Prayers according to verses of the Quran are based on bowing, prostrating and glorifying GOD. a. If you cannot say your prayer in Arabic you can say it in your preferred language. b. Personal Prayers: One can do any amount of bows and prostration depending on your intention in each prayer. Prayers in the Quran are timed during 5 periods a day, hence 5 prayers. You can stop your prayer whenever your heart tells you to stop. You end the prayer with a declaration of faith, if you want, or by just glorifying GOD.c. To make group or communal prayers easier, universal, and in uniform without disagreement, the number of bows and prostration (Raka’s) have been practiced are mentioned below:

DAILY PRAYERS for Communal Prayers (Group Prayers):1. Fajir (Dawn) 2 Rak’as, 2. Dhuhur (Noon) 4

Rak’as (i.e, 2 x 2 Rak’as)

3. Asir (Late after noon) 4 Rak’as (2 x 2 Rak’as) 4. Maghrib (Sunset) 3 Rak’as (2 Rak’as + 1 Rak’a)5. Isha (Evening or Night) 4 Rak’as (2 x 2 Rak’as).

A. STEPS 1 – 14 in this guide, represent ONE Rak’a. Doing 2 Rak’a means repeating STEPS 1-14 twice

B. STEP 15 (Declaration of Faith) is for middle of prayer (communal/group prayer) or ending the prayer (personal and communal/group) see below for group prayer summary:

Group Fajir (Dawn) 2 Rak’a:steps 1-14 (twice) + declaration of faith

Group Noon, Afternoon, & Evening, 4 Rak’as each:Steps 1-14 (twice) + declaration of Faith + steps 1-14

(twice) + declaration of faith

Group Maghrib (Sunset), 3 Rak’as:Steps 1-14 (twice) + declaration of faith + steps 1-14

(ONCE) + declaration of faith

1. ‘Allahoma nawayto an Osalee Salat al’Isha, li’wajh Allah’i Ta’ala.

[I intend to pray the Ishaprayer, for the sake of God the most High]

2. Then you say in a moderate voice to initiate prayer ‘Allah’oAkbar’ *English: God is Great]

You stand up right with your hands held up to the level of your head or ears, then:

1. You declare your intention to pray, for example the noon (Dhuhur) prayer, or night (Isha) or any other prayer. You can declare within your heart, or in a moderate voice.

2. Then with your hand in the same position & in a moderate tone voice, you say ‘Allah’o Akbar’,in English [God is Great], to initiate the prayer.

BY THE MONOTHEIST, DEDICATED TO GOD THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE

1. Then you stand in any of these position. It does not matter, which position, since GOD is not SUPERFICIAL, but HE looks at ones prayer through ones heart. Your prayer should come from your heart, when you remember GOD.

2. In a moderate tone voice, you seek refuge through GOD from Satan the accursed.

OR

A’otho bil’Lah minAl-shaytanalrajeem

1. Then in a moderate tone voice, you say the ‘Opener’ known as the ‘Fatiha’ . This chapter (First chapter of the Quran) is the key to ones contact prayers with GOD, and fully glorifies GOD. It is expected that any mentally capable individual should be able to memorize this in Arabic, its original version. This is also beneficial when one prays a communal prayer with fellow Monotheists from all ethnicities and languages. If one cannot for any reason memorize it in Arabic, then one can say it in his/her language. One should put aside any sectarian/ethnic sensitivities and put an effort in memorizing the verses in Arabic, as GOD chose to send them down. At the end say ‘Ya Allah” meaning “O’GOD” what is meant by saying this is “O’GOD, please hear, respond, and accept my prayer”. You can choose NOT to say “YaAllah” after the ‘Fatiha’.

2. IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not say the word (AMEEN or AMEN) at the end of the ‘Fatiha’. Please see comment on the Polytheistic history and origin of this word. It is not in the Quran (The Final Testament) ; neither is it of Aramaic (Hebrew & Arabic) origin. See this linkhttp://allmonotheists.com/2010/12/14/purify-your-prayers-if-you-want-god-to-answer-them-remove-ameen-or-amen/

(You can then say ‘Ya Allah” or not say “Ya Allah”)

[In English:In the name of GOD, the Beneficent, the Merciful.Praise be to GOD, the Lord of the worlds. The Beneficent, the Merciful.Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, You alone we seek for assistance. Guide us to the straight path. The path of those whom You blessed, not those who have incurred the wrath, nor the misguided.]

