was the case. I personally believe my organisation skill were very well indeed as before we set off to shoot our preliminary task I made quick printouts of the script so that I could give one copy to the other acting in our preliminary task if I was not organised and I did not print this out we would have wasted allot of time making up lines as we go along which would take up the battery life of our camera. Our planning skills in my point were very well-done I say this because a week before we set off to do our preliminary shooting we made up a storyboard of what we were going to do, we made a script, and we also in the storyboard included what camera shots we were going to use in that specific scene i.e. close-up, long shot etc.

Evaluation: Preliminary ActivityFor this preliminary task and for our upcoming task we have to work in groups in order to succeed our task given.

As you can see in the red writing above it clearly states what is happening in that scene and it illustrates what camera shot we was/or going to use, in this case a long shot. I believe that if we set out to do the filming without any of the mentioned above we would not have succeed as we would have wasted valuable time thinking of what we were going to do next, in my point of view before any sort of filming is done a storyboard should be created as it helps you out in many positive ways i.e. if you forget something you can always refer back to your storyboards. Going back to the first paragraph about working in my group, our group when we were filming came up with great ideas whilst we were filming everyone in our group were pitching in with great ideas and we did improvise as we went along. For the planning my skills helped us as a group to complete our filming as I made up the script of what to say in our short clip and I believe without this (the script) our preliminary would have not been as great as there would not be any dialogue.

My strength in the preliminary task was a bit of everything as I helped out with many thing in our group such as I gave my point across when one of our group member was editing I also helped our camera-women whilst she filmed the task I personally think that each member in our group had more than one strength. There are a few areas in which I need to improve on to help me with my thriller but one main area we as a group need to improve on Is following the rules as in our preliminary we broke the 180 rule which is a guideline in film making which says that 2 characters in the same scene (in our case) should always have the same left or right relationship to each other.

By the time we shoot our thriller I personally will do more research on the 180 rule so that we do not break this rule in our final piece and we as a group do not lose valuable marks for making errors, so this would me something that I do to help me and our group with our thriller.
