CABLE TRAYS

All kind of metal sheets including Pre-galvanized, Electro-Galvanized, Alu-

zinc, Corten A, Stainless Steel and DKP Sheet products can be used for

production. Products can be finished according to customer needs as in pre-

galvanized, hot dip galvanized, electro-galvanized, plastic-coated and electrostatic

powder coated.

Cable Trays of Kirac Metal are produced in 5 different types; standard type,

Heavy Duty Type, Cover Fit into Type, Marine Type and Cable Ladders.

Trunking systems are also being produced.

Standard heights (H) of cable trays are H:40mm, H:60mm and H:100mm for

Standard and Heavy Duty Types. Heights of Cover Fit into Cable Trays are H:60mm

and H:100mm and heights of cable ladders are H:50mm, H:70mm and H:100mm.

The product range for width is 50mm to 900mm and for thickness is 0,8mm to

2,5mm.

Standard length (L) of cable trays and cable ladders of Kirac Metal is

L:3000mm. Cable Trays or Cable Ladders are connected to each other by using two

pieces of connector parts.

‘U’ Ceiling supports, tray fixing supports and threaded fixing rods are

necessary accessories for most applications. They provide a stable base for cable

trays on any surface type. In each 1500mm,using a tray support brackets is

recommended.

Standard length of the threaded hanging rods are produced at L:500mm,

L:1000mm, L:1500mm and L:2000mm. Lengthening nut is recommended to lengthen

threaded rods.

Tray support brackets are mounted to supports with M8 steel dowel bolt. And

using of M10 steel dowel bolt is suggested for the trays which have width of more

than 300mm. Also M10 and M12 steel dowel bolts are recommended for NPI profiles.

Screw sets or split pins can be used in tray fixing supports, which are mounted

to carrying profiles, depending on the loads.

Using chains are suggested as an alternative to threaded hanging rods for

hanging when the ceiling is higher.

‘U’ CEILING RACK MOUNTING TRAY FIXING SUPPORTS MOUNTING

Kirac CABLELANE systems are easily mountable to metal conduits. A range

of accessories are used for complete compatibility.

THREADED FIXING REODS MOUNTING PIPE SYSTEMS MOUNTING

Trunking system offers easy installation and accessibility compared to other

cable management systems. Turnings can easily carry high voltage and low voltage

cables on any accessible surface.

Road Barriers are also within our product portfolio.

C Profiles are commonly used products that strengthen any support systems.

By using separator, the power and communication circuits can be supported in

the same cable trays but in different parts. Separators are produced at 3000mm

length. For each separator, using 3 pieces of screw sets are recommended. Height of

the separator should be compatible with the height of the cable tray. Same type of

separators can be used both for cable trays and cable ladders.

APPENDIX

The basic specification for hot dip galvanized coatings on iron and steel

articles is defined by a single standard, BS EN ISO 1461 "Hot dip galvanized

coatings on iron and steel articles - specifications and test methods".

The galvanizer acts as a specialist subcontractor to a steel fabricator and, as

such, his contractual relationship is with the fabricator, not with the ultimate user. It is

important, therefore, that the user's requirements for galvanizing are made clear to

the fabricator and that all communications concerning galvanizing are channeled

through the fabricator. To ensure the best quality and technical back-up service, it

should be stated that the work be 'processed by a member of Galvanizers

Association'.

When hot dip galvanizing is specified, the surface of the steel is completely

covered with a uniform coating whose thickness is determined principally by the

thickness of the steel being galvanized (see below).

This is an important advantage of the galvanizing process; a standard coating

thickness is applied almost automatically. The actual thickness of galvanized coating

achieved varies with steel section size, surface profile and surface composition.

Actual coating weights are often much more than the minimum specified in the

standard. As coating life expectancy figures quoted are based on the minimum

coating thickness they are therefore usually very conservative.

APPERANCE

During visual quality inspections, all essential areas of the galvanized parts

have to be free of enlargements/bubbles, roughness, zinc peaks and defects. The

meanings of ‘roughness’ and ‘smoothness’ are relative. Therefore, roughness of

partly galvanized coatings is different to that of continuous galvanized parts.

The appearance of dark or light grey areas (e.g., a network structure of grey

area), white rust, or slight unimportant surface unevenness is not really a problem,

providing the minimum value of the zinc coating thickness is still achieved. White rust

or staining predominantly consisting of zinc oxide, usually occurs with light or dark

corrosion items, when stocking hot dip galvanized products in humid conditions.

COATING THICKNESS

The thickness of zinc coating should be conforming to the values stated in the

following table. Deviations on these thicknesses are permitted but should be agreed

separately.

The inspection of the coating thickness is normally carried out in accordance

with the requirements of DIN EN ISO 2178. In this case, the measured area is

relatively small and some of the individual values may be lower than the values of the

local or average coating thickness. A sufficient number of measurements within a

reference area are to be obtained by using magnetic tests or graphic methods, in

order to achieve the required local thickness.

REPAIRING

The total area of all individual areas without coating that needs to be restored

shall not exceed %0.5 of the total surface area and the maximum size of a single

area without coating shall not exceed 10 cm².

The repairing process should include the removal of dirt and the necessary

cleaning and surface pre-treatment required ensuring complete adherence.

The coating thickness of any repaired area should be at least 30µm more than

the required local coating thickness shown in the table. If you must cut the cable tray

depending on your application, usage of galvanized zinc spray is suggested.

ELOCTROSTATIC POWDER COATING

In magnetic area, metals and powder paint materials are oppositely charged

and result of this powder paint coats surface of metal with effect of magnet. The

coating is applied by electrostatic gun-spray then hardened in the oven. The heat-

hardening powders offer good resistance to abrasion, excellent durability and require

little maintenance. This coating is applied on pre-galvanized metal sheet and

provides double protection. It gives high performance at chemical and mechanical

test and it has wide variety of color. When durability of UV and heat of the coating are

examined, usage of epoxy paint for indoor application and polyester paint for outdoor

application are seemed suitable.

Epoxy Paint;

Resistance against chemicals substance is very high.

Resistance against corrosion is excellent

Surface hardness is high.

It is not suitable for exterior application since, it has no UV resistance and

durability, it becomes chalky.

Yellowing in color may occur by time.

Dull paints in different brightness and properties can be easily formulated.

Epoxy/ Polyester Paint;

Resistance against exterior effects is limited.

Yellowing in color may occur by time.

If there is no excessive corrosive medium or chemical effect, it is suitable to be

applied inside interior locations.

It is difficult to obtain fully dull paint.

Mechanical properties are suitable for daily application such as impact,

flexibility and scratching.

Polyester Paint;

UV resistance is very well, it provides excellent resistance and durability under

exterior conditions.

It will not become yellowish and will not change color.

Mechanical properties are very well (such as impact, flexibility etc.)

Ral 7016, Ral 7023, Ral 7031, Ral 7035, Ral 9023 are the most preferable

codes for the paints. But we may use customer chosen color code if we had to.

Couple of captures from our Painting Area. Our painting area has 127 meters

of conveyor line and conveyor line’s speed 1 meter/minute.