1. (Optional) Then in a moderate tone voice, one can say a verse or number of verses where GOD is glorified and HIS attributes are mentioned. It is recommended, if one wants extra mercy, good deeds, success , forgiveness from GOD that one be selective in his/her verses from the Quran with the attributes mentioned above. NOTE: One should NOT just recite any verses, such as those that contain guidance in regards to for example ; divorce, inheritance, type of dress, what not to eat,…etc. The objective is to worship GOD by mentioning verses that glorify/worship GOD and talk about HIS attributes .Following is a list one can choose from

that are prayers to GOD glorifying HIM, one can choose any of these or search the Quran for any he/she prefers:

2:285-286, 3:191-194, 59:22-2426:78-89, 25:1-2, 67:1-4, 6:1, 18:1-234:1-2, 35:1, 6:160-164

OR

Bismilah Al’RahmanAl’Raheem. [In the name of GOD, the Beneficent, the Merciful.]

Then you can say any of these suggested set of verses, or select your own with similar criteria:

2:285-2863:191-194,59:22-2426:78-8925:1-267:1-46:118:1-234:1-2 35:1/6:160-164

1. Then one moves fromposition (1) to position (2)

bowing , during which one mentions the following words in a moderate toned voice:

Allah’o Akbar

[GOD is Great]

2

NOTE: A person can do steps 1 & 2 or one of them1. Then one bows down as in the figure, head

down, with hands on the knees, and one Exalts GOD multiple times. How many times is up to ones piety & devoutness to GOD. Exalting GOD is done by mentioning one of his 99 names/attributes each time. The word Exalted in Arabic is ‘Sobhan’. So if you want to say ‘Exalted my Lord the Great’ you should say ‘Sobhana (Exalted) Rabi (My Lord) Al-Adheem (the Great)’ or ‘Exalted my Lord the most Merciful’ you say ‘SobhanaRabi Al-Raheem’, and so forth.NOTE: One is not restricted to saying ‘Exalted my Lord the Great’ ‘Sobhana Rabi Al-Adheem’ three times and that is it. This boring repetition when repeated five times daily for the rest of ones life KILLS THE PRAYER & MAKES IT BORING (similar to Sunni & Shia Prayers) . Many have walked away from praying because of this. One should remember GODS various attributes with each bow & prostration , adding variety and hence refreshing ones connection with GOD.

2. (Optional) One then can add a verse or verses from the Quran that contains a request to GOD, suggested are:2:201, 2:250, 3:147, 25:65-66, 25:74,71:28, 14:40-41, 3:53, 5:83-84, 12:101,20:25-29, 7:126, 60:4-5, 10:85-86, 21:83,

21:87 OR you can thank the LORD or request anything you want from him.

Sobhana (Exalted) Rabi (my Lord) Al-Raheem (Most Merciful)Sobhana Rabi Al-Kareem (most Generous)Sobhana Rabi Al-Azeez(most Victorious)Sobhana Rabi Al-Khaliq (the Creator)Then one can say any of these suggested requests mentioned in the Quran :

2:201, 2:250, 3:147, 25:65-66, 25:74,71:28, 14:40-41,

3:53, 5:83-84, 12:101,20:25-29, 7:126,

60:4-5, 10:85-86, 21:83, 21:87 OR you can thank the LORD or request anything you want from him.

1. Then one straightens fromposition (1) to position (2)

, during which one mentions the following words:

Sami’a Allah’o limanHamidah

[GOD is all hearer to those who praise HIM]

1

2

Then one mentions the following words in a standing position:

Rabana walaka Al-hamd

[O’Lord all praises to you]You can also continue praising GOD

and thanking for whatever reason or what is in your heart.

2. Then you immediately go down to the floor prostrating as shown in the next slide.

NOTE: What is said in this step is similar to the (Bowing) position on step 5. Here one can do steps 1 & 2 or anyone of them.

1. During prostration, when ones forehead is touching the ground, and similar to the bowing position, one exalts GOD by mentioning one of his 99 names/attributes several times (depending on ones piety and devotion) (Notice the new set of names included as a comparison to the bowing position, or one can repeat what his or her knowledge is limited to).

