FS 2500The FS-2500 is successor to the FS-2000. After successfully launching the FS-1500 Kesel is now introducing a new revised machine to its range of big bandsaw blade milling machines. It features the high quality Siemens CNC Sinumerik 840 Dsl control system as well as optimized Siemens servo drive units. Improvements to many areas of the machine increase productivity, quality, efficiency and operability.

The machine has been optimized for an efficient tooth profile milling of carbon and bi-metal bandsaw blades as well as backing material for carbide-tipped bandsaw blades up to a band width of 125 mm and a profile milling range of 32 - 0.5 TPI. Employing the new FS-2500 bandsaw blade milling machine in your production process guarantees advantages such as fully automatic feed-through milling, short cycle times, optimal results for tooth geometry and cutting edges as well as the reliability of the extensive safety equipment.

Control

The new Siemens Sinumerik 840D sl with optimized user interface makes a complete and flexible NC-programming possible thus allowing for an automatic workflow. The user interface is now also available with entry screens and forms to directly enter parameters into the system.

Magnetic filter roller

Both emulsion as well as oil can be used as cooling lubricants. The chips are removed through the coolant. A magnetic roller takes over the cleaning. The chips are removed via a belt conveyor into a chip container.

Bandsaw blades

Manufacturers worldwide produce their different bandsaw blades on Kesel bandsaw blade milling machines. These machines offer almost unlimited possibilities for the tooth profile milling processes and the band sizes they have been designed for. Bimetal bands as well as carbon bands can be milled. If you are working with a special band type we will be happy to design the machine and the tool according to your specifications.

Pay-out system

The raw steel bands are placed in the pay-out system. Up to 40 steel bands can be stored there. The variable adjustment for the distances of the band feed-in stations reduces changeover times and avoids damages to the bands. This avoids damages to the bands and considerably reduces changeover times. In addition to the pay-out stations numerous vertical and horizontal pay-out and take-up systems tailored to the machines are available. The-se systems can be adjusted in many ways to meet any customer requirements.

Milling

Zero backlash drive units based on ball-bearing spindles and a power transmission specially designed for this purpose yield the highest results in running smoothness and tooth quality. The Kesel milling machines can either operate in a climb milling or conventional milling process.

Its milling performance makes the new FS 2500 the ideal machi-ne for efficiently milling larger tooth profiles of e.g. 0.7/1.0 TPI. However, the different tool dimensions available allow a produc-tive volume production of smaller bands, e.g. 27 mm bands, as well.
