Once again we join the global wave of prayer from Ascension to Pentecost, started by our Archbishops in 2016 which has now been joined by many denominations across the world, praying to light up the world with the light of Jesus. Here is your guide for the week of prayer in our churches in Long Melford, Alpheton and Shimpling. PRAYING ALONE In this time of lockdown we can feel lonely as we are separated from family, friends or colleagues but as I (Nicky Lawson) was thinking about this years Thy Kingdom Come week I was reminded of Moses…. “Now Moses used to take a tent and pitch it outside the camp some distance away, calling it the “tent of meeting.”….As Moses went into the tent, the pillar of cloud would come down and stay at the entrance, while the Lord spoke with Moses. …The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend”. Exodus 33:7-11 Where would you spend time with a friend? In comfortable chairs, your garden, with a cup of tea…on a walk? Or you could even make a prayer den inside or pitch a prayer tent in the garden like Moses did …we are going to put up our prayer gazebo ! Why not intentionally spend time with Jesus during this week face to face…as you would a friend. Prayer Journal (Prayer and Care) This year’s prayer journal features the Charlie Mackesy picture “Prodigal Son” on the cover. Inside are guided prayers for five people, and ideas of how to practically care for them during this time of the pandemic. We have some hard copies to distribute but also this can be downloaded with this link:- https://www.thykingdomcome.global/sites/default/files/ 2020-04/Prayer%20Journal%202020%20C19V.pdf

Exodus 33:7-11

Where would you spend time with a friend? In comfortable chairs, your garden, with a cup of tea…on a walk? Or you could even make a prayer den inside or pitch a prayer tent in the garden like Moses did …we are going to put up our prayer gazebo ! Why not intentionally spend time with Jesus during this week face to face…as you would a friend.

Prayer Journal (Prayer and Care) This year’s prayer journal features the Charlie Mackesy picture “Prodigal Son” on the cover. Inside are guided prayers for five people, and ideas of how to practically care for them during this time of the pandemic. We have some hard copies to distribute but also this can be downloaded with this link:-https://www.thykingdomcome.global/sites/default/files/2020-04/Prayer%20Journal%202020%20C19V.pdf