2. (Optional) Then one can mention a request to GOD through one of the verses of the Quran, similar to the bowing position. OR you can thank the LORD or request anything you want from him.

NOTE: UP TO THIS POINT (STEPS 1-14) A PERSON HAS COMPLETED ONE UNIT OF PRAYER CALLED (RAK’A) (STEPS 1-14 = 1 Rak’a).

THEREFORE, A PERSON STANDS UP AND REPEATS STEPS 1-14 as many times they want for personal prayers. For communal prayers AFTER THE 2ND

RAK’A, GOTO TO THE NEXT SLIDE.

BY THE MONOTHEIST, DEDICATED TO GOD THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE

Declaration of Faith is a person’s continuous renewing bond to the creator that HE is the one and only creator, sustainer and provider. (suggested examples) One can say any one or combination of the following:

- [I bear witness that there is no god but GOD, the ONE and ONLY that has no partners, the creator of the heavens and the universe+ , or something similar. In Arabic ‘Ash’hado in’a la’ilaha ila Allah, wahdaho, la shareeka lah, khaliq al’kawni wal’samawat’

- AND/OR 3:18 (Al-Imran verse 18) [GOD bears witness that there is no god but HE, as do the Angels, and those with knowledge, HE is standing with justice. There is no god but HE, the ALMIGHTY, MOST WISE]. In Arabic (Sha’ha’daALLAH in’aho la’ilaha ila’howa, wal’mala’ikato, wa’ulu al’ilm, qa’i’man bil’qisti, la ilaha ila HOW’A, ALAZEEZ, ALHAKEEM)

- AND/OR 2: 255 (Al-Baqara 255) If one was praying 2 Rak’a communal/group prayer for Fajir (Dawn) this step would be the final (END) step.

Summary of Communal/Group Fajir (Dawn) prayers: 2 Rak’as + Declaration of Faith (Personal prayers can be as much Raka’s as you want with saying declaration of faith at the end or at any point, it is between you and GOD)

If one was praying communal/group 4 Rak’as (noon, afternoon, & evening prayers), after saying 3:18 and/or 2:255, and/or just a simple personal declaration of faith, one must repeat steps 1-14 again, another two times , and then END with this step (exactly similar to the initial two Rak’as)

Summary of communal/group Noon, Afternoon, & Evening prayers: 2 Rak’as + Declaration of Faith + 2 Rak’as + Declaration of Faith (Personal prayers can be as much Raka’s as you want with saying declaration of faith at the end or at any point, it is between you and GOD)

If one was praying communal/group 3 Rak’as (Sunset prayers), after saying 3:18 and/or 2:255, and/or just a simple personal declaration of faith, one must repeat steps 1-14 again, just one time , and then END with this step

Summary of commumal/group Sunset prayer: 2 Rak’as + Declaration of Faith + 1 Rak’a + Declaration of Faith (Personal prayers can be as much Raka’s as you want with saying declaration of faith at the end or at any point, it is between you and GOD)

just a simple declaration of faith or/and say 3:18 and/or 2:225 or similar verses

Declaration Of Faith

BY THE MONOTHEIST, DEDICATED TO GOD THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE

After saying the declaration of faith:- In a personal prayer one can just end the prayer. The Sunni and Shia belief of saying blessings on the angels is a misunderstanding

and implementation of non-Quranic Hadith. Daily prayers are a commitment to GOD only and saying Salam/blessings on Angels OR Prophets Muhammed and/or Abraham, in every prayer incorporates idol worship (shirk) beside GOD. Only GOD’s name should be mentioned in prayers according to the Quran. Same applies to communal/group prayers. Prayers are for GOD alone.

- In communal/group prayers , one should end prayers by turn to the right first and say blessings on fellow worshipers and turn to the left side and say blessing/salam on fellow worshippers. -Alsalamo Alaekom, wa rahmat Allahi wa Barakatoho.-[English] Peace be upon you with GODS mercy and his blessings.

At end of group/communal prayer, one is encouraged to shake hands and socialize with fellow worshippers

-Alsalamo Alaekom, warahmat Allahi waBarakatoho.-[English] Peace be upon you with GODS mercy and his blessings.
